Rank #1: Episode 69 - Percy? We barely know He!
Welcome to another episode of Mischief Managed Podcast. We have a special guest, our lovely Tess returns and brought an suspiciously quiet Thom along. We chat about some new Harry Potter questions that occur to us in these autumn years. Then it's on to our Meet your Messrs question where we try to assign a genre of music to our respective Houses. Tess uses her wit, Laura is deeply angry and smart, Craig skips, Katie smashes ladies, and Kate fights for her rights. We continue (as you knew we would) to our topic of the episode: Percy Weasley. We chat about his family life, emotional intelligence, and Kate breaks out in emotions. Then, we FINALLY do a quizzle again now that all four Houses are present. There's a Trek-ish Cast Away, a Gossipy Slytherin, and a Marry/Boff/Kill you'll really get to chomp through.
Rank #2: Episode 50 - It was like having Friends
Rank #3: Episode 77 - Dumblewald
Welcome to another episode of Mischief Managed Podcast! We begin the episode with Holiday wishes and a big serving of humble pie to two of the Messrs. Too much confidence is a dangerous thing. Next it's on to a Meet your Messrs question that has been a bit mutated. We answer which X-Men-esque powers featured in CoG would we choose: Maledictus, Legilimency, or impenetrable shield charm (but for evil). Laura knows what she wants, Katie is a good influence, Craig is good at trivia, and Kate likes Katie best. Then we continue to our Topic, a Character spotlight on Dumbledore and Grindelwald in Crimes of Grindelwald. We chat about casting, acting, plot, blood pacts, and more nonsense. Then it's on to a festive Quizzle, a Help-ful Cast Away, a Piggy Slytherin, and a Be/Banish/Befriend that is Fantastic.
Rank #4: Episode 35 - Herb your Enthusiasm
Rank #5: Episode 76 - SPOILER REVIEW - The Gripes of Cringelwald
One million spoilers await you, ye who enter here! Welcome to our spoiler review of Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald. To break the ice, we chat about the Lion King and the sneak peak of Wizards Unite. Then it's on to our Meet your Messrs question, which new character made the biggest impression, good or bad? Craig's is an unknown menace, Katie's is in the eye of the storm, Kate is being nice, and Laura likes things, too. Now it's on to the big one: The spoiler review. We take a long time and it feels like we barely scratch the surface of our feelings towards this movie. There are many gripes to be aired and some shining hopes along the way. Guard your heart. Here there be feels. We forgo the usual segments because we talked for hours! You've been warned.
Rank #6: Episode 49 - Elf-Centered
Craig and Laura are off having the TIME OF THEIR LIVES gallivanting across the UK, but DON’T FRET- we brought in the BEST NEW CRAIG AND LAURA! Charlie and Emily are amazing and talented guest additions (seriously, check out their personal creations) and the beautiful, dreamy, special Jamie joins us once again as well! We learn how our new friends got into Harry Potter, their houses n’ hybrids, find out who is Fantastic Beasts and Cursed Child free (!), and are introduced to Jamie’s true job in life- Career in Human.
We move on to meet our fancy messers with a question from a Slytherin fan about where in the Harry Potter world would we live? Katie justly cheats with a smart answer, Charlie is logical, Jamie basically goes home, Kate is obvious, and Emily is cozy. Basically, we all win- ONTO THE TOPIC!
What’s up with those House Elves, eh? What are they doin’? Where did Spew end up? Does Hermione actually have a flaw?!? We get a bit deep and a bit sad, but round it out in the end with some much needed House Elf love. Oh, Dobby. What a tennis-ball-eyed gem.
Then Jamie stumps us all (well, maybe not Katie), we love on a giggly, hormonal, character, learn about a funny, new bookie Slytherin (who’s an actual wizard!), and finish off with a privileged-based MFK.
OH AND GUESS WHAT, SOMEONE HERE AUDITIONED FOR THE FILMS. Stick around to hear the story and some great acting skills!
