Earlier on the week on instagram, I mentioned how I dealt with hormone issues from overexercising and I had a handful of people ask if I could elaborate on that more. So I'm breaking down the issues I ran into when I was overexercising, undereating, and putting my body through constant stress by hating myself. It's amazing what stress can do to the body if you aren't paying attention. I'm breaking down how I fixed those issues and healed my body.

  1. Bachelor recap [14:27]
  2. Adrenal Fatigue [26:47]

Juli Bauer: Well hello. Welcome; scratching my ear. Probably making noise in this microphone. Welcome to another episode of PaleOMG Uncensored. I’m here on the couch in between life, just got a butt workout in. Shoveled my face with food. Got some emails done. Walked the dog. Almost froze to death. It’s not even that cold, but it feels like it’s 1 degree out. I am such a b*tch when it comes to cold weather. I just hate it so much now. It’s so uncomfortable. I just could not live in a rainy place, and I don’t know why I still live in a snowy place.

It’s supposed to snow tomorrow. I think we wake up to snow. Which is so incredibly sad. But at the same time; it’s 40 degrees out and I’m complaining how f*cking cold it is. My brother-in-law and mother-in-law, they’ve been in Nebraska. And it’s been insanely cold in Nebraska. And then the East Coast is getting slammed. So I don’t know why I complain, or why I’m talking about the weather. I just don’t know.

What have I been doing lately? Guess what? This is what I’ve been doing. I am coming out with new leggings! And I’m so pumped about it. My first pair of leggings launched in November. And they were shipped out in December and January. And we learned so much from that first pair of leggings. I took everyone’s feedback that I heard back from. And these new leggings are new, and improved. They’re thicker material. They hug the butt really nicely.

Something in my first pair of leggings I did white underneath, because it was the base color of the flowers. So you have to go with the base layer of what that color is and then build from there. So there was a white flower, and the leggings were blue. But the problem with that is the white shows through when you move. So it looked like some were see-through.

Juli Bauer: Hello, good morning. I’m saying hello to you from Houston, Texas. I’m sitting in my hotel room right now, on the bed, looking out at downtown Houston. I’m staying at Le Meridien. Which has been lovely. It’s so modern, and they have super cool artwork all over the place. The only thing I have to complain about is you have to pay for Wi-Fi. Why do hotels do that? I’m sure there’s a great reason behind it that I will never understand, nor care to. Because I’m paying like $35 in Wi-Fi fees. No joke. Isn’t that bananas?

Plus, I always buy internet on flights. And United Wi-Fi is pretty expensive. It’s like $15 for your flight, if not more. That’s a lot of Wi-Fi fees. But you’ve got to get that work done. You can’t not have Wi-Fi. My job is literally Wi-Fi.

Anyway. That’s such an annoying thing to complain about, right? I’m the worst. But, it’s like the 21st century. Isn’t there Wi-Fi everywhere? Shouldn’t we just have Wi-Fi as we’re walking down the street? Can’t you put Wi-Fi into my flight price? I guess not everybody uses the Wi-Fi? But, just plug it into everybody’s. Everybody would. Right? I don’t know. Maybe I’m just a b*tch.

So, being here in Houston. In Denver, it’s dry as fck all the time. Your face is just painfully dry. Your lips are dry. Everything is just awful and dry. And so you age faster. It’s quite annoying. But, here in Houston, in Texas, everywhere in Texas, it is humid as fck. And what’s funny is right now it’s not even humid. It’s been like 90-95 degrees, and not that humid based on the news I’ve been watching here. They’re like; don’t worry, the humidity is coming.

Juli Bauer: Hey guys! It’s Juli from PaleOMG Uncensored. This is the podcast. Welcome to another episode. Today I will not be talking by myself and yawning 400 times, because I’m not getting any oxygen in. Because today, I will be talking to the lovely Diane Sanfilippo. The author extraordinaire. Blogger, podcaster. She really does it all. So welcome, Diane. Thank you so much for coming on today.

