You have to go “All In” in your mindset and your belief. It means you plan out your yearly plan action and break it down by quarter, by month and by day.

You also have to make it a priority.

The biggest mistake most distributors do is that they do not take it seriously.

The reason why people struggle with success is they can have a million great things, yet the one negative thing is what sticks in their head.

Failure sucks, but it doesn’t suck if you learn from what you did, and if you go all in and you crush it, you are 80% closer to crushing that goal next time.

Who Is James Levins?

James Levins was an auto wholesaler before he got into network marketing.  He joined in Nov. 2010 and once he understood the power of residual income, he got to work.

The goal of your contact list is not to have everyone to join; it is simply to let them know you have a business.

The reason you have fear of prospecting is because you are emotionally tied to the result.

“Don't compare. Just know that everyone has to have that unique journey”.

An Entrepreneurs life is never easy. Is a nonstop journey of new lessons learned and that's why I do what I do, is not about making money, it is driven by purpose.

And if anyone ever tells you that once you make it it's easy, then they are full of lies or BS or they never made it before because it's a never-ending journey.

I have a couple of things I want to share. These are all lessons about leadership to help you. So I'll tell you one thing the last year has definitely been the happiest I've ever had in my life. It has nothing to do with business, of course the business drives it, but it's really about the time my family, my boys it’s really been cool.

In the last couple of months, I've been coaching my son's basketball team. And also we started baseball. Now I'm manager for that teams are doing both at one time. It's definitely has tested my time management, running a MLM Nation, being a spouse, but it’s really really been fun.

I feel like I've been able to be the father that I always wanted my dad to be. I love my dad for what he did but he was just busy.

But thanks to the profession of network marketing, it gives me so much more flexibility to just say hey two o'clock I got to pick on my son we're going to go baseball when we do these practices. So I'm really grateful for what the profession has given me. And it’s been really the happiest time.

Just made me put things in perspective that business success is important but it's not everything. You may be winning the race but are you winning the right race. You may be may be good at climbing the ladder, but is the ladder against the right wall.

Success is not about the money, it's the time and the flexibility you have. If everyone knew what it meant to have the flexibility, that's caused by residual income everyone would work so so much harder.

I think about myself; even though I achieved and built a seven figure MLM business.

If I knew the benefits, how happy I am with the boys, I would have had kids earlier and even doubled or tripled down on what I did in my business.

I would build a million dollar business even faster than what I did.

Now one thing I want to emphasize is don't compare.  If you compare, that's really the kiss of death. It what is really going to kill not just your business but your life… it’s  really your life because you're not going be happy.

Don't compare. Just know that everyone has to have that unique journey.

One of the things that been really exciting to see for me, an update is the success we've had in our group, Purpose Driven Networkers.  It’s not about the money, it’s about the purpose.

Every one of you if you want to have a happy life you got to be driven by purpose. It goes back to the book I read. Purpose Driven Life. Back in 2003 that seven almost 16 - 7 years ago that really changed my life.

God's purpose for me was to have a positive impact in as many lives as possible that really got me.  It’s not just about money but making an impact and in Purpose Driven Networks we can make a big impact.

We opened it up indefinitely, we don't know for how long, but for a short time period. We guarantee you will get one signup within 30 days, but you have got to be consistent. This guy Joe Hernandez did it, he got two signups in less that 30 days.

So it works and it is really fulfilling to see making an impact where it is not just about my success but it passing it on.

Let's just change gears a little bit and share a couple of lessons for you.

Nothing's at all great. Exactly a week ago, I made one of the biggest mistakes I've made in a long time. I just had someone on our podcast that we shouldn't have had on there.

MLM Nation has been around. This is going to be our fourth year, almost going to year five now.

And at the beginning I remember we had to struggle to get people to get on shows because no one's heard of us.

But now everyone wants to be on our show, everyone wants to be on MLM Nation.

And recently we got someone that I felt like I didn't do my due diligence enough to have them on the show.

Afterwards I found out a few things they were doing that were not consistent with my values and integrity and we had to pull the show off. It never actually got to Itunes, but we did do a Facebook, but since then has been deleted and removed.

But you know what. I made a mistake and so it doesn't matter what level you are, you can still screw up.

I screwed up. I realized I really screwed up. If you ever screw up, here are a couple of Leadership Lessons for you.

  1. You have to own up to it Number one you've got to own up to it. I think the thing that bailed me out after 48 hours I owned up to my mistake. Know that you can't please everyone. Some people are not going to be happy about it. You know leaders make tough decisions.
  2. That's another thing, leaders make tough. You got to be willing to make tough decisions. Pulling that interview was not comfortable. I never pull an interview over 500 different shows, and had to pull one that was uncomfortable for me.
  3. And you know you have to be direct and honest with the feedback you got to be vulnerable and admit that. And then most important got to see the lesson learned leaders always think long term short term. You know that decision was easy right. Long term. OK. And generally the rule is the long term decision is always going to be the better d

“Do the activity and trust the process”

Building confidence and belief by “staying in the room”; hanging out with people who are in the business, motivated and are positive, eventually you start to build that belief.

Anyone that wants to do well and excel at anything, they always have a coach. We are not the expert, we need someone to both hold our hand and kick us on the butts.

The most impactful thing I learned in Purpose Driven Networkers is the whole concept of “posture of confidence”. I know that I have something amazing to share with people and I want to offer it. What they do with it is up to them.

The skills I am learning from Purpose Driven Networkers is helping me channel all the skills I have been learning from all over; “giving boundaries to a rubber so it flows”.

