HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHAHAHAHAHAH'WHATS UP CREEPS?! (Get it, that was a spooky clown laugh leading into our typical intro!)

Welcome to this scarifying installment of the Horrorfied Podcast! This week, we're assembling a croup of old friends to take down a space spider clown light demon in the sewers of the coastal town we grew up in!

That's right, we're talking about the hit book turned movie turned upcoming remake, IT!

Join us on our soggy adventure as we, together - as a unit, go sewer spelunking to kill a demon with a pair of silver earrings.

You think that sounds ridiculous? Well it actually happens in the story. Thanks a bunch, coke-fueled Stephen King circa 1982.

This episode was CRAAAAAZY long so - keep your peepers open for Part Two coming next week (we're breaking bi-weekly formant JUST FOR YOUUU!)

So strap on your galoshes, throw on your best rain coat, and bring your paper boats. Lets go adventurin'!

As always EEEENJOY and we'll see you on the flippity.

See how cool we are? We use outdated slang.

H'whats up, Creeps?!

When Xack is away, the Podcast must... panic and produce as much content as humanly possible while we still have time. Last week, we released the second episode from our marathon recording day. When we produced the "Human Centipede" episode we were already quite exhausted and what you got was an hour about anal bleaching. Sorry, not sorry.

The first episode we recorded was the one you'll hear today on 2014's "The Babadook."

"Babadook" was another one of those odd cultural horror phenomenons that exploded in popularity as soon as it wormed its' way into the consciousness of the public. Quickly moving to the top of "scariest films of the year" lists, it became the "thing to see" of 2014.

A mother, her child, and a stalking enemy that strives to tear them apart from the inside is the perfect recipe for a spoopy movie.

This week, as always, we discuss the plot of this Australian horror masterpiece, break down the "but what does it all mean?!" of the film, and talk about why it totally works but sort of doesn't.

We wrap up our show with a discussion about the "real" monsters of the Outback (watch out for Drop Bears) and thoroughly insult our Australian listeners (we're so sorry).

Eeeeenjoy!

Music this week is provided by The Far Stairs out of Denver, CO. Check out their wonderfully eerie music at www.thefarstairs.com! Thanks guys!

Rank #4: Horrorfied Episode 37 - The VVitch Part 1 or; The Episode That's Two Weeks Overdue

Podcast cover
Read more
H'what's up Creeps, we're finally back after a two week hiatus in which we wrestled with various curses, health problems, and vermin infestations.

Holy hell are we rusty. Many apologies.

Regardless - we are back in full swing with the first part of a three part series on the 2016 horror hit THE VVITCH and the TRUTH behind the Salem Witch Trials of 1629 and Witchcraft the world over.

Taking place during the bleakest of bleak periods in colonial American history, THE VVITCH tells the story of a family exiled to the outskirts of an early American settlement after making outrageous claims about religion and God and thoroughly pissing off everyone in their village. According to legend, a WITCH lies in the nearby wood and increasingly terrorizes the family, tearing them apart piece by piece; systematically breaking them until there is nothing left.

The film ultimately has little to no payoff (in our humble opinion) and left the three of us, at least, with an awful taste in our mouth (the taste was mashed up baby).

Join us next week as we make some special announcements, have our very first on-air fan phone call, and take an in-depth look at the faulty judicial system of the 1690's.

We're glad to be back and we thank you all so much for the unending support. Stay tuned for big things coming on The Horrorfied Podcast.

As always...

EEEEENJOY!

Special thanks to this week's musical guest SWEATHER WEATHER. Check them out on SoundCloud for some smooth, witch-free, R&B grooviness.

It's here! It's here! It's FINALLY here!
The Horrorfied Podcast is back this week with all the riffs, bits, grips, and graps your heart can handle in Part II of III of our discussion on the 2015 film, The VVItch as well as a look inside the Witch Trials of eras past and present.

This week, we kickoff our discussion with a look at the character of Black Phillip and his ties to the real world of witches. After, we take things back to the 1690's and dig our claws in deep and investigate the notorious Salem Witch Trials of 1693.

