Listen in and see where we land on this one. Enjoy!

Cinemental_091 - Dean Haspiel (part two) - Spring Breakers

For the second part of writer/artist/raconteur Dean Haspiel's visit, he delivers unto us a cautionary tale wrapped in the shiniest paper imaginable. With an absolutely mesmerizing performance by the chameleon James Franco, and a bunch of Hollywood next-gens, this film is nothing that I expected and I would hope after hearing our discussion you'd give it a chance as well.  Check it out and enjoy.

Cinemental_090 - Dean Haspiel (part one) - Reflections in a Golden Eye

Writer/Artist and friend of the show Dean Haspiel returns to Cinemental with two more polarizing films to discuss. First off, a little-known (at least by us) film by John Huston starring Marlon Brando and Elizabeth Taylor called "Reflections in a Golden Eye". An interesting tale of a closeted military man in the American south in the late 60s.  It's a film worth viewing to make your own decisions about it for sure, but regardless you probably will not forget it. Listen in and enjoy!

Cinemental_067 - Dean Haspiel (part two) - The Incident

In my own knowledge of cinema, it's always a little surprising when a guest brings us a movie I have honestly never even heard of before, especially when it sports a cast of this magnitude and was (almost) released in my lifetime. However, Award-winning Writer/Artist Dean Haspiel did just that with this week's episode. A little film from 1967 called "The Incident". A gritty, dark and subversive film about a NYC subway car filled with folks who just wanna get home and are forced to endure a night none of them will ever forget. Give it a try, if you can track it down. It's an experience YOU won't soon forget. Posters we discuss can be viewed at cinementalpod.com
