Baron is a dynamic and influential teacher in the arena of spiritual, physical, and life transformation.  Among many other things Baron worked as coaching staff with the NFL team Philadelphia Eagles. Baron Baptiste is disrupting the drift with his new podcast and you will hear all about it in this episode + some lifetime jewels he shares with us. I can't wait for you to listen. Baron has a super interesting background. He is the founder of Baptiste Power Yoga, and the author of many books. He grew up in San Francisco, where he learned yoga from a young age.  His parents were the founders of San Francisco’s Yoga Philosophic Health Center in 1955. Baron is a dynamic and influential teacher in the arena of spiritual, physical, and life transformation.  Among many other things Baron worked as coaching staff with the NFL team Philadelphia Eagles. Accountability and Mindset with Ashley Deaton

Our guest today is Raghunath who has so much wisdom to share. He is a long-time yogi, spiritual teacher, musician, podcaster,and co-founder of Supersoul School and Farm. A teen in search of meaning, Ray Cappo fled his suburban Connecticut enclave for New York City — and found community among the misfits of Manhattan’s Lower East Side. He fell in love with punk rock, so he started a band, Youth of Today,and a record label. Success soon followed. By the late 1980’s, his bandhad thousands of fans, cementing Ray as a leading voice and trendsetter at the bullseye of hardcore culture. At the age of 22, he experienced a spiritual awakening and traveled to India to become a monk. After 6 and a half years, he began another successful band. 20 years ago, Nathalie and Raghunath met while they both worked at YogaWorks in Los Angeles. He never planned to become a teacher, but was always fascinated by spiritual openness. After moving to L.A., he realized he didn’t want to be a musician anymore, but yoga was a passion of his. He was asked to sub as a teacher,and his teaching journey began from there. After all this time, what does yoga mean for Raghunath? In the past, he was always interested in alternative lifestyles and clean living, but he never approached yoga as a specific way to “fix” one thing. It was always a search for spirituality. Now, yoga isn’t the whole meal, rather it is the condiment for larger feasts of the soul. We are spiritual beings that have a soul. The goal of yoga is knowledge of the Self. Who are you underneath your ego self? Underneath all the trappings of the false self, who is the true you? The body is a gift, but it is not all we are. All aspects of yourself need to be nurtured. Pedro Valente

Pedro Valente has been honouring the jujutsu tradition his entire life. Along with his brothers, Pedro runs The Valente Brothers Jiu-Jitsu Self Defense School in Florida. He joins Nathalie today to discuss the philosophy of jujutsu, tradition, and finding and accepting the flow of life. Pedro and his brothers began learning the art when they were young from their father, and by world renowned Jiu-Jitsu grandmasters Hélio Gracie, who founded the self-defence martial art system of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. At age 18, Pedro moved from Brazil to the US to attend the University of Miami School of Business Administration. Growing up, Pedro always knew that jujutsu would be a part of his life. The philosophy of jujutsu is as important as the practice, if not more, to Pedro. It can be applied to daily life and helps to build self confidence and self esteem. By building confidence in your physical abilities, you are building your self esteem and changing your perspective of yourself. You are seeing yourself with true worth. It is important to accept the flow of life and try not to resist change. Jujutsu roughly translates to ‘the art of flexibility’. Resisting life and it’s changes only adds friction and stops focus. Cultivate balance and be open to change. The world needs more confidence; insecurity only breeds conflict. Today’s guest is John Joseph. He is the lead singer of Cro-Mags and Bloodclot, as well as the author of three books: The Evolution of a Cro-Magnon, Meat Is for Pussies, and The PMA Effect. He is a triathlete, leader in the plant-based movement, and long-time yogi. John describes his rough upbringing in New York City, which involved drugs, fighting, and getting shot. The judicial system eventually offered him to either go to jail or to the Navy. He chose the Navy and he tells us that this really caused his life to begin its change. Rastafarians taught John that when you eat an animal, you are ingesting every second of that animal’s pain. There are so many options today; eating animals is unnecessary. John instills that in yoga, you must do what the shastra says. We don’t change the shastra to suit our lifestyle, we change our lifestyle because it’s what the shastra tells us to do. Though your path may not be the same on John’s, he believes that they can both be paths of goodness that help the world. #18 Food As Medicine - Dr Mignonne Mary - The Remedy Room 

