Michelle O’Connell was shot to death on September 2, 2010 after arguing with her boyfriend, St Johns Sheriff’s Office Deputy, Jeremy Banks’. On January 31, 2019, Eli Washtock, an amateur sleuth looking into Michelle O’Connell’s death, was murdered in his condo. A neighbor says that Washtock feared for his life.
