A graduate of Texas A&M University in animal sciences he earned his Master’s in Animal Physiology before beginning his career with Texas A&M Extension. He joined the HeartBrand team in 2009 and manages the HeartBrand buyback program (link to page) and ranch personnel. His leadership has helped grow and develop the HeartBrand herd to where they are now proud to be able to offer high-quality seedstock to other breeders.

Bob Weaber’s nationally recognized extension programming has resulted in more than 145 publications and more than $13 million from 42 awards of grants and gifts for research and extension programming. Weaber’s extension program leadership has been recognized with MU Provost’s Innovative Extension Programming by New Faculty, the MU CAFNR J.W. Burch State Extension Specialist Award, and the Beef Improvement Federation’s Continuing Service Award.

Weaber grew up on a cow-calf operation in southern Colorado and went on to earn a BS in animal science followed by a Master of Agriculture degree in the Beef Industry Leadership Program at Colorado State University. He completed his doctoral studies in the Animal Breeding and Genetics Group at Cornell University. While there, he served as the Interim Director of Performance Programs for the American Simmental Association for three and a half years. Previously, Weaber was Director of Education and Research at the American Gelbvieh Association. Bob, his wife, Tami, and their young children, Maddie, Cooper and Wyatt, reside near Wamego, KS.

Chip Kemp brings a diverse background to the American Simmental Association ranging from selling insurance to working for IBP (now Tyson). As Director of Member and Industry Relations, Kemp works within public relations to support and promote ASA membership services, assist in programs designed to educate and encourage the integration of technology, work with ASA's Progress Through Performance program, along with many other responsibilities. 

At MU, Kemp coached Livestock Judging teams alongside various teaching responsibilities, including the coordination of the Animal Science Internship Program. During his tenure at Missouri, Kemp was the recipient of the state Department of Agriculture Livestock Leadership Award, the university's CAFNR Outstanding Advisor Award, and the Outstanding Educator Award, among others. 

Kemp graduated from the MU with a Masters of Science in Animal Science in 2001. Previously, Kemp had worked in beef merchandising for IBP Inc. in Amarillo, Texas, and as an instructor and manager of Muscle Foods Laboratory, a part of MU's Division of Food Sciences. As a youth, he worked on Gerloff Farms, an Angus seedstock operation, and is still associated with that operation.

Dr. Massey founded Granada Genetics, an embryo transfer company, in the late 70’s that became one of the world largest suppliers of embryos and embryo transfer services. Dr. Massey co-founded Genmark Inc., a DNA-based company that developed the first DNA parentage test for cattle and other animals which is still the basis of today’s parentage test. Dr. Massey has also served 8 years with the International Brangus Breeders Association where he assisted in the restructure of the association and launched the Genetic Performance Solutions (GPS). Clint is a fifth generation cattleman, whose family operates in southern Missouri and west Texas. His experience within the industry includes steps along the entire supply line, providing the advantage of a wide angle vision of how beef moves from the pasture to the plate. Clint worked as an inspector on the kill floor for IBP (now Tyson) in NE, was a pen rider for Prairie Livestock, Inc in MS, and developed a Red Angus seedstock program and customer base in MO. Prior to joining Allied Genetic Resources, Clint served as Commercial Marketing Director of the Red Angus Association of America, working with commercial bull customers, seedstock suppliers, feedyard partners and industry professionals. Marty Ropp is founder and executive officer of Allied Genetic Resources. Originally from Normal Illinois, the current home office of Allied, Marty grew up in the swine seedstock business but left Illinois in 1982 to pursue his college education in Kansas. There, he received a B.S. from Kansas State University and followed with a M.S. from the University of Missouri. Marty also coached the Livestock and Meat Animal Evaluation teams of the University of Missouri during his five year teaching tenure there. He then held positions as University Extension (Regional Livestock Specialist) for the University of Missouri, and then Michigan State University before coming to the American Simmental Association in 1998. For 12 years and most recently he served as the Director of Field Services for the American Simmental Association located in Bozeman Montana. In addition to coordinating the commercial marketing, seedstock marketing and field staff services of the association, he coordinated and grew the long running ASA Young Sire Evaluation Program.   Shortly after moving home to Illinois five years ago, Marty founded the Allied Genetic Resources business. With more than 60 owners specializing in the production and marketing of SimAngus, Simmental, Angus, Red Angus, Gelbvieh Balancer, and now Shorthorn commercial bulls, Allied is one of the largest coordinated seedstock businesses in the US, marketing nearly 6000 bulls annually. Allied currently has five full time employees and is focused on customer service opportunities for the commercial customer base of its ownership. It is designed as a support business for these independent producers, enabling them to offer value added options not easily available to them as individual producers. Dean Fish, PhD, is the Santa Fe Ranch Manager. He was officially hired in May of 2013, but grew up on the Santa Fe Ranch and attended local schools. After graduation from Little Red School and Patagonia Union High, Dean attended Pima Community College and the University of Arizona. He attained his B.S. (Animal Science), M.S. and PhD (Reproductive Physiology) degrees from the U of A.   Dean spent 15 years in various positions with the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension helping livestock producers through problem-solving research and other education. He also helped to grow the local 4-H program and served on many local, state, regional and national committees to help young people succeed.   He currently works with the Santa Fe Ranch team to create opportunities for young people to be out of doors and learn about their environment and agriculture. Dean also is working to create ways to share “best management practices” with other small livestock producers in an arid environment. He continues to serve as a 4-H Leader and is involved in various leadership positions in the beef industry.  Todd McCartney, alongside his bride Marianne, strives daily to raise quality cattle & ranch horses, raise awareness for the benefits of proper cattle handling & stockmanship, raise the bar on their commitment to marriage, raise 5 above average & faith filled kids... and to do their tiny part in helping more souls raise to heaven.
