This term schema is to be used in the context of psychology while listening to this episode. It funny how words have different meanings for different contexts and this is the context im applying it too. I have been reading a book that has been changing my life recently that I didn;t think I would end up sharing on the podcast but I believe its relevant to the foundation of healing in our lives and transforming for the sake of unleashing our gifts upon the world. Today I talked about 2 differnt schemas that we can develop while growing up at children that impact us all into agdult hood if not aware. I share how I have been impacted by each as well as how we can recover our selfs and no longer sabotoge our lives with these distorted ways of seeing things. What may have worked in one context may not work in the next. I hope this episode inspires you and encouges you to begin the process of healing yourself in this way and to have the self compassion as these patterns begin to show themselves. Life Coaching Series: What is a schema? How are they developed and relevant to you?

This was a hard one for me to swallow. I realized a belief that I had about God this morning that was keeping me from God and then I realized that I needed his grace even more. How do you guys respond to your self when God exposes a belief you have about him that is hurting your relationship to him? Do you want to hide from him? How are you feeling that keeps you from God? Our emotions are indicators and we all have them. That is how Jesus related to us. Revelation Revamp: God's grace is enough; Don't deny the emotions that validate why he came to die.

Boundaries. Something that I was never taught and when I entered the church they were viewed as walls and if you have walls, you are not loving and if you are not loving you are not being obedient and if your are not obedient you are a sinner "and your *** is on your way to hell." Yes...I said the word in this episode today but I hope you will give me grace and understand the context of the use of this. I hope by be being transparent in my struggle to find my worth, how I found it and what Im realizing now will give you insight to your own struggle. Join me as I share my life in hopes of inspiring yours. Boundaries! This is something that I have only began to implement into my life the last 5 years. The environment I was in growing up didn't teach me this foundational concept because they didn't have them either. We cannot teach what we don't have within ourselves first. I had come to a point in my walk with Christ that I was burned out and struggling with what I was responsible for and what my role was. I was worrying about what was happening with others more than what was happening inside of me. For years I had been taught to deny myself and I was doing that in the most extreme and destructive ways to myself. Boundaries changed that all for me tho! The book Boundaries by Dr. Henry Cloud changed my life. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is seeking to establish who they are in relationship to other people. Let's define what a boundary is. A boundary is a combination of what you say yes and no too; it's a combination of the choices you make that shape your life. It's really self control in action. This is something that is developed overtime and lots of factors need to be discussed so this can be done with confidence. Let's jump into the episode so we can get ourselves established from the rest of the world in only a way that YOU can. I realized that I have a fear of repeating the past. I don't ever want to go back to living with my own hand over my mouth. I never want again to live with the burden of my own silence.  I realized that that is not possible when I now have the knowledge that lead to that burden being formed in the first place. I want you to experience the same level of deep freedom that the Lord is revealing to me. What burden are you carrying today? How have you been deceived into thinking that its Gods will to live with these burdens on your heart? All this and more in todays podcast! Real and Ideal (Integrating God's grace into your life). This is something that I have only began to understand the last few years. I had no idea the amount of shame I was living under and how it was impacting my relationship with God and others. I had lived in a place that God would abandoned me if I shared my whole self with him. Then I remembered that while I was still a sinner, Christ died for me so my sinful state didn't keep Christ from doing what was in his heart to do. All I needed to do was receive what he came to give me and allow it to impact my life: God's grace. Their is no condemnation in Christ. He doesn't point our our wrongs and hold it against us. He gives us the grace we need to face what is causing death in us and gives us a new way of thinking to create life in us. God's grace gives us the courage we need to make transitions in life that will benefit us and advance Gods kingdom through the context of our lives. Real and Ideal:Understanding your present day burden so you can move into the future.

We are talking about a topic that has been foundational for me. I had never learned to establsih myself from others because I was taught to die to myself and pay attention to the needs of others. My world was centered around others and not rooted in self control. God is our example of setting boundaries because He does it all through out his word. We need to learn to establish our self the same way he does because we are made in his image. We must learn to carry ourselves the same way he does. Boundaries: How do you define yourself?

This is a heavy one today. This is something I have only come to learn, integrate and experience in my life has only been within the last few years. I share it with you today because it has opened my eyes so much. I hope and pray that this episode blesses and encourages you. I do understand we all have our perceptions and it was formed in different environments that we didnt have the choice to control.  Now our task is to see how our perception is impacting our life and to open ourselves up to different ways of looking at situtions that would result in love, joy, peace, patience ect. Life Coaching Series: Beliefs that kept me in the hole. Can you relate?

