Ep 014 Striving to Make the World a Greener Place

Pam Mercer– The Truman Charities Podcast: A Community of Caring with Jamie Truman Episode 014 Pam Mercer.Pam and the Mercer family (3 teens, my husband, 2 cats, and a dog) is Greenily. Our experiences and life provide the examples and information I share about how your family can learn from us and move toward a greener lifestyle too. I am passionate (okay, maybe obsessed!) about my family doing our part to be as environmentally friendly as possible, every day, all the time! I am constantly looking for ways to make the way we live greener without totally changing our lifestyle. I definitely don’t consider us tree huggers, we don’t live off the grid or ban “stuff” in our house. We are simply an average family who strives to do the best we can for our kids and teach them to care about others – and the natural resources of our planet – but we are far from perfect!  In an earlier life, I worked in advertising then moved to corporate philanthropy, which led me to 10+ years working in conservation education at the National Zoo in Washington, DC. My role was to help educate the public about the frailty of endangered species and their habitats in faraway places like Namibia and China. It was an amazing experience! After becoming a stay-at-home mom I set my sights on bringing the conservation message closer to home...and Greenily was born!  Listen to this uplifting Truman Charities episode with Pam Mercer about her organization Greenily and how you can also live a greener lifestyle! Here is what to expect on this week’s show:The obstacles Pam has faced with trying to live a greener/eco-friendly lifestyle and how she has overcome them. The many ways people can also help out their environments. These include recycling, collecting plastic bags used for building materials, purchasing items closer to you and conserving water.Pam’s website and the recommendations/guides it offers in order to make these greener tweaks to your lifestyle.  Connect with Pam:Guest Contact Info:Website- https://greenily.co/our-story/LinkedIn- linkedin.com/in/pam-mercer-6b11b78a Learn more about your ad choices.