Diane Sanfilippo: Thanks for having me. I’m excited to chat with you. I feel like you’ve been on our podcast a few times, but for whatever reason, Liz always gets to chat with you. And I’m like; wait, what about me? {laughs}

Juli Bauer: I know. I know. Actually I was just talking to Liz. Because; I forget, last time I was on there. But I was talking to Liz just a couple of weeks ago, and she’s like; we need to have you back on the podcast.

Diane Sanfilippo: Yeah.

Juli Bauer: So we need to make it a threesome.

Diane Sanfilippo: I know. We just; our technology has not been amazing lately. We’ll figure it out and we’ll make sure that we all get on that show. That will be fun.

Juli Bauer: Yes. Well, today I’m having you on to talk about your new book, the 21-Day Sugar Detox Daily Guide. But before we get into that, I just want, for people who maybe have never heard of you or don’t really know your backstory. Will you kind of tell people how you came into paleo, how you got it started? Because you were one of the first people I found when I started paleo about 7 years ago. And I found www.BalancedBites.com, and I remember trying a couple of your recipes. And you had really great photos compared to everyone on the internet.

Diane Sanfilippo: {laughs}

Juli Bauer: Who was taking photos with their phone. Which, you may have been doing that too, but you were doing it well.

Diane Sanfilippo: Yeah.

Juli Bauer: So it was so nice to find such an easy, beautiful blog to search back in the day. So can you just tell a little bit about your story. When you started paleo; the whole gist of it. In a shortened version, obviously.

Diane Sanfilippo: Yeah. {laughs} I’ll try and be as brief as I can. For those who heard us just chatting about my podcast, Balanced Bites podcast is the show. So if you’re like; I want to hear more about this, whatever I’m talking about, go over there. Because I’m going to try and keep it brief.

So I started learning about holistic nutrition from my own personal trainer, probably back in 2007, 2006. A really, really long time ago. That was the whole gluten free, dairy free, soy free, what is gluten back then. And eventually got into studying nutrition. Because I was super interested in it. I remember learning that we could prevent disease and just be healthier overall. It was basically like, before that all I knew was that you could not smoke,

Juli Bauer: Hey guys! It’s Juli from PaleOMG. How’s it going? I hope you’re having just a fabulous week, and things are just getting brighter and brighter. I have had a really weird couple of weeks and extremely stressful. I lost a friend this week, very unexpectedly, and I’m still trying to process that, and I’m having a hard time with it.

But I told you guys I would get this podcast done and I’m trying to get it done. So I hope I do my best on this podcast. I’m just a total mess. It’s just been a really f*cking weird week, and I’m just crying a lot and I just had a dog who rolled himself in goose sh*t, and I about f*cking lost it. And all he did was rub himself in goose sh*t! He’s done that many times. But since there are so many things going on and so many stressors, I was so mad at my poor dog. It’s just been a weird f*cking week.

But, I want to get on with this. I asked on Instagram if anybody had questions about macros, or supplements, or protein powder, and there were like 120 questions. And what’s so sh*tty about that, is I know nothing about macros. Yeah. So we’ll just get that out there in the open; I know nothing about macros. They know nothing about me, I guess. I don’t really take any supplements, and I barely drink protein powder. So you know what; I’m going to be really f*cking helpful on this subject. Sorry about that.

So if you want some real knowledge bombs and that kind of sh*t, for any amount of time, but I like to talk from experience. Going back in the past, what has worked for me. Because macros is this huge thing right now; you’re seeing a lot of people get super lean doing macros, and I have had really obsessive behaviors in the past, and I’ve been able to have my weight go up and down not counting food at all and have lost weight without counting whatsoever. So I just want to talk about that today, but if you want science facts, get the f*ck out of here. You don’t want anything to do with me.

