If you are an Amazon seller, ecommerce entrepreneur, ebay seller or you want to learn how to sell online this Podcast is for YOU!What is an Awesomer? An Awesomer is someone who through a series of long-term actions and behaviors has demonstrated that they are not satisfied with normal. They are achievers to a penultimate degree in their own industry specialty or area of interest. There are no monetary criteria to be an Awesomer, in fact, many mega-wealthy people are not Awesomers. Some of them are Normies. Others are even Basics! Awesomers want to thrive; not just survive. Awesomers are trying to improve their lives and the lives of those around them. They are trying to make an impact, in whatever way they can, on the world. Many Amazon Sellers are awesomers. They took the Amazon FBA opportunity and they siezed the moment by taking action. If you are an Amazon Seller or interested in selling in eCommerce you should take a moment now and listen to all the Awesomer origin stories.Entrepreneurs solve problems in the world. They don’t create them. Awesomers are never done learning or improving. To become an Awesomer one must realize the journey to improve is perpetual. In other words, you don't arrive to the land of the Awesomer as a destination. Being an Awesomer means you are on the path of achievement for the sake of improving your life and those around you. Awesomers are 75% more likely to listen to educational or improvement podcasts.**What is a Normie?A Normie is someone who is stable and well established in life and ultimately is satisfied with the status quo. They don't want to rock the boat. They don't want to take risks. Normies are satisfied to survive. Normies are fine, just ask them. Awesomers have no problems with Normies. In fact, most Awesomers are surrounded by Normies who are their close friends and even family. More often than not Normies do not understand the plight of the Awesomer so they will warn the Awesomer to “be careful” or “don’t do it” or provide other guidance they mean to be helpful, but it is really just negativity that the Awesomer must overcome. We all know and love Normies and we are not criticizing Normies. We're only delineating some of the differences that exist between Awesomers and Normies. Normies are 84% more likely to listen to news about the Kardashians than Awesomers.**What is a Basic?A basic is someone who doesn't care about anyone which is often including themselves. They self-sabotage, they create problems, and they are not people that anyone should hang out with. They suck the life out of everyone around them by manufacturing drama, problems, or other nonsense. These people have chosen a path for themselves often by years and years of behaviors and actions which lead them to the life they have today; which is ok with us. We’re not judging. We just choose not to have our journey detoured by crossing the path of a Basic. (We also refer to this as the no A-HOLE rule.) 63% of basics have a cell phone only to play games, consume news or "vent" on social media.****The preceding statistics for each archetype above is 100% made up. We like to make jokes. But we'll always tell the truth and set the record straight. The Awesomers.com podcast, hosted by Steve Simonson, will showcase some of the amazing origin stories of Awesomers from around the world. There are so many truly inspiring stories from people from all walks of life, but most often the Awesomers that will be focused on will be those who are also entrepreneurs. We'll be launching in the last half of 2018 as we build the systems and a team to support this important effort. We hope you will join us for this exhilarating journey! Many of these awesomers are Amazon sellers who have built an Amazon FBA ecommerce business and have started to see positive financial and lifestyle results.

So the first thing I wanted to share with you is that you know we've been producing content faster than our audience can consume it. So in many cases, the average day of content output is around 60 minutes, yet we realize that you know with all your business going and all your daily activities and even other podcasts - I can't believe you listen to other podcasts instead of just me. But, no. Dare I say that there are other podcasts in this world that you're listening to. It's hard for everybody to consume and keep up with the output of our production, of our factory at Awesomers.com so we're gonna start breaking the show in the 15 to 20 minute segments. So even if I'm doing a long-form interview like the origin story which all parts of that are very interesting, we're gonna break that into again 15 to 20-minute slugs so that you can kind of download and consume it at a reasonable pace. And our mission is to deliver these daily podcasts because we want to give you something you can collect, something you can count on seven days a week.

