He wants you to know that He is right there by you, but in order to preserve your faith in G-d, in the Creator, in the face of such situations, this is when He tests your faith, your belief. At that time, you have to draw from a deeper level of commitment than you had up until now. This is when you must pass the test.Once you pass the test, you realize it was a temporary test. It was just something that was given to you as a challenge so you could rise higher than where you were before.Now, you might ask the question, "Why the test? Why you make it so difficult? If He is G-d and He loves me, why doesn't He just give it to me?"Well, the truth is, He does but in order to deserve more, you have to become more. Life is not about how much you accumulate, how much money you make, how many toys you buy; life is about the person that you become and how you helped this world become a better place to be better so that everyone around you can become better physically, psychologically, emotionally, financially and in every aspect. And whatever it is that was given to you, any strength or powers, or abilities, or talents, those are gifts, tools, skills. They were given to you for you to use and make this world a better place.Now, you might ask, "If this is the case, how come sometimes I don't see results even though I do so much?"Life is not about results either; it's about your faith. In hindsight actually, you wonder if you even had any limitations.The only limitations a person has are those that are self-imposed. Those are the limitations that hold us back from doing what we want to do, going where we want to go or need to go, and reaching goals that we’ve set for ourselves. Those limitations are there because of us, not because of the project, or the intent, or the concept, but because of us.Don’t let anything put limitations on you. Don’t even let your knowledge or your thoughts put limitations on you. Be like the bumble bee. It cannot fly. From an aerodynamic standpoint, it just doesn’t have what it takes. And this is scientifically proven, but it doesn’t pay attention to that.So you can overcome any limitations at any time, if you want to. There’s something which is causing that sense of self-importance, and what we have to do is to teach and explain to ourselves that there is no real reason to feel self-importance.If you’ve been given a lot of money, and are for whatever reason a rich person, then you must know that the Creator of the world gave it to you for a specific purpose and that is to give charity to help others. That is the only reason.If self-importance originates in this case in possessing a good mind, then think about why you were given this great mind. If you do it right, if you use it right, if you use it properly, then think of how much you can do with it. If you learn something and you learn it right, think of how much you can accomplish.Conceit is not a good trait. It’s not something to have, it’s not something to believe in and it’s not even something that you should ever aspire to.Conceit keeps everyone away from you and sets you apart by telling everyone else that you are better or greater than them. But you have to ask yourself, “Do I still believe I can do this? Am I able to?”The most important ingredient of success is belief in yourself and what you’re striving towards. There’s nothing more important than that. The highest ambitions are nothing if think about it without the conviction that you can actually reach them. It’s just an ambition, but you have to believe that. You have to know that.You need to take a hard look in the mirror and ask yourself, is your passion and drive matching up with your aspirations?That’s a very important question. The skills and the know-how are less than half of the battle. But if you don’t believe you can do it, it will be very hard to convince anyone else you can.You have to be your own cheerleader before you can expect anyone else to be. This has to come from you. It has to start with you. It all starts with you and that’s what matters in life.Know who you are.Know your limitations.Know your strengths, and know that those limitations are only limitations in your mind and that you can overcome them.Know that other people with a lot less than you have and a lot less fortune than where you are have done so much more. This should give you an incentive to become better, to do more, to share, and to grow continuously. Don’t let anything be in your way. This is what happens when you learn and you go. But you have to have a game plan. You can’t just wake up in the morning and say, “Okay, what do I do now? And whatever happened then doesn’t matter.” No, you can’t do that.A game plan means having a vision and understanding what the future is going to bring. We need to borrow from the experiences of the past, formulate them in the visions of the future to use them in the present as an incentive to make it better today and make it possible for you.This is what life is all about, making it a difference, leaving a legacy. Whether it’s to yourself, to your spouse, to a better half, to family members, to your family, to colleagues, neighbors, citizens in your country, or to the whole world you need to make a difference and use your full potential. The most important question is not so much, why did this mistake happen and what it is that I have done to cause that mistake?But are you