But; let’s go back in the past. So I counted calories in the past. I remember in high school I had my little planner, and I would count however many calories, and this was not when I was eating healthy. I mean, I was eating those 100-calorie snack packs, and just starving myself. I was starving myself as much as I could. Oh my god, if I burp a lot in this podcast, it’s because I’m drinking kombucha. Are you cool with that? You feel me? You cool? Ok.

So, in this planner I had when I was a teenager, and I was like 14-15,

And their bags are puffed to perfection so even the last chip you have at the bottom of the bag is still a full chip, instead of a crumbled mess like most chips. Episode 76 Transcription!

This week’s podcast is brought to you by Siete. Siete is a healthy Mexican-American food brand that makes grain-free and paleo-friendly tortillas and tortilla chips. They’re a brand I talk about every single week on my blog, and on Instagram, because I love them so freaking much.

The Garza family is made up of; yup, you guessed it. 7 people; siete. I don’t know a whole lot of Spanish, but I know siete from four years of Spanish class in high school. So I’m obviously crushing it.

When Veronica, one of the five kids who I actually interviewed on the podcast back in episode 60. When she was diagnosed with multiple autoimmune conditions, she began cooking with new ingredients, and the family came together to support her new diet and lifestyle. The more they loved and enjoyed her creations, the more they knew they needed to share this with the world. And that’s how the Siete brand came to be.

Siete has different kinds of grain-free tortilla chips, including sea salt, lime, and nacho. And the chips are made from cassava flour, avocado oil, coconut flour, ground chia seeds, sea salt, citric acid, and lime oil. That is it. Well, lime oil for the lime ones. And the bags are puffed to perfection. So even the last chip at the bottom of the bag is actually a full chip instead of just a crumbled mess. I hate that in chips, and you never get that with Siete. I think about that every time I eat an entire bag.

Their tortillas are just as delicious. They offer almond flour, cassava and chia, and my favorite, the cassava and coconut flour tortillas. Which I use every week. I place mine on the gas stovetop to heat them through about 10 seconds per side. Then they are soft, and they are ready for loading up.

And it’s honestly not surprising how amazing their products are, because everyone on the Siete team is seriously so fantastic. I’ve been to the office. I know the whole team. I love them all. Follow them on Instagram stories and you’ll quickly see how much fun they have every day at their office. They’re just the best!

Right now, Siete would like to offer PaleOMG Uncensored listeners 10% off at Sietefoods.

This is Juli Bauer from PaleOMG and you are listening to PaleOMG Uncensored.

Juli Bauer: Hello. Welcome to another episode of PaleOMG Uncensored. Today is a very special day, because I have on not only some of my close friends now, but a very cool business that has entered into the paleo world and now the entire world. Today, I have Miguel and Veronica of Siete Foods, here to chat all about their business. Thank you guys so much for coming on!

Miguel: Thank you!

Veronica: Thanks for having us on.

Juli Bauer: Are you guys in your sound studio you have at the office?

Veronica: {laughs}

Miguel: I wish we were, but we’re actually; one of our employees wasn’t feeling well so he quarantined himself in there. So we’re actually in our gym.

Juli Bauer: Oh that’s hilarious. Quarantined himself; like, go home. Why doesn’t he just go home?

Veronica: Exactly. We didn’t have any Lysol to clean the room up.

Miguel: It’s because, you know, he’s committed to being around.

Juli Bauer: Jeeze, that’s a big commitment.

Veronica: Should we call him out on the podcast?

Miguel: {laughs}

Veronica: {laughs}

Juli Bauer: Yeah. Like, you have a sound room for pretty much the purpose of recording a podcast with me once a year.

Veronica: I know!

Juli Bauer: Ok. So for the people who don’t know about Siete, which I feel like the whole world knows about it now. Can you guys give a little background about Siete foods, how you guys started this business, what you guys have to offer, what kind of products you're producing. Pretty much the background about you guys.