So this is an Awesomers book of the week discussion and today we are going to talk about one of my very favorite books and I'm certainly glad to share this book with you. It's called the One Minute Manager Meets the Monkey. Now this is an actual an older book I think it was written in the late 80s. Maybe the most recent publication is late 90s but it's something that I've been aware of because we have used this type of book as a standard part of our management nomenclature for I don't know 15 or 20 years maybe. I don't really know how long, but a long time. As always with with these books I'd like to give a little bit of context right? So one of the things that is important to me about this book is that by defining some similar vocabulary within the organization and you'll find often that the books that we introduce are about sharing vocabulary with your peers, with your associates, anybody that's on your team. Everything about this episode will be right there, Awesomers.com/43. Today my special guest is Tom Jackobs. Now to say Tom has been through a few things in his 30-plus years of being an entrepreneur is an understatement. He's definitely had more failures than successes, but wouldn't have it any other way. He sold his fitness business which he owned for nine years. Now after he'd made that sale of that business, he went on to become the impact pilot, which is a business designed to help entrepreneurs generate more income through better selling strategy and using stories to sell. Man oh man, I can't tell you how much I love storytelling as a methodology of marketing and sales and communication in general. It's really really effective. Now tom has a BFA degree from DePaul University in Chicago and he holds his private pilot license for single-engine airplanes, which he's had a lifelong dream and he achieved that over five years ago. Now I wanted to say a side note, he doesn't try to have impacts in that part of his piloting, but for selling he wants a big impact. Now, he's been a contributor to CBS radio in Houston and a guest on Great Day Houston, Univision television, Fox 26 News and many other Houston-related TV programs. He's also been a presenter at the Small Business Development Center in Houston, Texas. Tom has a really unique way of kind of just cutting right through it and getting to the heart of storytelling. Every one of us, in fact you listening, you have a story to tell. This really is the genesis of the Awesomers.com podcast.

How To Use Strengthsfinder exclusive Podcast

https://awesomers.com/163 - show notesFocus on Strengths It's the single most important driver of team performance - and yet, less than 2 out of 10 employees strongly agree that they get to use their strengths at work every day.Steve Simonson and Michael Pinkowski share some of their strengths and talk through how those strengths impact their decision making and their careers. As entrepreneurs, we are usually not great managers and therefore we will often look for the easiest path instead of the right path when it comes to the supervision and orchestration of our teams. That typically means that we abdicate the responsibility and then we are surprised and even mad when the new hire didn't execute with excellence.Building a culture based on strengths is immensely more powerful than building it based on fear. As you focus on a culture of strengths you build skills and processes that can create a predictable result every time for the business. This is the key to growing in a sustainable way.Steve and Michael share some of their personal stories to help you understand how this data-driven philosophy works in real life.To get started goto: http://gobestrong.com/goTake the assessment, get the insider help videos and coaching from Michael. You might think of it as talkback or perhaps even back talk depending on who asks a question but either way we want to just talk a little bit about what's happening out there. One of the things that has has caused a significant amount of consternation in the Amazon world is this so-called review purge and the the change in terms of service at the end of 2016 created a whole series of events from Amazon trying to respond basically to some bad PR they got. I think it's the New York Times there's some big publication that said, hey everybody's gaming the system of reviews on Amazon and it's overt, it's naked, it's ridiculout. Why are you letting people get away with it Amazon if reviews are supposed to be credible and if that's supposed to be kind of your sense of trust with a customer.

And this is written by Kamal Ravikant, who is a brilliant writer but also a brilliant human being and a venture capitalist in real life. And I want to just start out by saying that this is a very quick and easy read so I didn't want to spend you know more time explaining why you should read the book than it would take you to actually read it yourself. But I want to just share a few words about why it's important to me and why I think it should be important to you. So first of all, I'm going to read the back cover to you because I want to give you a sense of where this book is coming from and even though this may not feel entrepreneurial, you know a lot of the folks out there that I interface with, we're in the business world, we're entrepreneurs, whatever. But remember that Awesomers are creatives of all kinds and so it doesn't matter if you're an artist or you're making a company or any variation you know. There's billions of billions of variations of being Awesomers so it doesn't matter where you're coming from. I still think it's an important thing in terms of maintaining a level of happiness and also remembering that we're also susceptible to the I don't know, the doldrums and even depression. And I think entrepreneurs are particularly susceptible to depression when momentum goes against us and so this book as simple as it may sound, to love yourself, that's the theme - spoiler alert, it is in fact called Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends On It but that theme is something that is not often discussed. And so this is a really important point that I hope you guys take home.
