Marketing For eCommerce with Bryan Bowman: Online Product Sales Strategies to Suffocate The Competition

On this episode of Marketing For eCommerce, I share with you the best system for achieving your goals - the OKR (Objectives and Key Results) tool. Success in entrepreneurship essentially comes down to 2 things: knowing what you need to be doing right now and staying focused on that one task. The OKR tool allows you to focus your time and energy appropriately. It works for me and my team, and I want YOU to benefit from this tool as well. What is the OKR tool and why is it successful? Before you can start talking about the marketing and tech stack tools your business needs, you need to know WHERE your business is headed and WHY you’re operating the way you are. Used by Google and small startups alike, the OKR tool allows you to reevaluate your time investments and ensure your team is staying on track. It’s a system that combines qualitative objectives with quantitative key results. The OKR tool can give you dramatic results when used correctly, and I outline the four main components to the tool on this episode - be sure to listen! Quadrant #1 - Overall objectives and key results Think of the OKR tool as a grid system with 4 quadrants. In the top right quadrant, you will list your overall objectives and key results. Remember, your objective is qualitative and is an overall goal or vision your company wishes to achieve. Your key results are how you will quantitatively and objectively measure progress on that objective. You’ll typically rewrite your entire OKR system every quarter, so these quadrants will be a guiding force for only 12 weeks at a time. Quadrant #2 - Top priorities that move you towards your OKRs In the top left quadrant, you’ll write down the top priorities that will help you move towards your main objective every week. These tasks can be written in a checklist format to encourage progress and stimulate visually motivated team members. Consider priorities that seem slightly out of reach but are attainable with the right amount of hard work and focus. Quadrant #3 - Big projects on the horizon Quadrant 3 in the bottom left is where your upcoming big projects are outlined. It’s easy to become hyper-focused on one goal while neglecting your previously scheduled milestones, marketing campaigns, product launches, etc. This quadrant will help you prepare accordingly for projects and prevent last-minute chaos. Methods for documenting projects in quadrant 3 are discussed on this episode, so be sure to listen. Quadrant #4 - Awareness of potential sacrifices The final quadrant in the bottom right is where you place potential sacrifices your team may make in pursuit of OKR success. For example, you could place a reminder in this quadrant telling team members to spend time with family in emergency situations or take care of themselves physically. If too many sacrifices are made, the morale of the team will be compromised and goals fall by the wayside. Always remember to care for and care about your team members. They should always come before company goals and progress reports because they are the backbone of your organization. Achieve Goal Setting Success Using the OKR Tool, Ep #14

This episode of Marketing for eCommerce holds my most critical piece of advice for eCommerce professionals: know your marketing math. If you don’t know key metrics such as gross margins, operating margins, and sales conversion rates you’re not setting yourself up for maximum success. Pay close attention to this episode because I share 4 key metrics that will help you monitor costs, scale your business, increase profitability, and blow your competition out of the water. Metric #1 - Utilize a sales funnel to out-convert any storefront There are 3 main ways to grow a business: get more customers, get those customers to spend more money on their first purchase, and get those customers to return for more purchases. Utilizing a sales funnel allows you to present specific offers to the right customers and close more sales. It’s a fact in eCommerce business that sales funnels will always convert more than any digital storefront avenue. Set yourself up for an explosion in business by learning the ins and outs of sales funnels and how they can positively impact your profitability. I explain this process in full detail on this episode, so be sure to give it your full attention. Metric #2 - Identify your average cart profit The average cart profit is how much money your company makes per sale. This figure is far more important than the upfront value of the products. When you are able to determine how much profit each sale brings in, you then can determine how much money you can spend on getting the customer to make the purchase. The real eCommerce winners are the ones who can spend the MOST on acquiring new customers, not the least. THAT’S how you suffocate your competition. This metric directly ties into metric #3, and you’ll understand them best by listening to this episode. Metric #3 - Recognize the lifetime value of a customer True eCommerce success stories recognize and appreciate the lifetime value of every customer. When it comes to building an online brand, there are lots of things you CAN do and a few things you MUST do. Every business model has absolutes built-in, things that you can’t do without if the business is going to succeed. On this episode of Marketing For eCommerce, I address those essentials - and I’m going to do it for three different types of people - those who are just considering an online business, those already selling but needing to firm things up, and those who are ready to blow the doors off and build their legacy. Before you begin researching or sourcing products, you have GOT to do this: Drill down and pick the niche you’re going to serve. Trust me, you have to dial it in. Why? Because people don’t have to compromise these days. They don’t have to settle for products that are sort-of like they want. They can get EXACTLY what they want because it’s out there - somewhere. You've got to BE one of those specific brands. So forget a general approach. Your competitive advantage is going small. Then, once you do, you’ve got to become obsessed with that market for a period of time. You need to eat, breathe, and sleep that market in order to find out the pain you’d be relieving, the problem you’d be solving, and the exact things people want from the products you’d provide. Once that’s done - commit. There are no shortcuts. It takes work. If that’s too scary, then business isn’t for you - at least at this point. In this episode, I also talk about how you can get started, no matter how little cash you think you have on hand. There are always ways to raise the cash you need. To build your existing online brand, there are 4 things you MUST do If you are an online seller and you’re doing even moderately well in the online marketplaces like Amazon, you’ve got to get started building your own thing. Amazon is mainly interested in Amazon’s profits, so you’re going to be limited there eventually. It’s time to start building your own online store. If you know enough about doing that to get started on your own, start by building a Shopify store on your own website. Do it today. Beyond that, you need to do these 4 things - in this order. #1 - Build an audience - then nurture that audience. I do this primarily through email and Facebook Messenger, but you can do it any way that fits you. Get phone numbers from your customers for all I care, but you have to start building a way to nurture a genuine, ongoing relationship with your audience that's independent of the marketplaces - because a business without a list is not a business. #2 - Create a systematic approach to turn your audience into customers Did you see that all-important word? SYSTEMACTIC. There has to be purpose behind everything you do, and one of the most important things in this stage is that your audience becomes buyers. It’s not easy, but it has to happen. Revenue is the lifeblood of every business. #3 - You must have a systematic way to maximize average order value Once you have people buying your products, you have to figure out ways to get them to buy more in every order. This happens through a funnel - a REAL funnel. Not just a landing page and a few upsells. You have to be intentional and systematic about it. There are many approaches to doing it, but regardless which one you choose, you’ve got to do it. #4 - Maximize frequency of purchase. Your best customers are your existing customers. Period. You have to build the kind of relationship and systems that build the kind of trust that gets your customers to buy again. It’s the repeating cycle that makes a business into a revenue-generating machine. What to do if you’re already selling and want to scale your online brand big? Here is the final person I’m talking to in this episode - the online seller who already has a decent online brand, who is already selling well, maybe even to the tune of 6 figures a month. But they want to take it really big this year. Heck, forget about this year - it’s time for these sellers to dominate the decade. How can it happen? First off, you need to ensure that every one of your systems is dialed-in and buttoned down. Fix any problems that exist in the way you are currently doing business. You can’t pour water into a cracked pool and expect it to hold water. So fix things that are broken. But assuming you have all that in place… It’s time to become obsessed with finding audiences full of your ideal buyers. That means building your own audience, borrowing the audiences of others, scaling up your ad spend in smart, test-based ways, going to or holding live events, reaching out to influencers and micro influencers - anything it takes to find and connect with your ideal buyers. Exactly What To Do To Go BIG With Your Online Brand - No Matter Where You’re At Now, Ep #41

What’s the best way to use your product marketing to connect with your audience? It’s all about painting a mental picture. Learn how to communicate your unique selling proposition most effectively. The key is using simplicity and familiarity. When introducing your product don’t overcomplicate it. How schema plays an important role in product marketing Schema is information in your mind that’s familiar. Think about if I were to ask you what a pummelo is. If you didn’t know the answer, I could describe it in great detail - the color, the texture, the taste. But it would be most helpful if I said it’s like a super-sized grapefruit. I tapped into your schema of grapefruit to help you understand what a pummelo is. You can do the same when describing your product to tap into what the buyer is already familiar with. What is an IKOLA and how can you use it to your advantage? Steve Jobs talked about using what he called “IKOLAs.” It’s an acronym for “it’s kind of like a…”  One of my favorite branding examples is Scrubbing Bubbles. In their branding, they use an IKOLA. They don’t talk about the chemical composition of the product. They help you visualize it by giving personality to these bubbles. It’s kind of like having small scrubbers doing a thorough cleaning job in your bathroom. It’s easy to understand and remember the product. Find out how to use IKOLAs in marketing your product and see the difference it makes. Make it simple. Don’t speak techno-babble “The quicker picker-upper”  “Just do it”  “Melts in your mouth - not in your hands”   These well-known product descriptions create images