    • Bullet Points. You can make some short bullets on what people might learn at the event, in order to get them more interested. Basically, you are telling people what they are going to get out of this experience. (7:21)

Rank #3: Episode 003: How to Increase Your Customers through Your Existing Ones

Podcast cover
Read more

In this episode, Kelly Lemay discusses how to utilize your past clients’ experiences with your business to bring in new clients who can help you grow.

Key Takeaways!

  • Our best customers come from our best customers.

  • Use your existing clients to boost your business. You can ask your clients if they’re comfortable to post on their personal Facebook pages about their great experiences with your business. Most of your clients are just waiting for you to ask them to do this and are more than willing to do so. Make sure to express your gratitude to your clients who do review in order to keep a good relationship with them. (3:15)

  • On Facebook, when clients post rave things about you, they are essentially giving a good review of your company to their closest friends and family, who really trust their opinion. (6:07)

  • Facebook Reviews. Reach out to your past clients and customers, through email, and offer them a “juicy carrot” to entice them to review your business on your Facebook Page. For example, offer a gift certificate to clients who are willing to write a review on your page. Remember to give them a deadline as well with this “juicy carrot.” (6:55)

Rank #6: Episode 032: How to Make Influencers Want to Work with You, With Tom Morkes

Podcast cover
Read more

In this episode, Tom Morkes discusses how to get an influencer to support your product, which will help grow your business.

Key Takeaways!

  • Morkes defines an influencer as anyone whose opinion impacts the opinions or choices of others. By using blogs, podcasts, social media, business owners can become influencers in their own niches. This form of marketing is called influencer marketing, and it is essentially leveraging as many influences as you can to market and sell your products for you. (2:07)
  • What makes and influencer NOT want to work with you? Cold emails, or emails that are very formulaic and lack emotion, don’t make people of influence want to jump on board with you. Morkes likes to use the strategy of warming up emails, making them more inviting and personable, to gain these supporters. (3:16)
  • You should ask yourself, how much is an influencer or promotional partner worth to you? Before you get involved with someone, you need to have a number in mind about how much you’re are willing to spend on a partner. (4:20)
  • There are 3 things you need to think about to get an influencer to say YES! to helping you promote your product (4:59)
    1. Is this a good fit for their audience? The influencer you are looking for should be able to relevantly support your product.
    2. Will this allow them to virtue signal? By associating with your brand or product, it should make the influencer look better to their friends and followers.
    3. How will they profit now and in the future? The influencer should be able to see how working with you will allow them to also profit from the partnership.
  • His sequence to warm up people to working with you takes 4 steps (6:27)
    1. Follow them on their social media platforms.
    2. Sign up for their newsletter or email list.
    3. Engage with them on their social media.
    4. Reach out and ask them if you can provide help to them in any way.

Rank #8: Episode 047: How to Utilize Trade Show Booths to Grow Your Business

Podcast cover
Read more

In this episode, Kim, Kelly, and Mike talk about trade show booths and how to get the most out of them.

Key Takeaways!

  • These strategies that work for trade show booths also for websites, ads, or anything that involves interaction with you and your clients. (2:09)

  • It’s very apparent when your booth is working or not. What people say or don’t say as they walk by says a lot. (2:33)

  • Ask people questions as they walk by to engage them. You need to make sure that whatever questions you ask, you can engage with the potential client, no matter their answer. (3:19)

  • It’s smart to have a reward attached to having them fill out contact information. You could, for example, have a sweepstakes going on for the people that give you their information, guaranteeing you will get a good amount of contacts at a very low cost. (4:38)

  • Have a question and then have a follow up. Also, make sure to have a direct response copy with a specific call to action in your pitch. (5:21)

  • It’s important to train the people who will be running your booth, giving them the proper tools they need to succeed. (8:03)

  • It’s okay to have a booth without a table or to move the table to the back of the booth. This gets rid of the physical barrier and makes your booth more comfortable and approachable. (9:00)

  • You could also use pop-up banners to create curiosity, interaction, and a tactile experience. (10:04)

  • Instead of giving your staff regular chairs to sit on, you could give them cubes or stools to sit on instead. This still gives your staffers a place to rest but creates a more interactive feel to the booth.  (11:09)

  • Make sure that your booth is mystery stop shopped if you aren’t running it yourself. This way you can know what really goes on at the booth and you can make sure your staffers are doing their job. (11:47)

  • Using videos and asking for a call to action or a sale at the end of your pitch is also important to consider doing. (13:04)

Rank #9: Episode 054: How Managing Your To-Do List Can Truly Bring Independence

Podcast cover
Read more

In this episode, Kim and Mike talk to Todd Tramonte about how you can organize your to-do list so that you can start to do more of what you love doing and less of what you don’t.

Key Takeaways!

