The conversation around psychedelic medicine has shifted significantly in the past 10-15 years and has been covered by popular media outlets. This shift is attributed to the mental health crisis, with approximately 50 million Americans diagnosed with mental health conditions and the pandemic exacerbating the issue.    People are desperate to heal and are seeking out unconventional methods.   In this episode, we explore psychedelics’ (particularly psilocybin/mushrooms’) potential for healing and discuss the societal stigma surrounding them, as well as the need for open conversations around their safe use. Join us as we reflect on the potential of psychedelics to support healing in individuals - as well as their positive effects on families and communities.   My guest Cori Sue Morris @corisue spent 15+ years building and scaling brands and has a master’s degree from the George Washington University Elliott School of International Affairs. 044: The Depth & Beauty of Life Transitions

These next 2 episodes – The Veil Pt 1 &amp; 2 – turned out to be very special.  Jeffery C. Olsen was the driver of the car involved in a horrific accident that claimed the lives of his wife and toddler son.  He had a profound near-death experience where he met his wife on the other side – she knew it wasn’t his time, although it was hers – and he returned to a battered and pain-wracked physical body.  After years of suffering and healing and trying to make sense of it all, Jeff developed “a new spiritual mind and heart” and thus, a totally new way of looking at life. Together, Jeff and I explore the deeper meaning of spirituality, religion and truth.  He's the creative director of BYU-tv, an international speaker, a spiritual healer, and bestselling author of the book “Knowing: Memoirs of a Journey Beyond the Veil and Choosing Joy After Tragic Loss.” Jeff says his greatest joy comes from being a husband and father. 053: Understanding the Divine Feminine 

[Gulp] In this episode, I get pretty dang REAL about some of my personal pain points – and genuine concerns – surrounding women’s mental health within patriarchal religious hierarchies.  In particular, I share some personal and professional context with how I see women’s spiritual/emotional/mental health being harmed (knowingly and unknowingly). [Gulp] In this episode, I get pretty dang REAL about some of my personal pain points – and genuine concerns – surrounding women’s mental health within patriarchal religious hierarchies.  In particular, I share some personal and professional context with how I see women’s spiritual/emotional/mental health being harmed (knowingly and unknowingly). 054: The Wound Every Woman Carries

What is a shared-death experience?  You will find out on this fascinating episode, The Veil Pt 2, where I interview Dr. Jeff O’Driscoll, an attending emergency room physician while Jeff Olsen (in the previous podcast episode, The Veil Pt 1) was fighting for his life. While in the hospital room, Dr. Jeff shared a profound “lifting of the veil” experience with a nurse wherein they beheld Jeff Olsen’s wife who had passed on that day. Through this and other veil-rending experiences throughout his life, Dr. Jeff – like Jeff Olsen in the previous episode – has developed a larger vision for humanity and a respect for the unique paths of each human soul. I have felt lately to be more open about my faith journey, in hopes that there could be others out there (and I know there are) who ask, question, struggle, wrestle, and have a craving for more. Abuse is more complex than just physical violence or verbal assault. When we are connected to a partner, a deep and strong tie becomes embedded inside that leaves us vulnerable and open to trauma in many forms (not just infidelity).  For many women, it’s become so chronic in their relationship that they don’t realize how it’s impacting their quality of life and health. After years of attempting to stop her husband’s pornography use and “anger issues”, Anne Blythe's husband was arrested for domestic violence in 2015. Anne educates women about how to safely and effectively navigate their husband’s (or ex’s) abuse and establish peace in their homes and families. Anne was APSATS trained and is the producer and host of the Betrayal Trauma Recovery Podcast. She has been a key presenter at numerous conferences.  In this episode:  What is GASLIGHTING? What are the ONLY 2 ways to heal from manipulation and abuse?
