The Economic Impact of Suicide with Brad Hearst

Suicide is a growing problem, especially amongst middle-aged fathers. This month, which is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, I wanted to dedicate an episode to this growing epidemic. Here are some shocking statistics:  Every twelve minutes a life is lost to suicide Every day 117 people take their own life For every suicide, there are 25 attempted suicides There are nearly 43,000 suicides committed in our country each year Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the United States Men are 3.5 times more likely to commit suicide than women  With numbers like these, this is an issue we cannot ignore and a conversation we must have. My guest today is Brad Hearst. He is the founder of Survivors Joining For Hope, an organization he founded to help those who have been impacted by suicide.