We all have our own brand. It’s so far beyond just, for example, a logo. From Nathalie’s perspective, your brand is an expression and an extension of who you truly are, and that’s what this episode is about. Hopefully, you have chosen your brand, and it has not chosen you; you are not riding along on a belief system that you have agreed to but is not yours. In this episode Nathalie goes through ways that we can create from our own self, and while some of those methods may not always be comfortable, they will remove unnecessary energies that are around us. This allows us to get closer to our true self. Once we do find the connection with who we are and discover what we want to share with the world, Nathalie encourages us to do just that. Your Are Your Authentic Brand by Nathalie Croix   I could tell you to look at others in your field and see what they are doing... I've heard this many times before. I just don't believe in that. Not only I have never looked at what other yoga studios are doing, I always went as far as not wanting to know. Not wanting our studio staff to tell me during teachers meetings etc... The reason behind this is because I feel I am here on this planet to share from my own unique experience. I want to be me. As Oscar Wilde says " Be yourself; everyone else is taken." You are unique and we need you exactly as you are. How would you feel if everything was red in the world? Boring. Thank God, we have many colors ! Yay That's your brand. Your brand is you. Everyday you express your brand. With the words you use, the clothes you wear, the colors you choose.   Your social media is an extension of you.  Journal on these questions and ask yourself while creating your brand / logo / website, etc... Who Am I ? What are my favorite colors? Favorite yoga practice ? On the mat? Off the mat? What is your legacy? What do you want to say to the world? Who are the top three people who most inspire me from any walks of life ? Why do they inspire me ? Inspiration is very different than wanting to find out what a competitive business is doing so you can duplicate. .... which many people do just that. It's just not my way. I disagree with that way, because It will not feel authentic. I am here to ask you to think outside the box. Authenticity is the most important because it is at the heart of your Soul. Inspiration can lead you to who you are. I believe the reason why we get inspired by some is because, they, or " it " are representing a version of ourselves and by seeing this in someone else or something else it is simply a reminder of who you are. Like going back to source, soul family. Here are some journaling questions for you.... What lights up your day? What words better represent you? Remember your favorite day on Planet Earth , how did that feel to you? Can you go back to that feeling? Create from that sacred space. Create more scared places, experiences in your life. Every day gives you the opportunity to discover yourself. Use all of the above and create from this place of authenticity - You will find your brand ! Once you do, please do us all a favor and share it with the world. You will inspire others to become a better version of themselves. Remember the world needs you exactly as you are. Stay open to new ideas, stay open to growth. As time passes your brand may change, evolve or even transform into A NEW YOU. I have seen this many times. Embrace it. The only constant is change. The people in your life who love you will allow you to become who you are at every moment in life, even if that means they have to set you free. Not free in a way that you don't honor your commitments - no, not like that. Above all I am loyal to my commitments. See the more you allow someone to be who they are, the better they will show up for you. Not only they will show up as a better version of themselves but they will cherish you more. If they truly love you they will welcome the new you and overtime they will begin to understand you more and perhaps even be inspired by you. Maybe, just maybe, you will remind them of something so special and precious deep inside them that has been lost. How beautiful life can be when we allow flow in our lives and the lives of those we love. When that happens, don't be afraid to show up to the world as the new you. Be you. Change your logo if that's what feels right. Change it as many times as you need. Keep your feet on the Earth, as you look up to the skies.   Daily Exercise : Look at the mirror / look at yourself for ten seconds and say out loud " I Am Beautiful"   Let your light shine !

Why do they inspire me ? Inspiration is very different than wanting to find out what a competitive business is doing so you can duplicate. .... which many people do just that. It's just not my way. I disagree with that way, because It will not feel authentic. I am here to ask you to think outside the box. Authenticity is the most important because it is at the heart of your Soul. Inspiration can lead you to who you are. I believe the reason why we get inspired by some is because, they, or " it " are representing a version of ourselves and by seeing this in someone else or something else it is simply a reminder of who you are. Like going back to source, soul family. Here are some journaling questions for you.... What lights up your day? What words better represent you? Remember your favorite day on Planet Earth , how did that feel to you? Can you go back to that feeling? Create from that sacred space. Create more scared places, experiences in your life. Every day gives you the opportunity to discover yourself. Use all of the above and create from this place of authenticity - You will find your brand ! Once you do, please do us all a favor and share it with the world. You will inspire others to become a better version of themselves. Remember the world needs you exactly as you are. Stay open to new ideas, stay open to growth. As time passes your brand may change, evolve or even transform into A NEW YOU. I have seen this many times. Embrace it. The only constant is change. The people in your life who love you will allow you to become who you are at every moment in life, even if that means they have to set you free. Not free in a way that you don't honor your commitments - no, not like that. Above all I am loyal to my commitments. See the more you allow someone to be who they are, the better they will show up for you. Not only they will show up as a better version of themselves but they will cherish you more. If they truly love you they will welcome the new you and overtime they will begin to understand you more and perhaps even be inspired by you. Maybe, just maybe, you will remind them of something so special and precious deep inside them that has been lost. How beautiful life can be when we allow flow in our lives and the lives of those we love. When that happens, don't be afraid to show up to the world as the new you. Be you. Change your logo if that's what feels right. Change it as many times as you need. Keep your feet on the Earth, as you look up to the skies. Daily Exercise : Look at the mirror / look at yourself for ten seconds and say out loud " I Am Beautiful" Let your light shine !

Before beginning, she alludes to some forthcoming episodes that she is looking forward to sharing. We hear about Nathalie’s recent trip to Colorado and how she has learned to face her fears there. We all have things that make us uncomfortable, and Nathalie speaks to why it’s important to conquer them. Facing your fears brings excitement into your life. A question that’s important to ask is, “what is your life’s work?” Nathalie suggests we write a mission statement for our life. When we conquer our fears, we create a drive in our lives. When we have a drive we don’t, we’ll loose momentum. Do not be captive to your fears. Nathalie discusses different fears that people have, and from her perspective advice for overcoming them.