Rank #7: Episode 32 - Mighty Morphing Nymphadora
We're back with a super casual Mischief Managed Podcast. Just what the Healer ordered! We chat about dogs, sorbet, and Beauty and the Beast. Next, we move on to a listener-suggested Meet Your Podcasters question that asks us "Where in the Magical world would we like to visit?". Kate chills with criminals, Craig time travels, Katie picks 5 places, and I forget Laura's answer. I bet it was good though. Our topic this episode is our dearly departed Tonks (and metamorphmagi in general) We talk transfiguration, X-Men, female empowerment, and shit about the Cursed Child. Next we have a Quizengamot by Laura, an Underrated drool-factory, a morphing Cast Away, a singing Slytherin, and a Wed/Bed/Dead with a few wild dudes.
Rank #8: Episode 3 - Muggleborns, Young Wizards, and Mennonites!
Rank #9: Episode 46 - The Quadwizard Tournament
Guys, Helium is fun. The Messrs are high on life in this intro and we have giggles with some Harry Potter quotes. Next we talk about the new extreme sport: sorting yourself multiple times on Pottermore. It’s a lot scarier than you’d think! Next it’s on to our Meet Your Messrs question where we all try to create a Triwizard Task. Craig wants a Battle Royale, Katie wants logic, Laura wants to make potions, and Kate stays on brand. We naturally progress into our Topic, which is the Triwizard Tournament. We question the logistics, fairness, child endangerment, Christmas food, and what the Goblet knew! And Kate thinks it’s “magicized”. Then it’s a Quidditch Quizzle, a Dope Cast Away, a Smoking Slytherin, and a Marry/Boff/Kill where we judge the Judges. Blehcky.
Rank #10: Episode 45 - Sort it Out
Welcome to Craig's birthday! It's a fine Friday for podcasting and we get to all of your favourite reports. For our Meet Your Messrs question, we speculate on what our polyjuice potion would look and taste like. Katie is bitter and cold, Craig's is hard to define, Kate's is fresh to death, and Laura's is basic. Then it's on to our topic of Sorting! Get ready for a wild ride of fan theories, personal theories, AND we finally get to talk about bar graphs! Next it's a mental Quiz, a catch up with Devon, a ReSorted ReCast, a Slytherinish Slytherin, an underrated creature, and a Be/Banish/Befriend that is pretty domestic.
Rank #11: Episode 24 - Remus? You barely know us!
Rank #12: Episode 51 - What's the Point?
It’s a classic MMP with all the Messrs! Laura has seen some Holiday Royalty, Kate still likes Riverdale, and we are solidly “Meh” on Justice League. We touch on the controversial casting and J.K.’s defence before moving on to our Meet your Messrs question. This episode we discuss our pet peeves in the book series. Only Laura understands the question, so points to Ravenclaw! A smooth as hell segue brings us to our topic: The House Points system. How do you get them? Can we accurately describe a cool infogram? What about chocolate? Etc? Next we move on to a woodsy Quizzle, a musical Slytherin, a festive Underrated Character, and a Marry/Boff/Kill that’s all about Head(s).
Rank #13: Episode 13 - Talk Dursley to Me
Ohhhh, it was a sweltering summer day in Toronto. Four wilting friends gathered in the non-air conditioned, non-comfort of our "studio" to talk about some Potter. We turn those frowns into upside-down frowns, and continue on our way! Let's talk about tattoos! Harry Potter tattoos! Would we want them? What would they be? AND WHERE? So many questions are finally answered by your faithful servants. For our topic, we discuss the complicated life of Petunia Dursley. Is she just a jerk? Or is she just a jerk with super fine legs? Only time, and us, will tell. Then it's a divine quiz, a reluctant recast, a haughty underrated character, a small Slytherin, and a Marry/Boff/Kill that keeps it in the family. Also we fudged up!!! FINALLY.