This was a big one for me during 2019!  Today I am sharing the biggest revelation I had in May of 2019 and I hope it inspires you and encourages. I share how I was afraid to share my journey of healing with the rest of the world because I was afraid of judgement from the Christian community. Then one day as I was thinking about how I was holding back on sharing  certain things, a thought came into my mind that will forever propel me forward, "Ashley, it you deny the process I put you in to heal you, you deny me." How could I deny the one who had healed my heart in some deep and powerful ways? How could I not let my light shine? Revelation Revamp: Embrace your purpose. Don't deny your process.

Today I talked about the importance of looking at what we believe about God, ourselves and other people, how those beliefs impact you currently and the blessing of being able to chage what we believe in these 3 areas so we can move forward and make progress in life producing the fruit of the spirit all the time not leaning on our circumstances, performance, others opinions but Gods spirit in us that reminds us that true freedom is in how we think and God can help us with all that! Bonding: Is your fear of the Lord leading you to bond with him?

God says that his people will die from lack of understanding.  God also tells us that his people will die from our lack of knowledge. Are you aware of the knowledge of your own life?  Are you aware of the outcomes you have had that lead to a good outcome, bad out come or both? Are you growing in your own understanding of the knowledge of your life,  how it's impacting you and using it as leverage for wisdom and God producing a good outcome of your life? God can only produce good. Humans however are not all knowing and that lack of knowledge also contributes to the evil we experience. Today I discuss all this for the sake of us growing in the direction that will heal us and help us to bear fruit that will bless the people God puts in our life. Maturity! This is a topic that has been on my mind for a long time because for so many years I had thought I was mature but was still operating in a parent/child dynamic with other adults in my church. I thought I was mature because I was living by their values and expectations and because I was chosing to do it I was an adult. I didn't realize how much I was living in compulsion and fear of them wrongly judging me and condemning me for not complying with them. To top it off, I was a brand new Christian when I came into their fellowship so I was all ears and more than willing to do what was expected because I wanted to grow in my relationship with God and that was my priority. Over the years I realized how that way of living was hindering my growth and development as a person. I realized I had perspectives and experiences that were relevant and shouldn't be hidden to keep the peace. God didn't hide his desire to have a relationship with me by exposing the issues hindering it, I shouldn't be ashamed of the things he came to die for and the grace he supplied in my life through giving me a life giving perspective that has altered the trajectory of my life. I share these different perspectives through my own life experiences with this topic as well as what I'm currently learning for that week. God says that his people will die from lack of understanding.  God also tells us that his people will die from our lack of knowledge. Are you aware of the knowledge of your own life?  Are you aware of the outcomes you have had that lead to a good outcome, bad out come or both? Are you growing in your own understanding of the knowledge of your life,  how it's impacting you and using it as leverage for wisdom and God producing a good outcome of your life? God can only produce good. Humans however are not all knowing and that lack of knowledge also contributes to the evil we experience. Today I discuss all this for the sake of us growing in the direction that will heal us and help us to bear fruit that will bless the people God puts in our life. Maturity! This is a topic that has been on my mind for a long time because for so many years I had thought I was mature but was still operating in a parent/child dynamic with other adults in my church. Maturity: Growing in understanding in the context of our life.

Bonding: An emotional attachment to another person. If we are to bond with someone. that means we have to be vulnerable. We are vulnerable when we are honest with each other about our whole selves and not just the parts of ourselves we feel strong: We gotta be willing to expose our whole self, weaknesses and all, so we can mutually encourage each other. Where you are weak, I am strong and where I am weak, you are strong. In order to strengthen the church, we gotta create a culture of confession with one another. Bonding: You live in law and not love when you have failed to bond.

When we can understand people, we can understand the heart of God and how he wants us to communicate the grace he has given to through the holes his grace found us in. Our shame and his grace collided and as a result we are healed: we are steadfast, strong and secure. Today I shared with you guys the importance of understanding people, what we need if we are going to be an environment that cultivates people confessing sin to get healed and these 5 mindsets can help us impact each other in the most fulfilling way for the health of all invloved. Bonding! You maybe thinking, “What? Why are we talking about his on here? I can function without having to bond with people...I have made it this far...” Is that is you? I understand. I didn't realize I needed people: I thought people needed me. Because I thought like this, I would stay on my P's and Q's to not rock the boat of the image I was trying to covey to the rest of the world; “I got my Christian game tight and there is nothing you can say about that”. LOL! That was my mentality. I was afraid to fail in the presence of my Christian Brothers and Sisters. I had been in this mode my whole life. I had grown up in an alcoholic family. The only time my mother would take time for me is when she was helping me with school and would tell me that I was going to be valedictorian (God I hope I spelled that right!) Because of the issues my parents had and the belief my mother had in me,  I wanted to prove to the world my parents were not as worthless as most had judged them: I was with them and saw all that was impacting their life. I had already been trying to help them with all their issues at a precious age of 5... My worth was in what I gave to them. I never learned to receive love. Can you relate? So what is bonding exactly? Its your ability to establish an emotional connection with another person. How are you doing with that? Why is this so important? How does it impact on how we go on to present ourselves to the rest of the world? All this will be discussed in this and future episodes! Bonding: Understanding people. What 5 mindsets can you take on to become an understanding person?