and emotions that we’re familiar with. They’re perfect examples of simple communication that creates desire in a customer. Speaking simply doesn’t mean dumbing down ideas. It’s a way to connect people with your product. In behavioral psychology, studies have shown that when people are confronted with a complex idea, it triggers an alert in their brains. This leaves room for doubt and confusion, hindering the decision-making process. You want your customers to say yes - not maybe. Don't give them a reason to look elsewhere. How to make your USP stick When you keep your marketing ideas simple, it helps you do two things - tear down barriers and tap into something your customers already know. It’s easy to understand, it makes them stop, and it gets their attention. Once you have their attention, trigger emotions that cause them to take action. Sadly, the vast majority of eCommerce marketers aren’t playing the Facebook marketing game the right way, simply because they don’t know the rules! Here’s How to Succeed Through Posting Ads on Facebook, Ep 7

If you are an eCommerce seller you MUST, MUST, MUST nail the issue of product differentiation. What is it? It’s figuring out what makes your product different from the others in your marketplace. Why do you need to know that? Because it’s going to dictate everything about how you market, how you refer to your product, how you iterate on what you offer, and more. eComm sellers who do not figure out how to differentiate their product will struggle with sales and eventually wind up washing out - because it’s almost impossible to sell something that is generic. On this episode, I reveal the process I teach my students that will enable them to create their own USP (unique selling proposition). If you take the time required to do this work, you will never regret it. Product differentiation is a way to position yourself against the competition If you want a real-life illustration of why product differentiation is vital, go to Amazon right now and search for the terms your customers would use in search if they were interested in buying your product. Go ahead - do it! What you’ll see is that there are many, many sellers trying to sell products similar to yours. Here’s the question you have to ask yourself: “Why should anyone do business with you given all the choices available to them in the marketplace?” You have GOT to answer that question - and do so in a compelling way - if you are going to be the seller they choose to buy from. THAT is why you have to discover your USP. This episode walks you through the steps of identifying YOUR unique selling proposition. When you identify your USP (unique selling proposition), you’re trying to make an "apples to oranges" comparison. Buyers are naturally going to compare your product to the others in the market. That’s what shopping is all about. You want to help them make the comparison by highlighting the things about your product that make it different and unique. You’re giving them reasons to pick your product over others. Ultimately you want to de-commoditize your product. Make it stand apart so dramatically that the buyer is making a clear choice in favor of your product for a specific reason. It’s not a decision of choosing between different kinds of apples, it’s choosing oranges INSTEAD OF apples. Find out how to make your products stand out like that, on this episode. Start with a features and benefits list to identify your USP The first thing you want to do as you attempt to identify what differentiates your product from others is to get out a sheet of paper or to pull up a blank computer screen. What you’re about to create is something you will go back to over and over to refine your USP throughout the life of your product. So create it in a format you’ll keep and be able to reuse. Make a list of all the features and benefits of your product - every single one you can think of. If you have others on your team, pull them in on this process. Once your brain is sore from thinking, identify the ONE primary benefit of your product that is unique to it. You want to figure out how to showcase it - and the process of doing so won’t be easy. It will take time and lots of rephrasing of your statements to get it right, but don’t give up. The work you’re doing will be the lifeblood of your marketing and messaging. Once you have it, bake your USP into everything you do surrounding the product - from product descriptions to naming, to how you advertise it. You want customers to have no doubt about why your product is a clearly superior choice in the market. Here are some of the ways you could differentiate your product Brand value/authenticity/ingredients - this is something you see done all the time with food or health supplement products. Coors is a great example - made with Rocky Mountain Spring water. As far as I know, that’s something no other beer company is able to say. Mission - this is something that Two Blind Brothers does extremely well. They sell shirts, but they do so for one reason: their profits go to stamp out blindness. It’s a way to make your product stand for something beyond its benefits to the customer. Faith-based - many companies bake in a faith component to what they do. Chick-fil-A and In and Out Burger are overtly clear about being “Christian owned” companies. It’s an intentional decision that is important to them and many of the people they serve. Veteran-owned - if a company or product supplier says they are veteran-owned, they are appealing to those who care about the country or want to support others who have given a significant portion of their lives to defend it. The company’s owners are also communicating that they are hard-working, reliable, etc. Price - I put price last on this