Tracey Chapman is a stay at home mom with three boys. She had been involved with missionary work and lived in South Africa for over 4 years. She came back and Got her degree in International Relations, met her husband and started a family.

Eventually, she got introduced to network marketing, even though she didn’t know it was network marketing. Afterward, she left her job to be home with her kids.

Success people are no very far ahead of unsuccessful people on the things they do daily, only 1% compounded over time which makes all the difference.

They don’t always feel like staying to their commitments, but they do it anyway and always show up.

One of the common mistakes distributors do about recruiting is that they see it as an event. Recruiting is a process about trying to help someone and you build a relationship.

The Secret to recruiting is simple and it is three things:

  1. More exposure; say less to more people
  2. Follow up; have the right posture for follow up
  3. You work with the willing; match people’s energy for energy

The most important skills are being consistent, and persistent and keeping a good attitude. If you are missing one of those you will have a hard time.

You always must be promoting something new that excites your team. One of the best ways is to promote an event as events are about the experience and social proof.

(1)   You can do incentives. A 5-day challenge, a 10-day challenge. Announce an incentive at the event.

(2)   Get guest speakers for trainings. Your team get tired of listening to you… it’s natural when you are too familiar with someone.

(3)   Lead by example. People get excited when they watch you grow.

“Everything rises and falls with leadership”

To be successful in network marketing, there are two things you have to be good at; goal setting and leadership.

SETTING WEEKLY GOALS

It is human nature to procrastinate. We are not self-motivated naturally, all we want to do is to rest and sleep all day.

The only time we are motivated is when we are under pressure. We like to do things last minute which is why we must create deadlines and set goals.

One of the reasons why Go DMO prospecting sessions in Purpose Driven Networkers works so well is because of the timer we have. It prevents you from overthinking and overanalyzing.

So create artificial deadlines. Whether your company pays you bi-weekly or monthly, you must have weekly goals.

Saturday is usually a good time to plan out your week and it saves you time and gives you direction when you do that.

There are four steps to follow when you set goals:

  • Set small goals that are easily reachable and winnable.
  • Set DMO targets. The DMO is the only thing that makes you money.
  • Plan out your prospects by writing their names down instead of wasting time trying to figure out who to talk to while doing your DMO.
  • Set the volume target,  not only your personal production but your team production.

LEADERSHIP

Leadership is so important to be successful in your network marketing business. But you only become a good leader after repeated practices and making so many mistakes.

To grow as a leader, there are three things you can do today:

  • Do what scares you
  • Go out and make mistakes
  • Set the example

“Because things are easier now, it’s also harder”- Simon Chan

If you want to be successful in the market, you shouldn’t be doing what everyone else is doing…. You should do something different.

Simon Chan got this concept from Set Godin book the Purple Cow. He noticed that there were a lot of videos done by network marketers but no one was vetting to find out who the actual leaders were with results.

MLM Nation Podcast was birthed for this purpose, to provide a platform for leaders in the industry where they can share their wisdom and experience to help other network marketers.

Since its inception, Simon Chan has run 548 shows on MLM Nation Podcast over the last 4 years.

It is human nature to quit, and just like anything else, the average podcasters quit after 6 episodes and there were two times when Simon Chan was tempted to quit.

Who is Frazer Brooks?

Frazer Brooks is a second generation network marketer. He was in the room, in the womb when his parents started in network marketing.

He grew up listening to Jim Rohn, Zig Ziggler, and others and as a kid, he thought it was the most boring thing.

However, he saw the success in network marketing growing up which made him join eventually.

Frazer Books is a network marketing trainer, speaker and author of the book I Dare You. His book is about mastering the 5 steps of social media recruiting.

How MLM Nation Started

Simon Chan recruited himself into Network Marketing after doing his own research over 3 months, but didn’t have a lot of success at the beginning because he was not consistent.

Then he started working with a mentor who was pushing him to be consistent, making him do things he didn’t want to do and changing his habits.

Simon has been building online since 2004 from Google Pay Per Click ads. He lived in Los Angeles but all his friends and people he knew were in New York since he was originally from there.

If you are stuck doing your daily DMO 3-5-5-5-3 you are probably thinking why this person is fit and why that person is not fit for your business.

Never prejudge a prospect online or offline. The only thing you should look out for is negativity.

The people you reach out to, they may not join your business but they may give you referrals

Deadly Prospecting Mistake #4

If you talk a lot two things will happen.

One- you will do terrible in your presentation and people will ask you how much money you are making. If you get stuck in answering that question, people will instantly know you are not doing well and they will not join you.

Two- people will think they can not do what you just did to them and they will not join.

Deadly Prospecting Mistake #5

You can approach everyone the same way, but an advanced prospecting strategy that is most effective is to approach people based on the type of prospects they are.

This is what I call the S-O-W types of prospects.

“At any moment sacrifice what you are for what you will become.”

One reason why people will buy “ now” is the product and the biggest mistake distributors make is they try to sell their products with their mouth. Instead, people will buy the product when you sell the story or the idea of making an income with it.

“You are never going to be spammy if you follow up too much; people respect people who follow up a lot.

Most import word to say for entrepreneurs is to say “No”. The problem with an entrepreneur is we have unlimited desire and limited time.

Think about the things that are stealing your time, and say “no”. It can be downlines that constantly need your help, or it can be prospects who keep asking you questions and never sign up.

People who are not signing up don’t need more information. They need more conviction.

In order to be successful, you must stop trying to “Convince” people to join. Instead, you should focus on being that leader that people want to follow.
