I used to spend endless time, energy, and money on diet and exercise programs thinking that I'd like myself more if I was thinner/fitter/slimmer. The more weight I lost, the more my mental health suffered, but I thought it was worth it because I was one of 96% of women in the world who was desperately unhappy with my appearance.
