Hunter feels like a sweet friend! This podcast has walked me through a lonely season in the aftermath of my divorce. As I stand alone cooking in my kitchen in the evenings, Hunter’s conversations bring life to my soul again by pointing me to the Father, my first love. Thank you Hunter!

So thankful for JourneyWomen podcast!

I first heard about this podcast through “Risen Motherhood;” another gospel-centered podcast. I am so glad I have been given the opportunity to hear about it and listen! I have never been disappointed since beginning to listen to this podcast! To say that it has helped me with some hard issues in my Christan life would be an understatement. The topics are so relevant and the coverage so thorough. I love the way the podcast is set-up as a conversation. It feels so genuine and honest but the content is still rich and full. I come away after listening feeling like “I love this person!” or “what an awesome lady!” I have to press pause so many times to make notes about what I’m hearing because it’s so good and needed. Thanks for the work you’re doing to help us grow in glorifying God!

Rank #3: Relating to Your Emotions with Amy Waters | Ep. 06

Podcast cover
Read more

On this episode of the Journeywomen podcast I’m interviewing Amy Waters, a Licensed Professional Counselor, Women’s Bible Study leader, disciple maker, and self-proclaimed theology junkie. Amy spent nearly 10 years on staff at Pine Cove as a Conference Director and it was there that God gave her a passion for ministering to women and families. She earned a Masters in Marriage and Family Counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2011 and is currently counseling at the Alethia Counseling Center in Tyler, TX. Amy and I are discussing how we as women can relate to our emotions. I’ve been planning this interview since the idea for the Journeywomen podcast was born many months ago. To be honest, I felt really awkward coming off of this recording, but I listened to Amy and I’s conversation while editing I realized that my own discomfort stemmed from the fact that I personally struggle to relate to my emotions. Brooks and I live in a culture where emotion isn’t admonished and I think I’m a little out of touch with my emotions these days. My chat with Amy was enlightening, helpful, and challenging. I hope it’s as helpful for you as it was for me! Rank #11: Sharing the Gospel with Sarah Pape | Ep. 02

Podcast cover
Read more

In this episode of the Journeywomen podcast, Sarah Pape, a writer and photographer from Dallas, TX, talks about sharing the Gospel in the context of real life. We discuss cultivating the discipline of evangelism, preaching the Gospel first to ourselves, praying for opportunities to share our faith, and strategies for navigating what can sometimes be viewed as an awkward conversation. Sarah said that just as much as you preach the Gospel to non-believers, we need to preach it to ourselves, first of all, and to our spouses and to friends. When the Gospel becomes part of our daily thinking and conversations, it’s natural for it to spill over into our conversations with others. I know you'll be challenged and encouraged to share about your own relationship with Jesus with friends and family as you listen.
