National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed for CNN Anderson Cooper 360 by producer Diana Miller, on April 23, 2008. This was 20 days into the ongoing news cycle of the FBI raid on the FLDS cult in Texas on April 3, 2008. This hour-and-a-half long interview provides extensive information and soundbites. In the end, although the producer was positive and polite, the decision-makers at CNN only wanted a circus act (a "Circus Acts Request" - C.A.R.). Moreover, they only wanted this to be a taped interview. Mark Henkel insisted that he would have to be on a live-interview first before doing any taped interview with their network - because CNN would have to first build trust. At that time, it was 3 weeks into the news cycle about the FLDS; yet CNN had still not yet reported anything about actual and normal UCAP, Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy, or about the national movement's vehement opposition to the FLDS, Warren Jeffs, and all the underage crimes. So, Mark Henkel declined if it was only going to be taped for this first time. Yet, the producer was going to try to see what she could do. For soundbites, at one point, Mark Henkel even referred to the FLDS as "communist cult" because of the authoritarianism of any sect that allows some "leader" to make their decisions for them. Ultimately, CNN once again proved to live up to what Mark Henkel referred to as "manufactured news corporations," long before the term "Fake News" was applied to CNN by others over the next decade afterward. July 21st: Diana Miller Killed (2006) As parents, we know that at some point or another, we are going to have to bail our children out of some kind of trouble. For most, it’s something simple like a speeding ticket, or a much needed loan after poor spending. But, for some, like the Millers, their bailouts were for things like drugs, $7,000 worth of problems, and caring for her when a car accident left her disabled and back home. But they did it, because they loved her. And, on July 21st 2006, Diana Miller would bail her daughter out one last time and this time, it would cost her her life.