learning from that mistake?Am I learning from each and every mistake that has happened?See most patterns of success typically includes plenty of failures. That’s just the way things are. That is completely normal and even healthy. However, the important thing is that you’re learning and you are rarely making the same mistake twice. You don’t want to repeat the mistakes. You want to learn from it and move on.When you hit a roadblock, take the time to evaluate what went wrong, what needs to change, and how you can prevent it from happening in the future. Try to take a nugget of wisdom from each failure you encounter on your road to success. That’s all it is.By not repeating that mistake, not only will it make it better for you, but you will also grow. You can now use this mistake as an experience and a spring board to become and make things better from here on out. It’s impossible to think that you’re going to go through life without making mistakes. Nobody can actually believe that, nobody does that. Everybody makes mistakes. At one point in time it may not be there. It is so important to routinely check with yourself, and your motivation, “Am I in the right niche?”If you feel like your passion, your ambitions, your drive is waning, and you’re burning out then you may want to change. You may find something so that it is necessary to reignite the energy for the business that you’re doing.Finding a niche and something which sustains you emotionally will give you the clear mind and the passionate drive that you need to succeed. This isn’t something that happens by itself. At any given time, it can fade away. You need to constantly ask yourself:Am I making a difference?Not, “How much money am I making in this job?” But, “Who am I becoming and what am I doing for the world?”Now you may say, “Well, my job is rather simple. I just do administrative work. Things which are not that important and that I can not change.”That’s not true, your job is very important. Whatever job you do can make a difference in the company. Even if what you’re saying is correct and that you are only answering the phone for the company, you’re a receptionist. Without your ability to answer the phone properly and directing the people to the right person everything falls apart. None of these professionals could function.If you think about it, even what you may call a “small job”, like a receptionist, is the backbone and the fundamental concept at what makes that company successful.Every job done honestly and with integrity is as important as the most important job that you can think of. A nurse in an operating room is just as important as the surgeon. They both serve a purpose and they are both needed and helping one another save the life of that patient. It is the same thing in every single profession.Find yourself a niche. Something that you feel confident, that you like, that gives you not just a passion, but gives you an ambition. You should ask yourself, “Am I in the right niche?” If you don’t have passion for what you do in the way that you’re doing it, you won’t be motivated to overcome the natural barriers and the obstacles often that life puts in the way of success. Even if you started out with passion by the bucket full, it can fade away. At one point in time it may not be there. It is so important to routinely check with yourself, and your motivation, “Am I in the right niche?” If you feel like your passion, your ambitions, your drive is waning, and you’re burning out then you may want to change. You may find something so that it is necessary to reignite the energy for the business that you’re doing. Finding a niche and something which sustains you emotionally will give you the clear mind and the passionate drive that you need to succeed. This isn’t something that happens by itself. At any given time, it can fade away. You need to constantly ask yourself: Am I making a difference? Not, “How much money am I making in this job?” But, “Who am I becoming and what am I doing for the world?” Now you may say, “Well, my job is rather simple. I just do administrative work. Things which are not that important and that I can not change.” That’s not true, your job is very important. Whatever job you do can make a difference in the company. Even if what you’re saying is correct and that you are only answering the phone for the company, you’re a receptionist. Without your ability to answer the phone properly and directing the people to the right person everything falls apart. None of these professionals could function. If you think about it, even what you may call a “small job”, like a receptionist, is the backbone and the fundamental concept at what makes that company successful. Every job done honestly and with integrity is as important as the most important job that you can think of. A nurse in an operating room is just as important as the surgeon. They both serve a purpose and they are both needed and helping one another save the life of that patient. It is the same thing in every single profession. Find yourself a niche. Something that you feel confident, that you like, that gives you not just a passion, but gives you an ambition. Nurture that, and that should keep you going at all times. When you go through a challenge or a difficulty in life—and it may seem to you as a curse.But in reality, the way that it appears to you right now the reason for this