What happened next is a rally of misinformation, fake videos, assumptions and just trash talk. Airplane pilots saying helicopter pilots are dangerous, the public asking why we can fly in that weather, etc. etc. Fact is, you don’t know anything about the crash, neither do I, so lets talk about the weather… “Everything is nothing but conjecture, there are no conclusions from actual facts, so shut the fuck up until the NTSB has done their job.” Don’t be afraid of flying, be afraid of bad decisions brought on by a boss that threatens to fire pilots for being safe, and seriously lets consider that Hollywood makes you fear helicopters because a helicopter crash is great suspense.

Episode 005: Why i chose to kill myself

Spend a little time getting to know the team and what brought them to create the podcast. It’s only a few minutes of craziness, but your hosts are almost as important as a good cheese, but not quite as cultured.  Since our last episode, James has been training on a new helicopter while still working full time at Elevation Ten Thousand. Josh has gotten a little closer to being happy, and Jared shaved for the first time in… well… his life; we think. He was far from happy about it. Episode 002: A steaming pile of “whatever”. (Our first real banter)

The following is a short excerpt from our upcoming fourth episode. It has been entered into the Rode Microphones My Rodecast competition. We figured the contest could use a bit of James’ punk rock musings, so we threw our hat into the ring.  Give it a listen and a vote at the Rode Website. “I am terrible at this shit.” ~ Jared We have already lived your life. Hood up and head down hiding from authority and everything it represents. Police, politics, parents, and peers there was no salvage. Drunk, high, geeked, spun, straight and sloppy. A frigid wind cuts through the skin to bone, half numb, staggering through alleyways desperate for a warm place to sleep, no friends around, nothing but the night. Hitchhiking from town to town with no protection but darkness itself. Only skinny because we were hungry. Only happy when we were anything but sober. Broken hearts and bloody mattresses, dark hallways, dark corners, back rooms, back doors, back yards and the back seat of cars. Their sex drugs and Rock n Roll was our pain pleasure and empty soul. Dead friends, oil stains, bruises, broken bones, hospitals, and seriously dead ends. Another handle down we pledge allegiance to any other town but this one. Burning candles and spilled liquor we pass the torch for her, for him and for all of them. Their legacy will live on in our thoughts, our smiles, sunshine and many, many dark nights. Our wall was one of communication, not concrete. Our fight for equality was a fight for our right to exist. Gay, straight, skinny, fat, man, woman, dressed in drag or sloppy drunken hag… We lived with rage in our veins. Never good enough for anyone. In the darkness, we have no color. Black, white, Hispanic, Indian, Asian, mixed or alien… We stood hand in hand for survival and fought for each other without question. We were the angels of the night. The balance between good and evil is all we knew, and by who’s definition, by what religion, we may never realize. We have lived your life, and we did it without hate. We are the godfathers of acceptance; we are the instrument of truth. We are the ones that paved the way for your journey. Our brothers and sisters were the soldiers of youth and the warriors of life. We still stand beside you. And we still stand up for you. We will still die for you. Those of us still standing have nothing but love left. We have survived the night For the sake of crime and casualty, our life has become our trophy. We have already lived your life.

You’re all so fucking hateful. I’m not necessarily wondering how we got here, but I am absolutely terrified of what is next. every day it seems like our ability to coexist peacefully is breaking down to a pile of ash. I only say it seems that way because this breakdown exists only in a world of ideals, it is not tangible. Life goes on almost the same as it always does in our day to day lives, people, aside from criminals and extremists, treat each other with respect and dignity, even laugh at each other and smile at strangers … yet when you get home… you hide behind your keyboards and trash the same neighbors you smiled at minutes earlier over what? In our minds we hate people we don’t even know. Make no mistake here. Hate is hate. If you remember the way we used to be, to hate anyone for being different than you makes you by definition… a bigot. the definition doesn’t classify what type of people you can and cannot hate. When you impose that hate on another person you are in fact a bully. We are all real people, we all have real problems and we just don’t have time to deal with unattainable ideals, we don’t have time to worry about what other people support, what they believe in, or why. Every moment you spend trying to control someone else’s life or being angry over their beliefs, you are letting your own life slip away. One second at a time you are wasting your life and that is time you can NEVER get back. This is human stew, and I’m here to tell you to go fuck yourself. This is a bold statement, I’m aware. The statement isn’t necessarily meant to be taken literal, but more a statement of how we’re not going to walk on eggshells, and were not going to be apologetic. We prefer to exist in a world without hate, without hyper sensitivity, and without the destruction of another persons character. Simply put, were probably going to offend you, but it isn’t intentional. We are always going to interact with the world in a rational, objective manner. We truly hope you can do the same and listen, rationalize, contemplate and above all just be humble. Respect other people, all other people the way you expect to be respected… If you feel like you deserve to be treated a certain way, make sure you treat other people the same way… If you cant at least do that, go fuck yourself.