Veronica: Sure. Siete has been around since 2014. We really got our start out of a necessity. I was dealing with multiple autoimmune conditions for many years. I was diagnosed with something called ITP, which basically means low platelet counts, when I was 17 years old. And it just kind of grew from there. Then I was diagnosed with lupus. Years later diagnosed with Hashimoto’s. So just dealing with all of that stuff for many years. Medications and doctors wanting to take out my spleen.

In 2009, this was around the time when CrossFit was becoming pretty well known. People were starting to follow paleo diets. My brother, my older brother Rob, had done some research. He was really concerned for my health. And he was reading a lot of people online were saying that they felt better when following a grain-free, paleo type of diet. People dealing with autoimmune conditions.

So I decided to give that a try on his suggestion. And when I started following that diet, it kind of worked out where my whole family sort of jumped on board with me. There are 7 of us in my family, so myself, my parents, and all of my siblings, we were eating grain free. And we grew up in Laredo, Texas, which is right on the border with Mexico. We’re Mexican-American.

Episode 52 Transcription!

I am so excited to tell you about this month’s sponsor, because it’s something I use in my daily life and have loved so much that I’ve talked about it on my blog and Instagram a ton. If you’ve ever had a hard time finding high quality, grass-fed, and pasture raised meat at the grocery store, ButcherBox is here to make the experience so much easier.

Not only does ButcherBox source the best quality beef, chicken, and pork that is humanely raised and free of antibiotics and hormones, but they also deliver straight to your doorstep. They take any of the guess work out of finding high quality meat at the grocery store, and instead all you have to do is open your box filled with dry ice and find different cuts of meat.

The process is super easy. All you have to do is select your box, customize it to your liking, and then set your schedule of how often you want to receive your ButcherBox. They offer free shipping to the contiguous 48 states and each classic box is filled with 8 to 11 pounds of meat.

They also launched their custom box, so customers can actually choose everything that comes in their box. Right now, PaleOMG Uncensored listeners can get $10 off their first order; plus two free grass-fed grass-finished ribeyes. I’ve loved all of the different cuts of meat I’ve tried. I’ve heard their breakfast sausage is amazing. I’ve loved their thinly sliced beef and their ground beef. I use it almost every day. And you guys can now try it, too.

All you have to do is go to www.ButcherBox.com/paleomg and pick the perfect box for you. That’s it. Www.ButcherBox.com/paleomg and you’ll get $10 off your first order plus 2 free ribeyes. And since I love ButcherBox so much, I asked the creator, Mike Salguero, to come on the podcast and share his story of creating such an amazing business. I hope you guys enjoy.

This is Juli Bauer from PaleOMG and you are listening to PaleOMG Uncensored.

Juli Bauer: Hey everyone! Thank you guys for coming on to PaleOMG Uncensored, another episode. I have no idea what number we’re on at this point. Because today I have a very special guest. His name is Mike; how do you say your last name, Mike?

Mike Salguero: Salguero.

Juli Bauer: Ok, that’s how I was going to say it. So I’m glad I wouldn’t have butchered that. But we have Mike Salguero from ButcherBox on today.

Episode 98 Transcription!

Well hey there, pumpkin. Before we get started with this weeks’ very random diary episode, I think that’s what I'm going to name it, let’s talk about this weeks’ sponsor. Because they’re not random; they’re the best. Sun Basket. Have you tried it yet? I sure hope so. Because I’ve been talking about them week after week, because they are so freaking good. And I’ve tried so many different meals.

If you haven’t heard about Sun Basket, they deliver healthy ingredients straight to your doorstep so you can make dinner in under 30 minutes. It’s so freaking cool. So they deliver organic and clean ingredients. You get 18 healthy options to choose from every single week. And they work with the best farms and suppliers to bring you fresh and organic produce and responsibly raised meats and seafood. And everything is premeasured.

