Rank #1: LOTL Radio Welcomes Oleta Adams , Releases latest single " Place of Peace '

Podcast cover
Read more
Since the runaway success of her 1990 debut album Circle of One (which went Platinum), and the impassioned hit single "Get Here" (which became an unofficial anthem of the 1991 Gulf War) Oleta Adams has inspired a growing legion of fans around the world with journeys of the heart via songs that draw deeply from her roots in gospel, while crossing effortlessly into the realms of soul, R&B, urban, and popular music. Her success was first nurtured by worldwide tours with Tears for Fears, Phil Collins, Michael Bolton and Luther Vandross and was solidified by four Grammy nominations and more than two and a half million records sold.

A long-time resident of Kansas City, Kansas, where she has found sanctuary from the turmoil of the entertainment industry, Oleta Adams also remains anchored by her upbringing in the Pacific Northwest where she spent her formative years in Seattle and Yakima, Washington.  This is also where she first demonstrated her budding vocal gifts in the church where her father was minister.   After high school, Oleta eventually landed in Kansas City where she became a local institution with a regular gig at the Hyatt Regency where many national and international touring artists came to hear Oleta sing.

In 1989, serendipity came in the form of the British band Tears for Fears, whose front men Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith asked her to appear on the "The Seeds of Love' album, video and European tour. Proving that good things come to those who wait, upon her return to the U.S. Oleta signed a record deal for her first solo album in which Roland Orzabel produced.

Rank #2: LOTL Radio Welcomes Ana Baby, latest songs " Gotta Have It All & Show Me Love

Frankie Biggz Remix Ft. Chris Brown & Ana Baby, Dalia Chih
With her talent, beauty, and charisma, Ana Baby is undisputedly one of the most promising and highly sought after artists in 2018. Being in a male-dominated industry is a non-factor, and will not impede on Ana Baby’s ability to distinguish herself from the rest in an era where female rappers are spreading their word and making a substantial impact on the music industry.

The Bronx native’s gritty street edge and sex appeal coupled with her thought- provoking punchlines have led her single “Ride” to stand at #127 on the DRT Global Top 200 Airplay Chart for online radio during its 3rd week in rotation. Ana teamed up with platinum producer Trilogy (who is known for the work he has done with artists like Chris Brown and Troy Ave) to produce the catchy and probing tune we know as “Ride”.

Ana Baby has performed in front of over 10,000 roaring fans, opening for prominent artists such as Lil Durk, Vado, and French Montana. She’s also been featured in GlobalGrind, Vibe, Thisis50, and many more blogs following her first critically acclaimed mixtape, “The Evil Queen,” which featured the likes of Hip- Hop heavyweights Jadakiss, and the late Chinx Drugz. Additionally, she has also worked with Emanny and Fred The Godson on her single “Find Another.” Her “TALKIN BOUT” music video has over 6 million views, while “TURNTUP FT. JADAKISS” has over 3 million views on Worldstarhiphop.com. This eventually created tremendous buzz, hence, establishing her heavy social media following on Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube (@therealanababy).

. She has also been streamed on stations across the nation from New York’s #1 radio station Hot 97FM, to satellite Sirius radio.

Speech of the 2x Grammy Award winning Arrested Development.  Discuss his new1 6 Bars is a feature-length music doc that offers a rare glimpse at the human stories — and songs — that are locked away in our nation’s jails and prisons. In a Virginia jail’s makeshift recording studio, four men collaborate on an album with Grammy-winning recording artist, Todd “Speech” Thomas, from the hip-hop group Arrested Development.
The U.S locks up more of its citizens per capita than any other nation on the planet! Speech willingly goes into a Richmond Virginia Jail for 10 days to write music with inmates, while his friends film the entire experience. As creativity unfurls, these men unearth painful elements of their pasts, which hold the key to a new chapter in their lives. This music serves as rare testimony to the raw and messy truth behind the criminal justice system‘s revolving door.

Jamla Records recording artist Heather Victoria releases her new single “Sunbeams” today. It’s the second single off her forthcoming EP, Boutique Hotel, which is set to drop on October 11th, with features from Big K.R.I.T and Raheem DeVaughn. She brings back the nostalgia of 90's R&B soul with a vintage sound. “Sunbeams” embodies Heather Victoria’s tranquil style. The song is filled with melodic vocals that compliment the airy beat. Heather Victoria personifies the essence of being a woman, ultimately empowering and encouraging her listeners. Heather Victoria’s articulation of the vulnerability of womanhood is inspiring. In a time where women are permeating the music scene, she is ready to stake her claim. “Sunbeams” is a follow up to the dreamy single, “Japan”. Heather dropped an acoustic visual for the single in early August. “Japan” acoustic visual serves as the perfect teaser for what’s to come.

