"There's a price to speaking, but also a price to silence, when you have something to say. Hopefully you get to pick your price."

One of the biggest pleasures in life is mentoring.
Where you're bringing out the best in you, to serve the best in others.

Often we think about finding meaning through the work that we do, where our work hopefully has positive impacts on the world.

However, another form of finding meaning through the work that we do, is the mentoring of people you work with, helping them become the best version of themselves, is another way to help find meaning.

It’s impossible to find someone that isn’t privileged in some manner. In some sense, the only person who's not privileged is the one suffering more than everyone else.
The issue is there's too much attention spent on how privileged a person is as opposed to whether or not their ideas makes sense.

When we focus on people's privilege instead of their ideas, we move away from productive conversation that actually can help those less privileged into just shaming and blaming people.

3

When it comes to speaking up, there's a balance of duty to the truth and duty to their family.
Both of these are important, so there shouldn't be judgement as to what one decides to prioritize.

Many people aren't in the position of speaking up even if they disagree in certain situations, simply because their job which provides food for their family becomes at stake.
