Tom started it.  A revolution that makes learning applicable to the real world and grades obsolete.  But that is because the system itself is broken.  We all want to make sure our end user/client/learner/student ends up with more than just trivia, but applicable skills and a THING they can use after the class.

Jill, Paul, Tom, Diane, Andrea from the car and Maurice talked about DEI+ training in the library world, how you have to create an environment of compassionate curiosity, That DEI+ is HUGE, really huge and most get lost where to start dissecting and fixing the issue. The acknowledgement that these issues are part of the fabric and history of the US and the world.  That there needs to be a DEIGPT. (patent pending) Books are a means of oppression and not the only way to share cultural information.  Go to something free and learn about someone other than yourself.  Yeah, it was a lot. And I hope the start of something transformative for libraries.

I&#39;ve been participating in T is for Training since year 1, so I&#39;m a bit biased...but it also makes me critical.  Since episode 1, T is for Training (TIFT) has been focused on training and learning in all types of libraries.  Yes, sometimes we wander into other topics, but it is the topic of training-learning which keeps us coming back.  Yes, there have been episodes that wandered more than others, but we work hard to have a topic in mind and use that topic as our guiding star for the episode.  

Over the years, who participates in T has changed, yet the power of the conversations we&#39;ve had has not been diminished.  We work to accommodate anyone and everyone who wants to participate.  

Overall, I think it you want to know what library-related people are thinking of in terms of teaching-training-learning, this is a podcast that needs to be on your radar.  Most episodes are 60 minutes in length, making them good to listen to while out for walk, exercising, or driving.

Sparked by a conversation at the MDLIBTECH Conference we discussed ways of keeping vairous biases out of our training materials, classroom discussions, audience questions and our language as trainers and leaders.  What we learned is that it is really hard to do.
