In this episode Co-Founder &amp; Co-Director of Urban Voices Project, Leeav Sofer is the first guest ever for a virtual Real Good Stuff. Leeav talks with Scott about Urban Voices Project 3rd virtual performance of the year, how he said "Yes" to working on skid row with music, &amp; how music connects us to one another. Every Wednesday at 4pm Urban Voices Project hosts a Neighborhood Sing. These gatherings pre-pandemic happened at the Wesley Health Center on San Pedro in Skid Row. During the pandemic we transferred all music classes, choir rehearsals &amp; Neighborhood Sings to zoom calls. Out of this was born a virtual choir performance in the early summer &amp; now we are hosting our second one August 23, 2020. Look to the Rainbow. Music Is the Bridge: Urban Voices Project with Leeav Sofer

Presented by Leeav Sofer and Kate Richards Geller. This special musical event will focus on empowering individuals to “find their voice” battling many cultural, ingrained stigmas of “I can’t sing”. With mindful practices and song, we will also address the theme of empowering providers to bring music and art into their practice both for self-care as well as for their clients, even if they are feeling that they lack the tools to do so. Finally, we will explore how this theme doubles as a means to unleash the voice of the oppressed.