We'll wrap this series up next week with Part III where we'll do some globe hopping and discuss the very real cases of "Witch Persecution" that still goes on in many parts of the world today.

So pack up your broomsticks, channel your familiar, prepare that soul-stealing potion the Sanderson Sisters used in Hocus Pocus, and prepare yourself for this weeks wickedly absurd episode of The Horrorfied Podcast.

H'what's up, Creeps?!

This week, we take full advantage of the warm summer heat and we head to Camp!

We're kicking back for some fun in the sun. Outdoor cookouts, sleeping in tents, roasting marshmallows and making s'mores, fingerblasting the cutie from the beach volleyball game, and getting straight up murdered by an unknown assailant.

What could be better?

Join us this week as we talk about the oft forgotten summer camp slasher classic, Sleepaway Camp!

Despite being one of the more lucrative slasher films of the 1980's, Sleepaway Camp is more often than not overlooked when discussing films that have been deemed "influential" to the horror genre. Probably because it's ridiculous and kind of terrible despite its' bizarre "twist ending."

Regardless, it remains one of our favorites in the genre and firmly holds its' place as a summer horror classic.

As always, we'll discuss the plot of this bizarre slasher nightmare, and explore some of the odd choices made throughout this landmark film.
For part two, enjoy a sneak preview/sample of our Horror Fiction sister series "Tales from Blackwater" which launches next week, June 30th!

Music this week is provided by Jackson Wayne aka jaxwayne. You can find his music at www.soundcloud.com/jaxwayne. Thanks, Jackson!

So, enjoy you summer camp experience and we'll see you again next week!

ITS HERE! ITS HERE! ITS FINALLY HERE!

A few weeks back we did a fan-survey and asked YOU our listeners what we should talk about. Many of you (read: one of you) REALLY pushed for "Jason X" but we were like "NO, BARBARA!" and after a long, drawn out voting cycle finally had a winner, the 1992 slasher classic "Candyman."

"Candyman" is one of those movies that happens to be near and dear to us at Horrorfied's collective heart, as Chicagoans. It remains one of the best horror films ever made (despite some of the goofiness we talk about here) and still paints one of the most accurate pictures ever displayed on film of the true horror that the poor and marginalized people of the inner cities had to (and still have to) deal with on a daily basis (and we're not talking about spectral mirror demons).

So - join us this week as we venture into the twisted world of the Candyman on this not-as-sweet-as-you'd-expect-a-candyman-to-be episode of The Horrorfied Podcast.

We're BAAAAACCKKK!!

We know, we've only (technically) been out of your collective ears for a week BUT for us it was about a month out of the studio and it was weird getting back but dammit we did it! We did it for you! We did for your love because we are broken, invalidated people.

This week we're talking about the hit punk-rock thriller GREEN ROOM!

(Rest in Peace Anton Yelchin; you were an amazing talent and this film and countless others wouldn't have been the same without you.)

Telling the woeful story of the Ain't Rights, a punk rock band with a dream that gets utterly destroyed by a nefarious group of extreme right wing Nazi skinheads.

GREEN ROOM owned the festival circuit and carried that success over into its' limited theatrical release. People flocked to theatres to see the incomparable Sir Patrick Stewart play his most menacing role yet and GREEN ROOM quickly became the horror cinema darling of 2016 (so far).

This week, as always, we discuss the plot of this punk rock-infused horror thriller, rant about our love of punk rock and the hardcore scene, and abuse "Careless Whisper" by WHAM!

We wrap up our show this week with a discussion about the traditional skinhead scene and make the point, one and for all, that not all skinheads are neo-Nazi jabronis.

Eeeeeenjoy!

Music this week is provided by MODERN DAY RIPPERS and SEXY BABY RECORDS. MODERN DAY RIPPERS are a killer punk outfit from our hometown of Chicago, IL. You can check out their music at http://sexybabyrecords.bandcamp.com/! Thanks, Germ and Co.!

