This wee's look back at the big games from last week goes a little something like this: James Madison 13 Stony Brook 10 Delaware 40 Towson 36 Western Illinois 37 Northern Iowa 17 South Dakota State 38 Illinois State 28 Weber State 35 North Dakota 30 A trip down the AGS Poll is next up as usual to see who should be where and how the voters did this week...according to these two soothsayers. Next up Lance & Kris go over some things they think we all learned this week including... Conference title and especially auto-bid races are looking to getting exciting while a few appear to be all but clinched including MVFC, Southland, & Patriot. Northern Iowa hates letting their fans feel comfortable in November. The OVC may very well be a 2 bid league. Colgate’s defense is nasty good.
Rank #2: The FCS Wedge – 2018-0919 - Week 4 PREVIEW
Here is the The FCS Wedge topic lineup for the Week 4 Preview. Samford @ Chattanooga The Bulldogs need this game more than the Mocs do, will that make a difference? Sacramento State @ Montana Montana is giving up less than 70 yards rushing per game but the Hornet’s Kevin Thompson is a very capable passer averaging around 300 yards per game so far this year. Sam Houston State @ Nicholls State Is this a must win game for either team? Richmond @ Stony Brook Seems like this could be a very good, close game in the CAA this week. Idaho @ UC-Davis This is the first Big Sky game for Idaho since 1995 when they beat Boise State University in both teams final game in the BSC before their move to FBS. Casey Kasem visited me in a dream and asked me to include that the #1 song that week was... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qq09UkPRdFY How will cancelled games affect the rest of the season and potential playoff selections? A Nicholls fan reached out on social media hoping to tailgate with some EWU folks with the promise of Cajun food. Kris invited him up....listen in to hear a good story about FCS fans and the good bonds that are easily made between fan bases. TOPIC 1: Games Maine 55 Jacksonville State 27 Weber State 48 Southeast Missouri State 23 North Dakota State 52 Montana State 10 Colgate 23 James Madison 20 South Dakota State 51 Duquesne 6 Kennesaw State 13 Wofford 10 Eastern Washington 42 Nicholls State 21 UC Davis 23 Northern Iowa 16 Topic 2: What did we learn? 1) Maine and Weber have offenses 2) The Playoff Commitee got the seeds right 3) Less rationalization can mean two conferences get 5 teams in the quarters. Is that a bad thing?

Then the boys go into some topics about what we know or don't know at this point in the season. The MVFC is once again king but is it as deep? Is he SLC also a one bid league?

We have a shortened show this week due to technical problems. The technical problem here at The FCS Wedge goes by the moniker "Kris". Listen in to what Lance & Kris have going this week for thoughts on the action from last weekend. The Round 1 review skeleton looks like this. Duquesne 31 Towson 10 Jacksonville State 34 East Tennessee State 27 Wofford 19 Elon 7 SEMO 28 Stony Brook 14 Montana State 35 Incarnate Word 14 James Madison 20 Delaware 6 Nichols 49 San Diego 30 Northern Iowa 16 Lamar 13 Topic 2: Elitism Was Lamar/SLC better than we expected or did UNI play a bit softer than most FCS fans thought they would against a 3rd place SLC team? Is Duquesne/NEC improving, have athletes, and enough experience to compete with the CAA rather than the CAA under performing this year? Topic 3: What did we learn? The SLC deserved it's selections. The CAA was overrated. ETSU belonged
Rank #20: The FCS Wedge – 2018-1105 - Wk10 REVIEW
Topic 1: And then there was one. All indicators pointed toward another NDSU - JMU rematch in the championship game. No one could have predicted that right? Watch out, I feel some branding coming on from Lance... These are the games for review this week. UNH 34 JMU 24 Samford 35 Wofford 20 Furman 16 Chattanooga 10 Northern Iowa 26 Illinois State 16 Maine 35 Towson 28 Princeton 14 Dartmouth 9 Kris and Lance move on to analyze the AGS Poll for Week 11. As usual the show's last segment is the "What did we learn" segment. Here is what we learned: The Southland is a mess. The Southern is a mess. The CAA is a mess. The Colonial at least has decent OOC wins against WKU, the Citadel, and Furman but they continue to predominately hang their hats on beating each other.