difficulty, this challenge, this curse, this problem is actually divine. It is so great that to be revealed within our limited world and the way that we live, it must afford the disguise and look as a curse. Quite amazing.Now our challenge is to see in this perspective, rather than falling into the trap of becoming angry with what happened, with G-d, with nature, or the pain and negativity that exists in order to provide us with a free choice.Free choice in turn exists in order to enable us to earn the rewards of our own choices. You don’t need to feel unworthy of that blessing. To the contrary, this is coming to you because you have the ability to make that choice. When you recognize that the evil, difficulty, challenge, or the problem exist only to provide you with the free choice to reject it then your struggle becomes much easier.I hope you can understand this. I know because I myself have gone through it also as every human being in life. When we do face a challenge that seems to be so overwhelmingly huge, monumentally big, above and beyond us.We say, “How will I overcome this? How do we resist this drive and overcome the possibility of doing things which is not proper?When we are confronted in the case of a challenge, we need to summon at that moment the recollection of our willingness to sacrifice everything for our principle. As well as the willingness itself.Our ability to assert our human nature, our good part, the person that we need to be, no matter how strong the powers of persuasion could be, the ridicule, or the compulsion that the opposite tries to throw at us, we need to overcome that and not let it take over us. Do not let it win at any given time. That is not so simple because sacrificing a principle may seem at times like the right thing to do. I can tell you that it is never right to sacrifice principles.Principles are the fundamentals of your life. It is the philosophy that holds you together physically, spiritually, professionally, and to a certain extent in a human way - The person that you are. A man stepped out of that restaurant and in his hand he had a toothpick wrapped in cellophane. I saw him take out the toothpick from the cellophane wrapper and threw the wrapper on the ground, and kept on walking. I picked up the wrapper and put it in the garbage can.It occurred to me, why did this man throw the wrapper on the ground? If this was his home, would he do that? Would he just throw it on the floor? I ask you the question, “If you are at home and you open up a drawer, do you push it back? If you open up a closet and you take something out of the cabinet, do you close the door? When you sit at the table and you pull a chair to sit down, as you walk away, do you push the chair back where it belongs?”You should know, it does make a difference.Somebody may say, "Oh, what is the difference? I mean, it's just a piece of cellophane, that's all it is. Why make such a big deal out of it?"I'll tell you what makes a difference, it's the habit.It's the habit that makes a difference, primarily for you because you are that person. It does make a small contribution by not leaving trash on the ground. But, what it does mostly is give you the incredible feeling of self-worth because you have good habits; and that's a great deal. Good habits of things that you do when things are supposed to be finished and finished by you. It is the same when you have a car that you've rented and returned it to the rental company all clean; or you leave a hotel room where you've been there for a short period of time and you straighten things up before leaving.Good habits should be the way that you do things. This person has reached her late 80s, close to 90s. It is interesting that speaking with this woman, I found out that she is lonely. That's probably one of the hardest thing to live with. When you age, you become lonely. With loneliness comes fear and of course, this compounded with sometimes, medical issues, conditions, or diagnoses that seem to be dangerous, at that age, even the slightest movement outside by just the wind, can cause that person to be scared.So if you know aging people, it could be parents, relatives, or friends, show them support, show them that you care.There's no greater gift that you can give because at that age, there's not much that they can offer. Now, they have wisdom, tremendous amount of wisdom. After all, they've lived their full life and that life that they've lived is packed with wisdom of depth that would take any one of us a whole lifetime to understand. The generation previous to us is always smarter and greater, and they know; they see, they understand. So if you have the opportunity and you can or you would like to do something good, contact a person who's aging, an elderly.If it's a family member, they will appreciate it. If it's not, then they'll have great feelings of kindness and hope, to share with you. Go ahead, spend time with them even if it is but to visit them, like coming by, bringing them a present with things that they like, things that remind them of their youth, you will do a tremendous service not only to our society and to the world around you, but to the person that you're visiting as well and to your soul.Visiting an elderly is a blessing and it is something which is actually very precious.I remember myself when I was in practice and seeing my elderly patients. They came in with