Rank #14: Episode 17 - There's no Flying in Baseball
We welcome back our dear Matt from The Lockhart! The weather was hot and we make sure that you know. Next it's a heavy hitting Meet Your Podcasters question that delves into what our patronus would be. There are many answers, most of them Laura's, that range from the deeply profound to the downright goofy. But of course, Craig just wants them all to fight. Our topic today is all about the magical world of sports! We talk magical sports (such as Quidditch and... uh... Quidditch?), but also how muggle sports could be improved by magic! Katie is confused by a childhood game, the importance of chasers is debated, and we come up with some evil ways to mess with the Olympics. We move on to a Quizengamot, a confunded casting, a ghostly underrated character, a lumpy Slytherin, and a Marry/Boff/Kill that you'll want to put inside your body.
Rank #15: Episode 5 - A Tale of Two Ginny's
Rank #16: Episode 60 - I've Got a Theory
Oh guys, I'm so tired. This humble dummy left it too long and I'm an exhausted idiot, so my usually delightful summary won't be up to snuff tonight. I know you will forgive me tacitly by watching the episode anyways! We chat about the mobile game release and horrible weather. The Meet your Messrs question is about where we would like to be Storm Stayed in the magical world. The topic is all about the best and worst fan theories we could find. We talk about a magical switcheroo that doesn't make much sense, Crookshanks' past, and who is a babe. Next it's on to a Quibble that I can't really remember right now (but I think it was Scottish), a super Cast Away, a Trekking Slytherin, and a classic Marry/Boff/Kill that is good, in theory. Thanks for 60 episodes, you cute pieces of joy.
Rank #17: Episode 22 - Girls Just Want to Have Potter
We're back, just like you wanted. Our long lost Kate joins us because she's finally human again! Hashtag: Blessed. Also there's a wee Jamie! Some episodes have all the luck! We reminisce about our road trip to the Harry Potter Festival in Philadelphia and we catch up on some Pottermore quizzes. Our Meet Your Podcasters question makes us pick a Harry Potter namesake (for a HUMAN baby, Laura). Next our Topic explores the differences and similarities between girls and boys reading the books. A more serious and thoughtful topic than normal, but don't worry... we get back to the nonsense soon enough! Instead of a quiz, we play a game of Russian Roulette with Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans. Then we have a reptilian Recast, a giant underrated character, a friendly Slytherin, and a Marry/Boff/Kill that will have you cursing.
Rank #18: Episode 59 - Millennial Falcon
It's a rainy Easter day and the Messrs are ready to talk about Harry Potter, eventually. We make our way towards our Meat your Mates where we answer what we would teach wizards and witches about the muggle world. Laura doesn't want to do anything, Katie wants to think it through, Kate wants to inspire, and Craig hands out condoms. Next it's on to our topic: How the Millennial generation would have affected the Wizarding World. We chat about avocados, psychopaths, and craft butterbeer. Then it's on to our super Scots Quizzle, a Rosy Slytherin, a Cursed Underrated Character, and a Marry/Boff/Kill that really kicks into gear. That's a good joke.
Rank #19: Episode 7 - All About That Snape
Hope you're not sick of awesome special guests because we have another awesome special guest! Jamie joins us on our longest episode yet! We get into House divisions and hybrids, The Babysitters Club, and Jamie's mysterious high school award. Next we move on to Meet Your Podcasters, in which we pick our own Golden Trio. Craig lays down some rules (most are broken immediately), we come up with a new version of a classic meme, and generally have a good time together. Then the fun stops as we get into our main topic: Snape. The Good? The Bad? The Understandably Greasy? Our feelings and opinions are not unlike a roller coaster at Canada's Wonderland (LOOK IT UP). Then, of course, it's back to our usual segments: A surprising quizzle, an underrepresented underrated character, a fancy af Slytherin, and a Marry/Boff/Kill that is weird as always. Enjoy, my friends... And Enjoy my friends!!
Rank #20: Episode 78 - Chamberpot of Secrets (unedited)
