Sustainable Food Systems with Sandy Murray

Have you ever had to chose between buying food and buying a textbook? Surviving on a diet of mainly two-minute noodles, coffee, and plain pasta is a point of pride for many university students. But food insecurity is linked to a whole host of negative outcomes, including poor mental and physical health and – gasp! - bad grades. This week on Sustainability @ UTAS, we look at the intersection between food and sustainability with lecturer Sandy Murray. We discuss designing sustainable food systems, the impact of food insecurity on students, and creating a new sustainable food culture at UTAS. If you’re interested in getting involved with the Sustainable Food on Campus strategy, feel free to send Sandy an email at sandra.murray@utas.edu.au. The UTAS Gardening Society can be found on Facebook at facebook.com/utasgardening. Got a story you think would be great for the podcast?
