Today we are speaking with one of our authors in the upcoming release of Every Body Holds A Story, Jillian Price. Jillian Price lives in London, Ontario, Canada, and is a wife, mother of two, and senior executive working for a large national company in the field of Audiology. She has spent most of her life immersed in education, first as a student herself earning degrees in Psychology and Communication Sciences and Disorders from Western University, and later as an instructor teaching students and mentoring young graduates entering the profession of Audiology. She is passionate about education and sharing her knowledge with others. In her free time, Jillian finds joy in simple things. An impromptu kitchen dance party, watching movies, intimate gatherings with close friends, and spending time with her family are her favourite pastimes.In this episode we discuss. 1)  Jill shares her journey through breast cancer at a young age, and how she became an investigator to find as many possibilities to support her emotional and physical health during her treatment.  2)  Jill’s writing process, how she dove into the experience and how she learned to trust the importance of her story in supporting others to not feel alone during their diagnosis.  3)  How Jill came to be in the collaborative book, through a connection of her sister’s reels and presence on instagram. Ep 64: Emotional and Physical Health Are Always Connected with Jillian Price

Hearing loss affects many adults as they age. While the impact of hearing loss on health is varied, the relationship between hearing and cognition is notable. When it gets harder to hear information, you have to recruit additional brain areas to help you understand what you're hearing. A 10-decibel difference in hearing is equivalent to being two years older in terms of mental performance (e.g., memory). Identifying and treating hearing loss should be a priority because of its impact on cognitive decline. We have all felt the impact of Breast Cancer at some point in our lives - with our mothers, our grandmothers, our friends, our clients and maybe even ourselves.  Give it up for Jillian Price, who shares her story of surviving breast cancer and how she navigated through the process, finding solutions not often talked about.  There are so many important takeaways in this episode, along with some valuable advice that all women need to hear.  (Thank you Jill, for inspiring me, and now, so many others)   Jillian Price, M.Sc, Aud (C), Reg. CASLPO Chief Audiologist HearingLife Canada Jillian graduated with a Masters degree in Audiology from the University of Western Ontario in April 2004. Upon graduating, Jillian joined the company and began working in London, Ontario and in  2013, accepted the role as Chief Audiologist.  Jillian has 16 years of experience working with the adult population in a busy clinic.  Her role as Chief Audiologist allows Jillian to do what she really loves which is helping those with hearing needs and speaking to the public about hearing loss.  She is passionate about hearing awareness, hearing loss prevention and rehabilitation.  Through the Campaign for Better Hearing, Jillian is able to educate Canadians about hearing loss and early detection as well as help those in need through the give-back program; something Jillian and the rest of the staff are so excited and honored to be a part of.  She also enjoys time with her husband and two beautiful children.    Their mission is to provide individuals who have a hearing loss with the most professional, comprehensive and convenient hearing healthcare services, including high quality, affordable hearing aids, and the counseling and assistance they need to enhance the quality of their lives through better hearing