This came from some a scripture I was reading in Isiah 1 this morning. I realized how God had been so honest with them about who he was but they had completely forsaken him and the results of that were devestating. It got me reflecting on how the people I choose to bond with impacted my life and my confidence in my relationship with God. How are the people you are chosing to bond with impacting you in your life? How has it impacted the decisions you make? Listen to my story and maybe it will help you reflect on yours a little more. Bonding: How are the people you are bonding with impacting you?

Today Im diving into a topic most don't like to discuss but as the same time denying you struggle with it is the exact reason you are stuck in your life not doing what you know you want to do. As I woke up this morning, I was thinking about how shamed was formed...not living by the knowledge of God... But then I asked God, "What about the people who have shame and did't grow up with the knowldege of God. Then this question came to mind,  "Who gave you the rules you are living by?" It was an aha moment for me! I thought about how all people were raised by someone and got rules handed down to them for a purpose. Today I share why its importent to have a vision, question the rules that you are living by and if your current habits are allowing you to achieve that vision. If not, are you willing to face the thought proceess/beliefs/meanings you have attached to your life that are not serving the vision God has for you life so you can get past the barriers and move into a future both you and God desire? Life Coach Series: Shame. Who is it relevant to? 

This was a thought that crossed my mind when I was debating on starting another social media account. I don't want to ever lose sight of my priorities and at the same time need to have another platform I can use to reach more people with the things the Lord has reached me with. Today I want to talk about how the outcome of our lives is our responsibilty to evaluate if your not happy with your life. If you feel like a slave, you can acknowledge it and ask God to give you wisdom so you can mange your life in away that makes our relationship with God attractive. This was an episode that towards the end I was honest about some judgements I see people can make that can keep people under wraps and because of these judgements...people can feel like slaves to the expectations and judgements of the others around them. This is a hot topic issue (in episode towards the end) but one I believe is also apart of the dymanic that needs to be exposed and at least talked about so it can lose its hold it can have on peoples lives. Maturity: You are only a slave to what you allow.

Are you approaching God daily? Are you recognizing the barriers that get in the way of your relationship with the Lord? Are you approaching God and waiting in expectation for him to work in your life? All this and more in todays episode. Real and Ideal (Integrating God's grace into your life). This is something that I have only began to understand the last few years. I had no idea the amount of shame I was living under and how it was impacting my relationship with God and others. I had lived in a place that God would abandoned me if I shared my whole self with him. Then I remembered that while I was still a sinner, Christ died for me so my sinful state didn't keep Christ from doing what was in his heart to do. All I needed to do was receive what he came to give me and allow it to impact my life: God's grace. Their is no condemnation in Christ. He doesn't point our our wrongs and hold it against us. He gives us the grace we need to face what is causing death in us and gives us a new way of thinking to create life in us. God's grace gives us the courage we need to make transitions in life that will benefit us and advance Gods kingdom through the context of our lives. Real and Ideal: Are you expecting God to do for you what you cannot do for yourself?

I know...its a touchy subject! I completely understand because we didn't have boundaries in my family of orgin and we just talked to each other however we wanted because we were family and that "love" would be the bond that would become unbreakable.  My family of orgin all had different daddies, different livnig conditions, we didn't grow up together and when me and my younger Sister did, we were just surviving and didnt learn how to thrive in life. I hope my discussion today will give you some encouragement that we all have dysfunctional relational dymanices that try to steal, kill and destroy the love and talents God has put in every single person. Boundaries in family are the first place we should learn to set boundaries because that is whee we first learned to love first and boundaries protects that love. Allow me to explain. Lets jump into todays podcast! Boundaries! This is something that I have only began to implement into my life the last 5 years. The environment I was in growing up didn't teach me this foundational concept because they didn't have them either. We cannot teach what we don't have within ourselves first. I had come to a point in my walk with Christ that I was burned out and struggling with what I was responsible for and what my role was. I was worrying about what was happening with others more than what was happening inside of me. For years I had been taught to deny myself and I was doing that in the most extreme and destructive ways to myself. Boundaries changed that all for me tho! The book Boundaries by Dr. Henry Cloud changed my life. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is seeking to establish who they are in relationship to other people. Let's define what a boundary is. A boundary is a combination of what you say yes and no too; it's a combination of the choices you make that shape your life. It's really self control in action. This is something that is developed overtime and lots of factors need to be discussed so this can be done with confidence. Boundaries: Do we need to set them with family?
