Quote

"If we don't fight for the people who don't have voices, as free people. Who will fight for us when we are not free?"

Ideas

1

Those who control language, control the masses.
We think in words, so controlling language controls thoughts.

People in North Korea were purposely not taught words like stress and trauma, so that they didn't have ways to express these feelings through their suffering.

They weren't taught the word "love", except for the context of loving their leader, so they didn't know what it meant to love.

2

You can't fight to be free if you don't know you're a slave.
In North Korea, it only took a few generations for the government to completely rewrite history and the current state of the world. Those who knew the truth were afraid to speak up, and the new generation were only taught a fake reality.

The most heartbreaking thing is that people in North Korea don't even know that life could be free and beautiful; because they've never known anything other than their own suffering.

3

Freedom isn't guaranteed, it's fragile and gets taken away from us if we don't fight for it.
We're so used to having freedom that we think that it'll always be there.

But all of the freedom that we do have, has been fought for, by those that came before us. Without that fight, the world would still be filled with slavery, inequality and suffering.
