He also has been actively involved in civic affairs, serving as president of both the Chicago Office of Tourism and Culture, and the Christian Community Health Center in Chicago, and a member of the Illinois African-American Family Commission. Further, Barclay is a friend and advisor to many business owners, corporate executives, pastors, and civic leaders. Generous and compassionate, and in spite of his demanding schedule, Barclay has served as a teen Sunday School teacher for more than 20 years. Barclay is a member of the National Bar Association, Cook County Bar Association, and the Chicago Bar Association. Lester L. Barclay lives in Chicago with his wife, Dr. Sue Barclay, and their three children.
