Ep 581 Jim Goza, Jesus Saldivar, Josh Gangaware

Josh Gangaware is a personal trainer based out of South Florida. He has been training clients for 10 years, running the spectrum of demographics. At this point, Josh works primarily with men between the ages of 35-65, typically with low back or shoulder pain, and who enjoy/want to perform better at golf. Josh grew up in Upstate New York. His whole life, he was an athlete. He would play any and all sports, but excelled at baseball and golf. While he was confident playing sports, Josh was a really skinny kid (6’2, 145lbs) and didn’t have a ton of confidence outside of that. He still remembers a friend of his (a girl) making fun of him because she had bigger arms than he did. Josh went to college at Coastal Carolina University, where he majored in Physical Education. By the time he got to his internship, Josh realized the teaching route wasn’t his real passion; he wanted to work with athletes. That was when he realized that having athletic ability wasn’t enough, he needed to look the part, too. Josh started working out regularly during the final semester of his senior year of college to get himself to look like he could actually be a strength and conditioning coach for athletes. (don’t get him wrong, he wanted to look better for the girls too). When Josh started, he was afraid of looking stupid in front of other people, so he didn’t even workout in a gym. He had a couple dumbbells, a curl bar, and a pull-up bar and worked out in his bed room. When Josh got to grad school, he finally broke through the barrier, and started working out in the Rec Center. This is where his love for lifting heavy shit was born.
