Show Notes: Folk music icon Tom Paxton's music career spans more than sixty years. In 2009, Paxton received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and in 2019 he released his 65th album Live! with The Don Juans. Paxton, now 82, has met everyone from Pete Seeger to Bob Dylan, and many musicians have covered his music. When I reviewed his April 2015 Berkeley concert, he announced he was done with touring, but that was a short-lived idea and he returned to the road shortly thereafter. This podcast bonus episode features an interview I did with Tom on October 1, 2020, and focuses on his upcoming livestream concert with The Don Juans on October 5, 2020 (ticket info below). Additionally, I asked him about the backstory for two of his classic originals “Ramblin’ Boy” and “Did You Hear About John Hurt.” You can find Songs & Stories on all major podcast platforms including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts. It also airs weekly on KONA 100.5 FM in Kailua, Kona.