fire within themselves, and the hope that their diagnosis will always be better than they had anticipated. I made it a point to always take care of that and make sure that that's what they would get: the best health care. So you don't have to be a doctor to do that. You can be a good person and help these people. Daily Wisdom  – Motivational Podcast – Day 928 – Inspiration: Above and BeyondIt says that there are four general types of temperaments. The question is, which one best suits you? Who are you in these temperaments?Let's see. The first one is, “easily angered and easily appeased.”What that means is that his gain outweighs his loss. He is angry easily, so that means that he's sensitive to his own feelings and therefore, becomes angry at the slightest motion but is also sensitive to others and therefore he's appeased easily.Then, there is the second kind and that is “slow to anger and slow to be appeased.”Now, in this case, his loss outweighs his gain because in the second category, that person is not sensitive to others and therefore, they are not appeased easily but at the same time, they are sensitive to their own feelings and therefore, they're not angered easily. They don't get mad so fast.See, those two types are therefore not considered terribly bad because their arrogance is relatively benign, if you think about it.There's a third type however, and that's one that is oblivious to these and that person is “slow to anger and easily appeased.” That's a good stock. Who are you in these temperaments? Let's see. The first one is, “easily angered and easily appeased.” What that means is that his gain outweighs his loss. He is angry easily, so that means that he's sensitive to his own feelings and therefore, becomes angry at the slightest motion but is also sensitive to others and therefore he's appeased easily. For someone, for instance, that you care about, know this: number one, remember that the person that you're with right now will not always be there. There will come a day when they die.Number two, remember that you will not always be there. There will come a day when you die.And here's number three: right now, where you are and with the person that you're with together in this moment, will never come again, and if you miss this opportunity, then you might regret it, so think about that.By this person dying one day or you dying one day, why not enjoy the moment that you're in right now? If you can get to work, and feel around your waist the hugs from your child, you become priceless. Each and every man possesses many character traits as we know and each trait is very different and distant from the others.One type of man for instance is angry constantly. In contrast, there’s the calm individual who is never moved to anger or if at all, he will be slightly angry, perhaps once during many years. Then there’s also the prideful man and the one who is exceptionally humble. There’s the man ruled by his appetites. He will never be satisfied for pursuing his desires, and conversely, the very pure of heart who does not desire even the little that the body needs. There's also the greedy man who cannot be satisfied with all the money in the world. As it says in the proverb, a “lover of money never has his fill of money.”In contrast however, there is the man who puts a check on himself. He is satisfied with even a little which is not enough for his needs and he needs not bother to pursue and attain what he lacks, but he feels fine with that. There is also the miser, he torments himself with hunger and he gathers all his possessions close to himself. Whenever he spends a penny of his own, he does so with great pain. Conversely, there is the spendthrift who consciously wastes his whole entire fortune.All of the traits fall at the same pattern of contrast. For example, the overly elated and the depressed, the stingy and the free-handed, the cruel and the soft-hearted, the coward and the rash, and the like.Between each trait and the contrasting traits of the other extreme, there are intermediate points each distance from the other. Now, you’ll note that it is interesting that with regards to all the traits, a man has some, from the beginning of his conception, in accordance with his nature, some are appropriate to a person’s nature and will therefore be acquired more easily than others. Some traits, he doesn’t have from birth. He may have learned them from others: parents, siblings, teachers, peers, many other ways, or they would turn to them on his own.Also, this may have been some that have come to him as a result of his own thoughts or because he heard that this was the proper trait for him, and therefore, he tried very hard to attain that trait, so he accustomed himself to it and until it became a big part of himself.You see, the two extremes of each trait which are at a distance from one another do not reflect by any means a proper path. No. It’s not fitting that a man should behave in accordance with these extremes or teach them to himself. It’s not what we need, it’s not what you want. If he finds that his nature leans towards one of the extremes or that he adapted himself to it or if he’s learned one of the extremes and he acts accordingly, he should bring himself back to what is proper.The straight path is what involves discovering the midpoint. The midpoint temperament of each and every trait that a man possesses.