list because it’s very difficult to use effectively as a differentiator. The only way you can leverage it is to promise that you’ll always have the lowest price available - as Wal-Mart does - and you can only make that promise if you have a process in place that enables you to always have the lowest price. The best marketing campaigns are impossible to run with no system in place. You must know where to start and what you’re aiming for. It’s also vital to know what is broken in your process, how to fix it, and ultimately, how to scale it. The goal of eCommerce sellers is to have consistent sales and a way to scale their business. If you’re frustrated with inconsistencies, I show you step by step how to build your ad campaign in order to drive traffic and boost sales. Find out why mapping out the process is vital to your success In order to get somewhere, you must first know HOW to get there. This is true not only when you’re taking a trip, but also when you want to get from point A to point B in a sales process. You MUST map out the whole funnel or process from the first touch point to the conversion. An example of a simple funnel might be something like this: the cold audience sees the ad that takes them to the product detail page. They click the ad and get to the product page. Some shoppers add to cart, some abandon cart, some go to checkout, and some actually buy. In order to map this or any funnel out, I recommend using a standard industry tool among marketers. It’s called Lucidchart. Using this tool, it’s easy to build a template that becomes the framework to follow. Find out how benchmarks are crucial in building your ad campaign After building the framework, you must have targets in place. The old saying is true, “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” After creating a map of your funnel, you must set up benchmarks. Maybe you’re uncertain what benchmarks to set. My solution to that question is to simply start with industry standards. Once you have those in place, you can start to build your own metrics-driven marketing system. Base your benchmarks on the following criterion: your average order value, product price, margins, and how much people are buying after that first purchase. In other words, the long-term value of your customer. Whatever your campaign is, you must know the targets and start heading in that direction. Learn how to become a numbers person and how to identify bottlenecks Once you know where you’re going, it’s vital to keep track of stats. This is the first thing I do every day at 8:00 a.m. This is what I suggest for a growing business - try it for thirty days. Write your daily, weekly, and monthly revenue on a board on the wall. Make it visible, but don’t do anything about it. You think about the numbers throughout the day simply because you’re aware of them. Try this and you’ll be surprised to see the numbers steadily go up. Not only are stats vital, but you must also identify bottlenecks. Conversions may be high, but there could be a point in the process where you’re losing a lot of traffic. You may have a lot of people visiting your site, but very few are getting through and buying. Look at the return on your investment. Whether you’re using return on advertising spending (ROAS) or advertising cost of sale (ACoS), it’s crucial to look at all factors before turning off a campaign. Once you find a bottleneck, you unclog the drain so more water can flow through and get into your last bucket - the purchase bucket. Implement this Process for the Best Marketing Campaigns, Ep #61

As an eCommerce seller, it’s crucial to build an effective online sales funnel that MUST start with a system. I’ll be the first to tell you Amazon is a great place to start and prove your concept. But it’s important to remember, you can’t have an Amazon-dependent business because you can’t have everything riding on that one platform. Listen to this episode where I show you how to build a system that not only results in a business that leverages the positive aspects of Amazon but also protects you. Put my system into place to build an Amazon-proof business. Why creating an audience is key to building a successful online sales funnel Because there are so many opportunities to sell on Amazon, awareness of the competition is growing and it’s becoming more urgent to know how to stand out. The key is knowing how best to build your business. I lean heavily on content in order to get people interested. As they gain awareness, they’re also gaining more connection to the product. Attention must be directed toward engaging the audience. Once interested, that is the best chance to convert them. The focus must be shifted from driving traffic to a long-term goal of creating an audience, then back to engagement. A captive audience is paying attention and is an ideal target for conversions.  How to build an audience effectively  There are a number of ways to build an audience. For many brands, some of the easiest techniques include blogs and articles. These get people interested and you’re able to plug them into your system. You can then start sending offers. Again, a number of ways to do this include email lists, messenger lists, and podcasts. Podcasts are one of the most untapped opportunities for eCommerce sellers. But before building anything, you must know what you’re building and why.  Learn these critical steps to building your funnel It’s absolutely critical to research your buyer persona and understand the competition. Learn who your buyer is and why they’re buying. This will greatly influence everything you do in your funnel. You must also learn who the competition is and what they’re doing to succeed. Model what they’re doing in your funnels, designs, and offers. Lastly, pick the right traffic source. Your best traffic source is dependent on the demographic. If your target is 40 to 70-year-olds, Facebook is the platform you use. If you’re targeting an audience of 30 or younger, Instagram is best. Test several audiences and creatives. Successful ads are a numbers game.  