audio that feels like a warm blanket

i listened to this podcast back when it was first released, and every few months, i revisit it to listen to it all again. this podcast is the definition of cozy to me, with its surreal stories and a main character i can’t help but be endeared by (i’ve read reviews calling him annoying, but i couldn’t disagree more). the music, the tone, and the feelings this podcast invoke in me is pure, childlike wonder and a comfort only comparable to being wrapped in a warm blanket on a cold winter day with someone you love. there isn’t much of a story, sure, but that doesn’t bother me with this one like it does with others, simply on the basis of how much i enjoy the characters and world of it.

Loved it.

Welcome to what has become a wintertime tradition here in Orbiting Human Circus-land! The 2nd Imaginary Symphony was originally recorded from 1999–2001 in Athens, Georgia, and New York City by a group of best friends. It was first broadcast on WNYC in 2002, so it feels special to share it now through WNYC, as well as to share it again with the Night Vale Presents family, many of whom are already familiar with it. Wishing you a wonderful holiday season from all of us here at The Orbiting Human Circus! Narrated by Brian Dewan. The Orbiting Human Circus is a co-production of WNYC Studios and Night Vale Presents.
