095: When Events In The World Wake You Up with Amy Johnson & Barb Patterson

Real Business Real Lives

This week’s episode is a conversation between myself and Amy Johnson. It’s a different type of conversation because Amy and I share how the recent death of George Floyd, the protests and unrests in the United States and the Black Lives Matter movement has impacted us both deeply. This conversation takes place as we are both just “waking up”. It is clear we have a lot to learn and we are doing our best to listen deeply. We do not pretend to be experts or to have this figured out but we wanted to have the conversation in the hope that others in our communities may find value in being on the journey with us. Taking stock, looking at what we don’t know, listening to the voices of others while aligning to our deeper wisdom is helping us find our way. This is the beginning for both of us. I am forever changed by these events. I do not want to be your friend, guide, teacher and mentor in the easy times only. I’m here for it all including when I am clearly a student and in my own process. That said, I know we can learn and grow together. I’m grateful to have you here. As always.

Barb Patterson – “The Impersonal Coming Through Us”

The Relevance of Sydney Banks' Role

On this episode, we spoke with Barb Patterson. This was a kind, soulful and enjoyable conversation with somebody who didn't meet Sydney Banks in person but expressed such a feeling of respect for him and her teachers who "Stay the Course." At certain point in the conversation she expressed, "He (Sydney Banks) brought the depth of the feeling, meaning the truth of who we are... invisible yet essential."  About Barb: As someone who has moved overseas to pursue opportunities in my past, as well as years of running a successful coaching & consulting business of my own. I understand how to navigate transitions gracefully, take risks, and make big life changes. I know what it takes to create a business that has wide-spread impact and leverages expertise and passion in service to others. In addition to building a successful consulting and coaching business, I mentor and train other coaches and consultants to build their own practices, and teach the same principles that were the catalyst for my own transformation. 075: How to See Yourself & Your Business Fresh with Barb Patterson

Real Business Real Lives

Today I’m sharing a talk I gave last summer at the Mid-Year Reset & Refresh workshop, led by Angus & Rohini Ross, Amy Johnson, Scott Kelly & myself. What if you already have everything you need to create the life and work you desire? What if the answer is already alive within you? In my talk, I explore the topic of work & purpose through the lens of this understanding. When we go beyond our limited ideas of who we are we tap into new depths, new capabilities and have a whole new experience of ourselves in the world.