Funnels versus storefronts and why both are necessary Because there are fewer options, sales funnels typically have higher conversion rates. Fewer options is a general rule to help increase conversions. Give shoppers a deal and make it a simple yes or no option to buy. When people are given too many options they usually choose nothing. On the other hand, when using Shopify or other types of storefronts, this gives people a chance to immerse themselves in the experience. Storefronts are better for returning customers and gives them options to buy other products that can accompany the original product purchased.  The way I draw customers in is by using presale engagements. With presales, I give several visuals, handle objections, and show them how my product will benefit them. But it’s important to remember, you can’t have an Amazon-dependent business because you can’t have everything riding on that one platform. Again, a number of ways to do this include email lists, messenger lists, and podcasts. Podcasts are one of the most untapped opportunities for eCommerce sellers. But before building anything, you must know what you’re building and why.  Learn these critical steps to building your funnel It’s absolutely critical to research your buyer persona and understand the competition. Learn who your buyer is and why they’re buying. This will greatly influence everything you do in your funnel. You must also learn who the competition is and what they’re doing to succeed. Model what they’re doing in your funnels, designs, and offers. Lastly, pick the right traffic source. Your best traffic source is dependent on the demographic. If your target is 40 to 70-year-olds, Facebook is the platform you use. If you’re targeting an audience of 30 or younger, Instagram is best. Test several audiences and creatives. Successful ads are a numbers game.  Funnels versus storefronts and why both are necessary Because there are fewer options, sales funnels typically have higher conversion rates. Fewer options is a general rule to help increase conversions. Give shoppers a deal and make it a simple yes or no option to buy. When people are given too many options they usually choose nothing. Those that take off need a nudge from the founders. He emphasized the importance of aggressively marketing their products at the beginning. Here’s How to Differentiate Your Business to Make More Sales, Ep #36

Each of these tools goes back to a key principle I use in my eCom intensive. You must focus on four main levers to move your business forward. The key is to get rid of distractions and direct your attention to these essentials:  Getting leads Getting customers Maximizing average order value (AOV) Maximizing frequency of purchase  Increase sales and scale your business by directing your attention to these elements. It doesn’t matter what storefront you’re using, implement these simple things and watch your conversions skyrocket. I list a handful of things. But be sure to listen to this episode for more ideas and details. Why it’s vital to have a frequently asked questions page One of the things you can do inside your store is to have a frequently asked questions tab or section. It doesn’t matter where you put it. You can place it front and center in the main menu or as part of your footer. I like to put it in both places. One obvious reason you want this page is to answer your shoppers’ questions. But it’s also a way to handle objections to the sale. Before you build a store, drive traffic, or market your product, you must figure out your buyers. What motivates them and what are their objections to the sale? Frequently asked questions is an opportunity to address those things. When you know what their objections are, you can handle them before they become too big. This is a critical step in order for them to convert. Start a blog to build content strategy and bond with your prospects   Another crucial point is something I talked about in Episode 24. It was about education-based selling and how important it is. That is what a blog is for. It becomes part of your content strategy. It’s also a place to build relationships. There are so many people in the market selling products. It’s difficult to know if they’re legitimate or if the product is something they need. A blog is useful for having a conversation with your shoppers. It lets them know what you’re about, that you are aligned with them, and you understand where they’re coming from. That's the place you can use your education-based selling. Find out what products are selling best  Another key element is knowing who your best sellers are and knowing your numbers. Understanding the data is what sets eCommerce apart. You’re in the arithmetic business. In Episode 3, I talked about some key metrics you need to know. One primary thing is knowing what products are selling best. You must simplify the shopping process. Consumers shouldn’t be forced to search around for the best selling products. Make yours easy to find and easy to buy.  How you can increase awareness of your product by highlighting your propositions In Episode 2, I discuss propositions and how you can use them to show consumers why they should choose your business over others. Take every opportunity to highlight your propositions. Once you’ve defined them, they become your compass. No matter what you’re doing - creating a page, a listing, an ad; or even when you’re giving a refund - at every touch point, your propositions provide guidance. When giving a refund, it’s an opportunity for you to show buyers they’re safe to do business with you. It’s a chance to show your values. After they’ve returned the product and had a good experience with you, they’ll talk about it. That’s good for business.  