This week we talk to Ms Pnina Fenster, the editor of Glamour magazine. We discuss some of the operational challenges experienced by contemporary editors of women’s magazines in the 21st century, and the depth of responsibility Ms Fenster has to her readers in pursuit of making women’s lives better. In our discussion on attaining gender equality we reflect on the ability of humankind to change; by changing individuals communities change. We remark that women have made significant strides, and today exercise more power than ever before, despite the women’s liberation movement being relatively young. Political equality is one milestone, but economic equality is sorely needed to empower women sustainably. We remark that women and men tend to be judged differently because of their gender, instead of their competence, and legislation is needed to prevent prejudices. Tune in for more…