How many times have you bought a whole bundle of thyme, and then you used one tablespoon, and all the others rotted in your fridge? That happens to me every single week, because I cook so often. So I’m not using thyme in every single meal. With Sun Basket, that takes the waste completely out of it. So you get your tablespoon of thyme that you need right in a package, ready to go. So much less waste. It’s just the best. I freaking love them.

They have a ton of different options. So if you are eating gluten free, paleo, lean and clean, vegan, Mediterranean, family options, and more. It suits anyone’s lifestyle. I’ve been able to eat all paleo whenever I have my meals delivered to my doorstep, and everything is so freaking good. You know what’s sad though? This week, I could not eat my Sun Basket meal because I was in Seattle over the weekend, and I was leaving for Montreal. And I knew my husband wasn’t going to follow any sort of directions, so I asked my neighbor if she wanted the box. I just asked her last night what she thought of it, and she said her and her husband absolutely loved every single meal. So I think I have them sold on Sun Basket too.

It just makes life so much easier on those crazy nights when you don’t know what to cook, or you're just not feeling inspired. They will get you inspired. And now that it’s back to school season, it’s even better to have those things. So whenever school schedule gets crazy, or the kids are back to sports and you have to get home at like 7 p.m. and the whole family is wondering what you're going to cook,

Rank #12: Getting Control Of Your Sugar Demon – Episode 14: PaleOMG Uncensored Podcast

Podcast cover
Read more
For many of us, sugar is a controlling b*tch. She takes over our mind, our body, and we feel like we've lost all control. Especially around the holidays. Those cookie plates or dessert plates are sitting out at a party and we just continue to go back and back for more. I even experienced that last night at a Christmas party. Since I try to stay away from alcohol, I find myself eating more while everyone else is drinking. And since I was trying to stay away from the cookie plate, I was stocking up on meat and cheese, just in hopes of keeping that sugar demon at bay.

In this podcast, I talked about what has worked for me, knowing what foods to completely stay away from, and how to get the sugar demon under control when she rears her ugly head. I talk about doing a Whole30, 21 Day Sugar Detox and what I do now that has worked way more than those programs. It's all about trying things out and finding what works for you!

And I'm answering a ton of questions from you amazing readers, so THANK YOU for asking such great questions! If you have any other questions sugar related, feel free to leave them in the comments.
Here's a few links from the podcast:

Why grains sucks & we shouldn't be eating them
Quick overview of sugars
Names of all the sugars out there

And THANK YOU so much for listening and leaving a nice review! It's been so fun recording these podcasts all because of you guys! Happy Holidays! I hope you have the best weekend ever! And stay tuned next week on the podcast - after a request from a listen, I'll be talking about my favorite things ranging from face treatments, to paleo products, to makeup and even more!

This is Juli Bauer from PaleOMG and you are listening to PaleOMG Uncensored.

Juli Bauer: Hello guys. We’re on. We’re doing this. We’re on to episode; what are we on like 14? I think this is episode 14. Going strong. Week 14. How’s everybody doing? Are you doing ok? I know the holidays are coming up; which means you have to hang out with your family; which means it can be stressful, unless you really love hanging out with your family. Or your in-laws. Luckily, I have f*cking awesome in-laws. But I hope you're not stressing out too much. I hope you had your holiday shopping done. I hope you're doing cool stuff for the holidays. We’re road-tripping it to Omaha; and no hate on Omaha, because the people in Omaha are awesome. But road-tripping to Omaha is the worst. There’s nothing to look at; once you get to Omaha it’s super windy because there are no mountains. So you’re just cold, and you have wind-blown face the while time you’re there.

But you know what; we’re going to go to a movie theater where you lie down, so you actually sleep the whole movie, so that’s kind of pointless. My friend told me about a distillery; I don’t really like alcohol but my husband does, so we might go to this distillery. What does distillery even mean? Just alcohol, or does that mean whiskey? I don’t know, I didn’t ask questions because I did not care. But we’re going to do that. I really have no idea what else we’re going to do. I’m going to cook some meals. My mother-in-law had knee surgery this year, that’s why we’re going out to Omaha because she can’t sit for long hours. So yeah, we’re going out there. Which honestly; I’m very excited about that we’re road-tripping out there instead of flying because I had quite the bad situation; quite the bad experience with Frontier airlines. And my new duty in life is to make sure I don’t ever fly Frontier again, and no one else ever does. Because it is the worst. It is so bad, you guys.

