#28 Laura Wells - Learning what you're good at by accident and making the most of it.

The Fair Food Forager & Friends Show

Growing up in the southern suburbs of Sydney Laura Wells didn't know she could be or succeed at being a model. She also didn't exactly feel comfortable with wildlife. A decade or so later, she is a very successful model for brands such as Garnier and loves animals. We talk about Laura's accidental entry into the modelling world, her Marine Science degree and using her platform and scientific knowledge to educate adults and children on respecting nature and its systems. Laura is also on the board of The Surfrider Foundation Australia and continues to campaign against fossil fuel developments in our oceans. Laura does an amazing job at not taking herself too seriously and while we discuss some important topics in this episode, its very light and casual. I think you'll enjoy this show.Linkshttps://citizensgbr.orghttps://www.laurawells.com.auInstagramTwitterFacebookYoutubeContribute to the showSupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/fairfoodforager)

18 | Laura Wells, when plan B becomes plan A

MLM, you decide

Laura and Janine talk with Laura Wells…one of the first people to embrace building a Network Marketing business through social media.  Laura became a military wife at a very young age.  Her journey in Network Marketing started out as a way to have a little extra fun money.  Then a defining moment came for her to take her business more seriously when her husband was laid off and her family found themselves on food stamps.  Laura’s story exemplifies the benefit of having this type of business during those unexpected curves that life often includes. Laura talks about being a cancer survivor and how grateful she is for the lifestyle that Network Marketing has afforded her today.  Laura is all heart; we think you’ll enjoy her story as much as we did.

Laura Wells and Lottie Dalziel – living your best eco life and showing the planet some love

Uninterrupted by Women’s Health Australia

Why is doing our bit for the environment so important? What easy moves and eco swaps can we make that'll actually make a difference? Why are we all plogging every weekend – and what the heck is that anyway? Here to chat about all this and more, our latest guests are some of the most passionate and driven people we've met when it comes to sustainability and showing the planet some love. First up, Laura Wells. A presenter, model, climate activist and ocean lover, Laura uses her platform to advocate for social and environmental change. With degrees in biological science as well as law, she’s worked with the likes of Greenpeace, WWF Australia and The Boomerang Alliance, and is about empowering us all as individuals to make a difference. We also have Lottie Dalziel, who actually used to work on the digital team at Women’s Health. Alongside her day job with us, she launched two businesses. One of those is Banish, an online education platform and store selling eco-friendly products. Lottie was inspired to create it after taking on her own 31-day waste less challenge – something we’ll talk more about later. Earlier this year, she took the leap to focus on Banish full-time, so it’s great to catch up with her back at Women’s Health HQ.Show notes:Check out Laura, Lottie and Banish on InstagramRead up on the microplastic threat to Sydney HarbourGet composting with ShareWasteLearn about the Guppyfriend Washing BagHow to make your own make-up wipesPlogging – the fitness trend you need to try6 surprising facts you never knew about menstrual cupsFind out about Sea Cleaners organisation in Hawaii and New ZealandBrands that Laura and Lottie love for their sustainability efforts...Kit XFirst BasePatagoniaMount FranklinSunRiceFor more from Women's Health Australia, check out @womenshealthaus and womenshealth.com.auSee acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