Understand the importance of keeping everything congruent in your ads Another good thing for a business is consistency. When a shopper clicks on your ad, is your landing page congruent with it? If colors are different or the topic changes, people think something isn’t quite right and they’ll hit the back button. It’s the same thing in your storefront. Keep everything congruent - the feel, the colors. Make it a seamless experience all the way through. If you start mixing it up, it makes people nervous because it’s not consistent. We all like consistency and you need to take advantage of that. Beat Your Competitors by Having a Marketing Strategy Plan in Place, Ep #73

It may sound super simplistic for me to say that you can gain incredible eCommerce momentum from focusing on only two things. But wait until you hear what they are. These two things are the areas where major leverage can be exerted to move your business forward. I’m not going to make you wait, so here they are:  Exposure - people need to know about your brand and products Sales - you need people to buy your products  Listen to this episode to learn why these two are the things you have to be focusing on every day, how you can do each of them with maximal effectiveness, and why short sprints of all-in effort in these two areas can skyrocket your results. The myth of living a balanced life leads to mediocrity If you are one of those people who believe you can have it all, you need to wake up. The people who usually say that have already done the hard work required to give them the lifestyle they want. You can bet that during the season when they were scraping and scratching to build momentum in their ecommerce business, they definitely didn’t have it all. Your life cannot be balanced - not while you’re working your butt off to make your ecommerce business successful. You’ll spend seasons of your life grinding, working, pushing until you reach a specific pinnacle, then you’ll take a much-deserved break. I see too many would-be ecommerce sellers trying to balance their life, trying to have regular down-time when the things that will bring the success they want are being neglected. You need to set your mind for the hard work required and get busy. Success doesn’t happen by trying to live a balanced life. eCommerce momentum builds as people know your brand and buy your products There is an almost magical thing that happens as a brand becomes more and more known by the public. It takes on a mystique, a life of its own that appeals to people on a subconscious level. The very fact that Apple seems to be everywhere and that everyone seems to be using their products makes you think you should be using their products too. But that kind of exposure only goes so far in building momentum for your ecommerce business. You’ve got to actually make sales. As your products are purchased and as people begin to talk about their experience with it, the word spreads. The momentum you need to grow your ecommerce business rapidly is beginning to drive things forward. Listen to hear what YOU must do to make that happen. Overexposure is not going to be your problem, obscurity is If you think people are going to become sick of seeing your advertisements or promotional posts on Facebook or Instagram, you simply don’t understand how those platforms work. The instant you hit “publish” your post begins to decay. Fewer and fewer people see it as time goes on. Only a small fraction of your followers will be exposed to it by the time it’s done. You could post 6, 7, or 8 times per day and not be overexposed. So every day you need to be asking, “What did I do today to get exposure and create omnipresence in the marketplace?”That will help you stay on target and post about your products enough that people who are interested will have a chance of learning about them. Don’t let the fear of irritating people keep you from getting your brand out there. You won't be irritating them, you'll be helping them. What did you do to make sales today? In the end, if you don’t make sales you might as well not be in business. It’s sales that generate the outcomes you’re looking for. Every day you need to be asking, “What did I do to drive sales, today?” Obviously, you can purchase ads to drive traffic to your products. You’re paying for attention and traffic, getting your products in front of those who are likely to buy. But even if your ad budget is tapped out, there are other things you can do. Are you reaching out to bloggers, Instagram influencers, Youtube influencers, and fan pages? You may be able to come up with a cooperative effort that enables them to get subscribers or fans and you to have the opportunity to get your products in front of those fans. Are you posting on social? Are you creating videos or podcast content? Are you hitting up your email list and your FB messenger list? Every day you have the opportunity to wind up the ecommerce momentum that can make your brand successful. But only you can do it. Two Things That Create Enormous eCommerce Momentum, Ep #48

How can music relate to the fundamentals in business? If I tapped out the beat of a song, what is the likelihood of you guessing what it is? A study was done about this and it was expected that 50 percent of people would be able to recognize a song, but only 2.5 percent were able to identify it. You know all the time that went into choosing that product but others don’t. You know the melody of your “song,” while others just hear noise.
