Alyssa Rippe-May is the livestock production and farm management agent in the Twin Creeks District, which serves Decatur, Norton, Sheridan and Graham counties in northwest Kansas. Her office is in Oberlin. She talks with us about how K-State Research and Extension agents participate in a wide variety of applied research projects, how she and her colleagues often work with peers in Nebraska and Colorado, and how that network of expertise helps her serve the people of her district. Alyssa also tells us about what it’s like to work in the area where she grew up and, as someone who recently started working as an extension agent, she has tips for brand-new agents.
