Hello dear friend! Today we are talking about Vermicious Knids, characters from Roald Dahl’s,  1972 book, “Charlie and the Glass Elevator” which is a sequel to his "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" book.Today, I’m going to be linking these fictitious creatures back to my own idea of how our thoughts and feelings can be Vermicious Knids, of our own creation, especially when it comes to our patterns of self-sabotage. They are the thought aliens we keep in residence, and just like the Veracious Knids in the story, they are deadly, destructive creatures.In this episode, I'll give you a little literary history on these creatures and discuss their physical presence and personalities. Then we will compare how these vicious little villains show up in our own lives and what we can do to minimise their violent attacks. Below I've included the Etymology of the names Dahl created, a link to the summary of the story I read in the episode and a link to learning more about Cnidaria- believed to be the basis of the word Knid. This weeks quote comes from Roald Dahl himself and it's on the importance of kindness.  I believe that practicing self-kindness is the ultimate take down of the Vermicious Knids of our own making.  We won’t necessarily stop the Vermicious Knids coming through from time to time - but every time we show ourselves kindness and patience and self-love, we make the spaces for their re-entry into our lives, fewer and smaller. “Kindness – that simple word. Along the way, we discuss how to climb Rooty Hill, how no one actually had the Ninja Turtle Van, and how when strange things happen, you’re going Round the Twist.  Signature Cocktail: the Suffering Bastard  Originally conceived as a hangover cure, this drink is full of mysteries, magic, and the secret whisperings of the world.    1.5oz botanical gin 1/2oz Bourbon, or Southern Comfort for a sweeter drink juice of half a lime bunch of mint 3oz ginger beer  Combine the gin, bourbon, several torn mint leaves, and lime juice in a shaker of ice, and shake vigorously for 30 seconds, until the outside of the shaker frosts over. Take a large sprig of mint, hold it between your hands, and clap twice. Rub the mint on the inside of the glass before dropping in. Pour the contents of the shaker into your prepared glass.
