With Pablo... What's Good?

This week, we're going to dive into 5 of Denis Villeneuve's Films that leave us crying and begging for more, to get us as ready as we can be for his new Highly Anticipated Film, Dune.  Not knowing any of the Film's lore, and having not read the book at all, all I can do to prepare, is to watch all of his movies and try to get a feel for his directing style and watch the first 5 movies that came to my mind as a lead up to this Film.  We will start with Prisoners (2013), then go to Enemy (2013). Then we will touch on Sicario, then Arrival and then finish off with Blade Runner 2049. Over on Disney+ we have a great remake/reboot series that is vey new and still barking out some episodes, Turner &amp; Hooch. Over on HBOMAX we have a Throwback Series that I haven't seen in a long time, but just stayed as clever and fun as I remember watching it for the first time, Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.  Swinging over to Paramount+ we have a HUGE back-catalog of Movies and Shows but the show I recommend to you is anyone who loves Star Trek, Star Trek: Lower Decks. The jokes and cameos are as outrageous as the tribbles are cuddly. And finally, on Peacock I tell you all about a very cool and very soap opera-ie adventure show that premiered literally over 20 years ago and I dare say, it STILL HOLDS UP. In this week's episode we are Juicin' Around with James Gunn's newest Comic Movie set over in the DC Universe, "The Suicide Squad". Being one of two Directors to move from Marvel to DC, and being the 1 and only ONE to do it SUCCESSFULLY, we are going to dive in and try to figure out what exactly is so AMAZING in this film. Having rated it a SOLID 5 stars, it was definitely what I wanted all along. And in the second part we dive into a very morally and ethically pondering film distributed by the Highly Popular Distribution Company, A24; David Lowery's The Green Knight. Being a HUGE fan of A24's films, this one is just as good and it's not one for those who are looking for a Game of Thrones-esc Film. With Task Force X and an Honorable Quest

Starting our friendship (yes on the Discord as well) we have had many conversations between us as well as other friends as well, and it was just a matter of time until he was going to show up.  We start our conversation with a (somewhat deep-dive) spoiler discussion at the (04:08 minute mark) on DC's recent Crisis Event that literally re-started the beloved universe YET AGAIN, Dark Nights: Death Metal. Written by: Scott "Skull Crusher" Snyder, and Inked by: Greg "Constrictor" Capullo (these are given Nicknames created by them for themselves, FREAKING AWESOME), juicin' around with what we loved, what is crazy about it, why it is such a big deal, and why you need to read it immediately if you want to know what is happening in the DC Multiverse currently.   Then in the second half (at the 54:09 minute mark) we jump to a completely different Fan Universe and talk about Marvel Entertainment! Kicking off Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe on Disney+; Disney and the folks at Marvel gave us the most beloved Miniseries, WandaVision. As well as The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and ESPECIALLY the First Season of Loki. Today, on a not so great microphone, I'm coming at you, wherever it is you are, to give you a recommendation that I really think some of you will enjoy.  Written by Scott Snyder and Inked by Greg Cappullo, Dark Knight's Death Metal Graphic Novel has literally RESET the entire History of DC Comics. It takes us to different Crisis Events, it makes us care for side Villains and Supervillains we hadn't cared about before, whom we have maybe wanted to care for in the past.