I’m going to tell this short story. So I talked about it on the blog, but let’s talk it out real quick. So my brother-in-law and his girlfriend came into town this past Saturday. Their flight gets delayed by hours; no big dea...

Juli Bauer: Well hey there happy people! This is Juli Bauer, the creator of www.PaleOMG.com. Just a little forewarning; this podcast has strong language; sometimes sexual content; and everything worth listening to. So if you aren’t a fan of sometimes PG-13, maybe even R rated content, I would move on. I’ve just got to give that little up front intro nowadays, since people don’t understand what explicit means. So there you go. It’s right there, put it out there for you.

So anyways, this is Juli Bauer from www.PaleOMG.com. If you don’t know what that website is; good on ya! But go to my website and hang out there. And I don’t know how you found my podcast in the first place. But that’s f*cking awesome if you did. So this is Juli Bauer. I’m here to chat with you guys about whatever the hell is going on in my brain; and there’s a lot.

This week, I’ve been in a bad f*cking mood! I cannot rid myself of this mood. And I am pretty damn good at f*cking getting rid of that type of personality flaw. Because I’m not a person who likes to just dwell on a bad mood; no thank you. But you know, I’m in a little quarrel with my husband; quarrel if you will. Long story short, I’m not going to go into the details, because I like being married, but I was supposed to go to Bali, and the trip has been postponed, and it’s slightly, partly my husband’s fault. And I love him, but I truly hate him right now. So I can’t really rid myself of that hatred; hopefully some day. I’ll move on from it.

But the Bali trip that was supposed to come next month has been postponed.

Episode 47 Transcription!

This is Juli Bauer from PaleOMG and you are listening to PaleOMG Uncensored.

Juli Bauer: Well hello, guys. Welcome back to another episode of PaleOMG Uncensored. Today I believe is the 47th episode. I think that’s it. I don’t know why I don’t ever freaking look at it. But today is the 47th. We’re going to go with that. I missed a week last week because I was in the Caribbean on vacation. Sorry, Jackson is digging through his bone, so if you can hear those loud noises. Oh thanks. Hi. Thanks.

So I was in the Caribbean last week. Full on vacation mode. Not giving a F. So there was no podcast going down. There was no recording of podcast before I even left. There was just no time. Vacation had begun, and it went, and it was awesome. So today I’m going to talk about that trip. Because it was the best freaking trip ever.

But before I get into that. I’m back in Colorado for a hot second. I go to Boise, Idaho at the end of this month for a few days. I’ve never been to Boise. I don’t really know what to expect other than it’s probably like Colorado. So it’s outdoorsy. There’s mountains. There’s people driving Subaru’s, wearing five-fingers. So I expect it to be just like Colorado. Yes, five-fingers are still a thing. I’m not sure how they haven’t all been burned. But I still see them.

Thank god the CrossFit world kind of let that go a little bit. Because it’s hard to coach someone and take them seriously when they’re wearing five-fingers. If you’re a person who wears them, yes I’m judging you. They’re just hideous shoes. I don’t’ care if you’re more in tune with the earth and your body. You look hideous, ok? You can say the same thing about anything I wear. That’s fine. But I’m going to punch you right back if you're wearing five-fingers.

So, what the hell is that tangent? So I’m back in Colorado for a hot second. Back to hanging out with my husband, because he was not able to attend the Caribbean. Think about how much he regretted that decision. He works a sh*t ton, and he can’t expect other people. He wouldn’t let someone else take that much time off, so he can’t take that much time off. If that makes sense. So yeah. 9 days was just not doable for him. Which was a major bummer. But luckily, my sister-in-law went with us. With me, and the group that I was with.