  • Todd works for a residential real estate company where they help a couple hundred families buy and sell homes in the DFW, Texas area. They operate in a unique way, like a law firm or an accounting firm would, with high levels of specialization. (1:11)

  • Master to-do list. He recommends that you get all of the stuff that you are trying to remember out of your head and write it down. This is your master to-do list. (3:19)

  • Once you discover your superpower or your unique giftedness, you need to be doing this all the time. Try to minimize everything that keeps you in the way of doing what you do best. (4:44)

  • Irritations, Tolerations, and Fascinations. Make a list of all the things in your business that you hate to do, called your irritations. Then in a different column, right down the things that you can tolerate doing, your tolerations. Finally, right down a list of all the things that fascinate you and bring value to other people when you do them, which are called your fascinations. (5:41)

  • With your irritations, you need to move them into 1 of 3 categories (9:28)
    • Automate it. Take something that you must do frequently and automate it with technology or something else.
    • Delegate it. Make someone else do the task.
    • Eliminate it. Take this task and get rid of it if possible, especially if it isn’t necessary anymore to your success.

  • With your tolerations, you need to move these into 1 of the 3 categories from above: automate it, delegate it, or eliminate it. (11:41)

  • With your fascinations, try and do more and more of these tasks! (12:49)

  • Revisit these lists quarterly so that you can make sure that your tasks are still in the right columns. (12:56)

  • Everyone has unique different irritations, tolerations, and fascinations. Don’t feel guilty about making someone else do the stuff that you despise, because that might actually be something they love doing.  (14:01)

  • Todd personally has delegated leading meetings that he had in his toleration/irritation columns to other people who used it as a way to grow as leaders and he got to spend that time doing more fascinating and productive things. (16:28)

Rank #10: Episode 030: How to Make the Most out of a Marketing Event

Podcast cover
Read more

In this episode, Kim Walsh Phillips and Mike Stodola talk about their best hacks they use when they are at a marketing event as well as some key takeaways they got from the last event they went to.

Key Takeaways!

  • When Kim goes to an event, she likes to rent out a suite so that she can bring people back to it afterwards and work on building a relationship with them, outside of the marketing and sales environment. This allows her to really get to know the people at the conference with her in a more personal way, so that she can grow both her business and her relationship with them. (1:14)

  • Another “event hack” that Kim has is that she gets a room on the club level, which you can get if you’re a premium member through most hotel chains. You can utilize the club level during events by inviting people to join you there for lunch, cocktail hour, etc. The ability to entertain your guests in a more secluded area is very nice especially at a busy conference. (5:07)

  • When you rent a suite, DON’T use room service to cater your events because it can get very pricey. Instead cater from: (6:55)
    • Wine.com. This website allows you order your wine for cheap and you can get it shipped ahead of time to your suite.
    • InstaCart. This app or online website allows you to get small finger foods for super cheap, which is all that people really want at cocktail parties.

  • Mike was reminded at the conference of the 3 basic things that an ad needs to have: (9:27)
    • An Attention-Grabbing Headline. The purpose of this is to catch the attention of the audience and make them want to read the rest of the ad. To do this, make sure your headline includes who the product/service is for and what the outcome of using this product/service will be.
    • An Offer. There should be an offer and a way to respond, so that they know what their next step is.
    • A Deadline. You need to give them a time when the offer will expire, in order to create urgency.

Rank #11: Episode 022: How to use the Tools in Facebook to Grow Your Business, with Dustin Matthews

Podcast cover
Read more

In this episode, Dustin Matthews, the CEO of Speaking Empire, discusses how he utilizes different tools in Facebook to grow his business.

Key Takeaways!

  • Matthews uses a strategy called the “Hotel Hijack” when he speaks at events. The day before he is speaking at a place, he will run ads on Facebook within a 1-mile radius of the venue. This allows him to get more people aware of the event he is having, and because the targeting is such a small radius, this costs him next to nothing to do. (1:07)

  • He also uses Facebook Live to grow his business. He pre-markets to his Facebook audiences with ads to make them aware of his upcoming videos, and then in the Facebook Live videos he does, he steers his customers to his different marketing campaigns he has going on. (3:23)

  • Matthews uses challenges and contests to get people intrigued and hooked into his Facebook Lives. For example, he would do pushups in the beginning of his videos every day for 21 days as a part of a challenge he was doing. By being consistent with it, he kept the attention of his viewers for weeks. (5:35)

  • At any point, Facebook could be taken away, so you need to secure your clients on many different platforms so that even if social media goes away, you still have your customers in your grasp. (8:04)

Rank #14: Episode 016: How to use “The Hierarchy of Persuasion” to Sell More, with Dave Dee

Podcast cover
Read more

In this episode, Dave Dee discusses how to use “The Hierarchy of Persuasion” to sell more to you prospective clients on Facebook Live.

Key Takeaways!

  • Dee uses something that he calls “The Hierarchy of Persuasion” to sell to people. On the lowest level, are features, or the components of the product. An example of this would be a free consultation. The next level up is the benefit of the feature, or what the feature going to do for your client. An example of this would be selling one-on-one, and this is where most people stop. The next level up is outcome, or what are all the benefits added up. And the highest level on the hierarchy is transformation, and this is really where selling happens. You need to focus on the emotional transformation of what your perspective customer really wants, and you can use that to your advantage when giving them your pitch. (1:36)

  • Dee utilizes Facebook Live to generate leads for free. He uses a hot-button emotional topic, that your potential prospects want to hear about, to discuss each time he goes live. You also need to be entertaining and of value to the people watching. (5:42)

  • He has had great success with Kim’s training on how to get 10,000 Facebook fans in 3 days or less. He has discovered that because of his new fan base, he has received more credibility in the eyes of potential prospects, more leads, and more money. (7:11)
