Mark Wilson is a Consultant Neurosurgeon and Pre-Hospital Care Doctor. He is Professor of Brain Injury at Imperial College and the Gibson Chair of Pre-Hospital Care in the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. His area of interest is the hyper-acute management of brain injury and hypoxic brain injury. He has worked extensively overseas including with NASA (investigating intracranial pressure in Astronauts) and on many expeditions. He is a MERIT (Medical Emergency Response Incident Team) Doctor for the North West Ambulance Service, for which he has completed major incident training, and a volunteer responder for the Cheshire and Shropshire BASICS scheme. In this capacity he attended the Manchester Arena bombing in May 2017 as a volunteer responder.