Hailing from Wilson North Carolina, this southern belle is no stranger to the game. Rank #12: LOTL Radio Welcomes Katherine Penfold, discuss her upcoming album"Sweetest Thing

Podcast cover
Read more
Soul resides just beneath the exterior. Upon meeting Katherine Penfold, you might initially notice the prominent tattoos along her shoulder and arms before the conversation veers to her lifelong affinity for motorcycles, skateboarding, or woodworking - let alone music. Listening to her sound elicits a different impression altogether - as a sultry, smooth, and sweet delivery belies the rustic badassery she exudes with ease. This gorgeous contrast illuminates the artist’s 2019 full-length debut, SWEETEST THING, set to release October 4th. With a story to every song and a really powerful vibe, SWEETEST THING is the musical juxtaposition that is Katherine Penfold. Although her tattooed, 6 ft, tomboyish exterior seems harsh to the naked eye, Penfold’s quirky Nova Scotia and Brandon University classically-trained upbringing creates a soft and clear musical voice that is all about love and joy. With this unique persona, Penfold went on to win the GROOVEFM singer/songwriter competition, perform alongside the likes of Hugh Laurie, Jeff Lorber, Brad Turner, and Jodi Proznickin, and even sell out headline shows. Her fascination for construction and architecture drove her to build her own studio - one of the many things she loves creating from scratch with her hands. While co-producing this album with David Sikula, Penfold channels these experiences and her spirited style to a soul, funk, and R&B 10-track wonder.Elsewhere, fluttering keys and dreamy production underscore “Far Away” on which she joined forces with Moonchild’s Amber Navran. The track details “the heartache of a long-distance relationship.” Handclaps and sky-high vocal runs abound on “Unapologetic,” highlighting the scope of her showstopping range. “It’s about stepping up and not hiding anymore,” she goes on.

Linda ‘Peaches’ Tavani, Releases  new single "How Many Times" Featuring. Kirk Whalum
The story of Linda ‘Peaches’ Tavani (formerly Linda Greene) begins with a young girl singing into a pink hairbrush to her stuffed animals, in a rural Maryland bedroom. She is dreaming that the hairbrush would someday transform into a microphone, the bedroom would become the most glamorous auditoriums in the world, and the stuffed animals would become millions of cheering fans. Her dreams would eventually manifest into something far more than her imagination could create.

As a young child, Linda was artistically influenced by the likes of Lenard Bernstein, Josephine Baker, and Diana Ross. Her participation in the ‘March on Washington,’ where she witnessed Martin Luther King, Jr.’s iconic “I Have A Dream” speech, would also have a profound influence on her life.

Linda’s musical journey began when she left home as a young adult, became roommates with soul singer Natalie Cole, and began singing with a band in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Soon after her move to Virginia Beach, Linda was invited to perform as ‘Peaches’ in the duo Peaches & Herb.

Rank #15: LOTL Radio Welcomes Lauren Chase, Her New single "So Glad You're Here "

Podcast cover

I want my sound to be authentic of the inspiration I have found in myself. Life is so damn hard, and we are not supposed to do it alone. I want my music to truly engage with the listener to ignite in them to pursue that crazy thing they’ve been shoving down into their gut. Musically, I love groovy riffs, intricate synths, but I also love the process of creating sounds, whether it be from opening a can near the mic, or sampling a sound backwards from a piece that truly means something to me. I would say Soul Pop is where I see myself to lay, but I also like pressing the boundaries of genres, and am very versatile vocally to stretch those limits. And I really would love to collab with other artists outside the Pop genre.

What, if anything, inspires/influences your sound?

Oh man. I am a die hard, child of the 90’s. I love 90’s R&B, Pop, Hip Hop, Alternative, Folk, Blues. And I love Jewel, Alanis Morrisette, John Mayer, Christina Aguilera, Gloria Estafan, Paula Abdul, Prince, Queen, My parents tracks they put me on, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys. The list goes on; More recently in my young adult life, Sara Bareilles, Sia, Sam Smith, Rihanna, Ke$ha, Madison Beer, Years & Years. Each artist for a different reason…like our sound might not vibe but their performances I resonate with, or their aura or brand in general is tight. I think all of my experiences and sounds that I’ve heard have influenced me to write in one way or another. Inspiration can happen anywhere for any reason and that’s what so inviting about the musical experience

Elise has toured extensively, with high profile TV appearances on The Tonight Show, Ellen, Live! with Kelly, Access Hollywood, Good Morning America and others.
Elise’s debut album, In This Life, released in 2014, received rave reviews, celebrating her ability to “wail the blues, rock like a b*tch and purr sexily” (Goldmine Magazine). Her unique style owes more to Ella Fitzgerald, Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, James Brown and Amy Winehouse than today’s disposable hit-makers.
This Is Love is the perfect combination of soul, rock, attitude and restraint ? a distinct fusion of R&B and rock, subtly influenced by funk and hip-hop that best complements her longstanding reputation as a “sassy” (Yahoo! Entertainment) soul siren. Equally as impressive and at ease at belting James Brown style over a relentless funk groove as she is gently resting her voice over a tender ballad, Testone’s range of influences and vocal capacity know few limits.
