If your interests include modern culture and theology, this course is first rate. I did not read the assignments, but I have listened to other courses, including the Teaching Company on Skeptics and Believers in Modernity, and this course is my favorite for being the most concentrated and detailed. Dr. Hoffecker is fair, thorough, and at times quite insightful, even profound. He also is an organized and effective teacher. He even seems like quite a decent person!

Thorough and Enjoyable

I also didn&#39;t take the course or read the material. Dr. Hoffecker was most knowledgable and his presentation style was well organized. Overall this was an excellent course  I think it is more than 10 years out of date which is a minus since this is a course on modern culture. The only reason I give it four stars instead of five is that I wanted Dr. Hoffecker to presonally engage the ideas he is presenting. What is HIS viewpoint and reponse to Bultman and others? That would have made for a livelier lecture series.
