An odd sensation

Maybe I should give another listen because whenever I see this I have a sensation that this was a twisted storyline. Not twisted in a perverse or deviant way; twisted in a way that someone, not necessarily the author, took elements of the plot and tied them around each other, backwards, sideways and however they could get things to morph. I probably won't listen again because I have so much in my fiction queue I take screenshots and store those. I don't store everything in Overcast because scrolling through the entire list is too cumbersome. (wow! Such a terrible definition of hard work!)

Awesome

With her death, the fantastic landscape has reduced to dust and a howling sandstorm engulfs the four remaining team members. But the storm also heralds the arrival of a terrifying entity – some devil-like creature. Saul Davisson and Gary Starling flee into the dust clouds, running direction-less until they fall from exhaustion. As the scientists at the Maunsworth Research Facility prepare again for the return of the team, an act of sabotage by Dan Earl leads to an explosion within the Accelerator Array that could strand the team in the Heavenfield...

The American Speers is manipulating fears over the Field in order to fund the creation of an American Accelerator Array, and build an army.