So now I’m back to hanging out with my husband. And I missed the sh*t out of him. And he’s just so rad and so cool. But this week is all about reconnecting. Because I feel like if you do not reconnect with your spouse. Especially if you travel all the time, which I do nowadays, you can easily become just your roommate with your lover. And I’d like to not be just roommates. I’d like to be in a relationship with my husband.

So this weekend, we’re going to go on a sushi date night, and go to Comedy Works. And just hang out. Reconnect. Be best friends, but not like best friends. Because I hate when people call their husband or wife their best friend. What happened to your best friend before you met that husband or wife? Did they just get forgotten about?

Anyway. We’ve been watching Game of Thrones. We had to catch up on two episodes. I’m really bummed that Khaleesi and Jon Snow are related, because I’d like them to become lovers.

My Dad Wrote a Porno

Episode 15 Transcription:
This is Juli Bauer from PaleOMG and you are listening to PaleOMG Uncensored.

Juli Bauer: Well hello there. How’s everybody doing? You know, I’ve been; I mentioned this on Snapchat if you follow me over there, but I mentioned I’ve been listening to the podcast, My Dad Wrote a Porno; and at the beginning of the podcast it says that they’ll be naughty language and sexual content, so you are forewarned. So I thought that I would do that here, because people get very upset when cuss words are involved. So if you didn’t understand my podcast by the little E that means explicit; I will tell you here and now there will be cuss words involved. If those cuss words piss you off; if it upsets you; if it really gets your blood boiling; just step back, find a new podcast that’s very boring, and move on with your day.

But here, at PaleOMG Uncensored, we like to talk dirty in all sorts of facets. There may be drugs, there may be sex, there may be cuss words; there may be all of it. Which is slightly scary, because I think my parents may listen to this once in a while. {sigh} But what are you going to do? It’s just who I am.

So let’s get going today, guys. I hope everybody’s had a great holiday that you weren’t too burnt out with family time, whatever you had to endure over the week. We went to Nebraska, and we drove the 8 hours to Nebraska to see my husband’s family, and it was just so much drinking. I did not partake in much of the drinking. I think I had a glass and a half of a mimosa; but f*ck, everybody else was just drinking hard. And then sleeping a lot. And I get so bored with that. Like, I don’t want to feel like sh*t so I don’t drink; but I want to do stuff in the day, but everybody is hung over in the day. So it’s just a lot of; I just worked a lot, honestly, over the holiday. I just got a lot of work done, tried to get ahead. So that’s all we did. And then we drove the 8 hours back.

Luckily, my husband hadn’t listened to the second season of Serial; and I’m always down for Serial. I will listen to it multiple times, so I listened to the second season of Serial with him. The Bergdahl case, and I thought; it’s super interesting, even to listen to it the second time, because then you really get all the details in there. So that actually made for a drive that wasn’t as bad.

Juli Bauer: Hello pumpkin. Welcome to the 45th episode of PaleOMG Uncensored. My name is Juli Bauer Roth, and I am the creator of www.PaleOMG.com. I feel like I should introduce myself every episode, but I always forget. So if you're starting from here, it’s your lucky day. If you started from any of the other probably 42 episodes out there, then you don’t know who the hell is speaking to you. But today, I’m here for you. www.PaleOMG.com. That’s where I came from. This is where I am now. While I was on book tour, a woman asked me to start a podcast, and I did it. So she better fcking listen. She was like, oh yeah it will be fun to listen to Juli! And then I started a podcast, and she was like, what the fck is she talking about?

But you know what, every week is different. I like to change it up on you guys. Sometimes, I like to talk about weird sexual encounters with my girlfriends, and other times I like to talk about paleo. Don’t let the PaleOMG part of my name throw you off. There’s all kinds of different information here on this podcast. But today it’s just me by my lonesome.