You know that thing - where you want to go to sleep and then you think to yourself, "Hey - I'm just gonna go ahead and read some fun internets. I love fun internets." Then you find yourself on a creepypasta forum and you're like "Hey - I love scary stories. I'm gonna read some scary stories."

Suddenly, you find yourself questioning your very existence and you're absolutely CERTAIN that that sound wasn't the radiator but it's actually Jeff the Killer just waiting to gut you like the worthless fish you are?

Yeah - we know that thing too. It's awful.

This week, we take to the Internet to explore all the spooky things that the World Wide Weird has to offer. In the first of a three part series, we're getting up close and personal with our favorite Creepypastas.

From the infamous Slender Man to lost TV episodes of children's classics like "Candle Cove" and "Mr. Bear's Cellar" we're taking a look at some of the most well-known Spooky Spaghetti ever written and tearing them apart; one noodly-appendaged demon at a time (with the help, as always, of some very special guests).

So get cozy under those covers, remember to smile, try to go to sleep, spread the word, and remember - he's always watching - on this creepy, crawly, carbohydrate-filled episode of The Horrorfied Podcast.

Tune in to hear Justin, Ian, and Producer Xack (AKA Fog Summoner, Moon Frost, and Producer Hell Spawn) discuss the phenomenal documentary “Until the Light Takes Us” which discusses the history of Norwegian death metal and focuses on everything from the music to the real-life horrors that several of these musicians became involved in. We're back this week with our 10th episode! WOW! We made it! Holy hell!

This week, we talk about the 2014 Box Office smash "It Follows."

While drinking and being under the influence of WAY too much Dayquil.

Presented as a surreal cautionary tale for a new generation, David Robert Mitchell's "It Follows" silently crept onto the scene and quickly became one of the go-to flicks of 2014.

We discuss the plot, the theories behind what the *IT* really is, and the surprisingly simple origin of this fiendish modern fairy tale.

Thanks again for you love and listens and for making the last few months absolutely amazing. It's all for you, Horrorfied fans!

We're back this week with another full fledged, gore-heavy episode of The Horrorfied Podcast. In what is the FIRST of a three part series on French Extremism, we're talking about the 2003 flick "High Tension."

In what will arguably be this series most "lighthearted" episode, we discuss what makes the New French Extremism genre so great while asking ALL of the questions that really matter. Why was the tension SO high? What were they thinking, speaking French the whole time like they KNOW us? What was REALLY in the Watergate tapes? And, most importantly - what happened to Metallica after "... And Justice For All?" I mean, seriously.

All that AND more on this choppy, chokey, super fun lesbian-ey episode of the Horrorfied Podcast.

ALSO - We'd like to give a WARM welcome to the newest regular member of the Horrorfied Podcast: SARAH! You heard her, you liked her, she's great!

So nestle in for some high class, French entertainment - YOU SMELL THAT ESCARGOT?!

Producer Xack is away! However, we did our damnedest to get delicious, delicious material ready for you guys to satiate your hungry palettes while he's away. This is the first (technically second) of two new episodes of Horrorfied we'll be posting over the next couple weeks.

Join us on a journey to the farthest reaches of the European forest where, under the watchful eye of Doctor Heiter, we become more than man. More than human. Thanks to the good Doctor and his mild obsession with assholes and bunk surgery we will be TRANSFORMED into... a HUMAN CENTIPEDE!!

This episode, we're chatting about the 2009 surprise cult hit "The Human Centipede" which, for some reason, did extraordinarily better than anyone could have imagined.

Telling the story of three unfortunates who come into the clutches of a maniacal, experimental Doctor, the Human Centipede grossed out audiences everywhere and made its' way to the top of gorehounds and thrill seekers must-see lists.

This episode, we discuss the plot of the "landmark" (and we use that term VERY loosely)film, talk a LOT about the human anus, and wrap things up with a discussion on how ridiculously blatant the lie of "100 percent medically accurate" turned out to be.

All that and more on this week's brown-eye focused episode of Horrorfied!

EEEEEEEENNNJOOOOYY!!!

Music this week is provided by "Correct Again" make sure to check out their full length on SoundCloud and give them some download-love.
