Thinking Outside The Pod On Homelessness with Justin Westhoff & Scott Rogash
Young Blood - Men‘s Mental Health (video)
Justin Westhoff is a former AFL star, but that’s not why he's on the podcast... For the past 5 years Westy and his business partner Scott Rogash have been working on a revolutionary concept that could completely change the lives of many people experiencing homelessness. They’re building compact, minimalist homes known as pods that can be placed together in vacant blocks of land to form micro-communities. But it goes much further than accommodation - these communities will be fully sustainable and host all the services necessary for someone to meet their needs and change their life for the better.
Justin Westhoff - Port Adelaide Defender, discussing the positives of the Government's exemption for contact training in SA, delaying both Adelaide club departures to QLD by a couple of weeks See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Port Adelaide Footballer Justin Westhoff joined Rowey & Bicks to discuss his thoughts on the AFL hubs and how he has been going during the postponed season. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Building A Social Enterprise With Justin Westhoff And Scott Rogasch
Be The Drop
Across the globe, organisations known as a 'social enterprise' are on the rise. According to Social Traders, these are businesses that trade to intentionally tackle social problems, improve communities, provide access to employment and training, or help the environment. Forage Supply Co, established by two friends, Justin Westhoff and Scott Rogasch, is a social enterprise focused on environmental sustainability, building opportunities to help people live sustainably, and with a driving goal to deliver services that help reduce homelessness. They deliver a range of sustainable products including Barossa Valley wines, vegan food trucks and ethical clothing. Their latest project is focused on building off-the-grid housing to help reduce homelessness. In today's episode of Be The Drop, Justin and Scott share how they brought together their passion for environmental sustainability and a desire to provide meaningful support to the Hutt Street Centre, to create their social enterprise. They also discuss how they balance the need to make a profit to grow their business whilst at the same time donating time and money to support others in need. ---- Considering starting your own podcast?