Last week, I was in Austin. Which is why I recorded with three of my closest girlfriends, who are all bloggers, as well. And we talked about nothing of importance, but it was wonderful. Because who doesn’t like just chatting with girlfriends. It’s not really fun listening to people chatting with girlfriends, but it was for us. It was good for us.

So I was in Austin last week. The amazing people behind Siete Foods, which is a grain free tortilla and tortilla chip company. And I’m hoping they expand to 20-hundred other items on their list. Because they have the best tortillas and the best tortilla chips out there. So addictive. And they’re totally grain free. They’re not filled with weird sh*t. Or fillers. Or if you have issues with corn, they don’t use corn. So it’s just really rad.

So anyways. They brought us out to Austin, and got us in an AirBNB. And it was a thank you for always supporting them. They’re just such an awesome family. It’s a family-run business. They f*cking rock. They live in Austin, which I’m jealous of. Except it was 4 million degrees there. And we had all these big plans of doing things, and then it was just too hot to do any of them. So all we did was eat until we were uncomfortable, and then sit and talk about business. Which is wonderful. Because none of us; Lexi, because she’s on the East Coast, she has a few more friends who are in the blogging arena. But the rest of us, we’re kind of on the outside. I don’t have a ton of friends, especially in my specific business. I know some in the fashion. I know some strict in paleo. But I don’t hang out with them regularly.

Episode 57 Transcription!

Well hey there darlin face. Welcome to another episode of PaleOMG Uncensored. Before I get started with today’s very lovely guest, I’ve got to tell you what happened on the blog this week; in case you missed any of it. Of course you didn’t. You went to www.PaleOMG.com every single day, right? No? Ok cool. Well, let’s do a little review. Because I think it was a fun time this week.

Monday morning, I shared my weekly workouts. Where I talk about not playing the victim. Because you know how all of us were like; I always have this going on, I can’t work out. I have this going on. And we just put ourselves in the victim place. Does that make sense? No? Just go read. I talk about it there.

Then I have two new recipes for you guys. I have pumpkin spice baked granola bars, and I have Mexican pumpkin soup. So I’m obviously a little obsessed with pumpkin. Because I have another pumpkin recipe coming next week. A little annoying, but it’s ok, ok? Because it’s really delicious. Pumpkin spice granola bars are delish, but the Mexican pumpkin soup you need to go make right now. And don’t use canned pumpkin. Don’t. I’m telling you, don’t do it. Use a real roasted pumpkin. I promise you, it is worth the extra effort. And it’s really no effort; you cut the pumpkin in half and you bake it. It’s literally the easiest thing ever.

And then I have a beauty and makeup products post. I’m talking about my recent skincare routine. I’m talking about my favorite products. And I have a video. Which, videos make everything more fun, right? Right.

And then I’m talking about New Years’ Eve. I know it’s super early, but wait. Just, hear me out. I’m not super excited about Thanksgiving. Because I’ve already made all the Thanksgiving food for you guys. So I’m not that excited about it. Christmas this year, we are not really celebrating because we’re going to go to Mexico for New Years’. Ok, so I’m not really even caring about Thanksgiving and Christmas. They’re not on my radar. So I’m just thinking about New Years’ at this point. And so, I’m sharing a New Years’ Eve look in the blog.

I get it. It’s too early. Believe me, I was in a miniskirt in 30-degree weather, so yeah I get it. It’s too early. But just look at the outfit. Try it on for size. And I’m sharing a discount too, for that outfit. $25 off your $100 order. Discounts galore!

And wait. Before I let you go, and before I introduce our guest, I have something extremely special coming to the blog on Tuesday. I created my own product, and I am so incredibly excited, and I’m starting to sweat thinking about it because I’m very nervous. But it’s coming to the blog on Tuesday. It’s 7:30 in the morning. It’s coming to the blog Tuesday, and I want you guys to check it out. So all you have to do is go to www.PaleOMG.com on Tuesday,
