Rank #5: Three Man Weave - Mayo's Four Seasons In A Day & Hurling Red Card Nonsense

Podcast cover
Read more

Mark, Mick and PJ are this week's Three Man Weave as they take you through a busy, weather effected weekend of GAA.

PJ was in Castlebar for Kerry's visit to Mayo, who will be worried by their first half performance, while Mark saw a huge Clare win over his beloved Cavan, throwing the cat amongst the pigeons in a seriously tight Division 2.

In hurling, Tipperary's win over Waterford was overshadowed by three sendings off in the first half. Mick has a serious issue with Kevin Moran's red card in particular and what is says about the direction of the game.

Rank #10: The Buildup Football - Kevin Doyle On If Steve Staunton Was Hard Done By

Podcast cover
Read more

The Buildup is Balls.ie weekly podcast, with Ladbrokes, where we preview all the major sporting action for the weekend ahead. We'll be building the hype, whetting the appetite and making some bold predictions for everything that's happening.

This is the football section of the show where we talk to former Republic of Ireland international Kevin Doyle. With the near future of football and Ireland's trip to Bratislava uncertain, we talk to Kevin about playing behind closed doors, and about his own experience in Slovakia, when he scored probably his best goal for Ireland.

That was also the match after which Stephen Ireland left the Ireland squad for good. We ask Kevin if there was too much hysteria surrounding Steve Staunton's time as Ireland manager and if, in hindsight, he was hard done by?

Introducing our brand new weekly gameshow, a football quiz show where members of the Balls.ie team attempt to "Stump Fynchy"

Sean Fynch Meehan has ruined office quizzes for manys a moon now. Unfortunately, we are no longer allowed go to our office, so it's only fair we give him the chance to do it over the airwaves. With an impressive and hitherto useless knowledge of football, both mainstream and obscure, nobody has been yet able to Stump Fynchy.

On today's episode, Mick McCarthy and Gary Connaughton team up to set a score, answering rapid fire football questions. Sean then has to beat their combined score answering questions of his own.

(Any resemblance Stump Fynchy may have to the TV show The Chase is purely coincidental)
