Rank #1: Seahawks Draft Show: The 2019 Seattle Seahawks Draft Class

Podcast cover
Read more

The Seattle Seahawks 2019 Draft class has been finalized and the team comes away with 11 draft picks after having only four selections a week ago. John Schneider made a record number of trades and even traded up on a couple occasions including a move up into the second round to pick up a wide receiver who was initially expected to be one of the first off the board in the entire draft.Rob Staton and Brandan Schulze run through the selections from the Seahawks draft and talk about what will be one of the biggest criticisms of the draft and how the team may have a plan for addressing additional needs along the defensive line. Rob talks about how Seattle could even consider going after Jadeveon Clowney, with the rumors that the Houston Texans may have been looking to get into a deal with the Kansas City Chiefs.A report came out during the draft that Doug Baldwin may have played his last snap in the NFL and is considering retirement. Rob talks about how that could have played a role in the Seahawks grabbing two receivers with their first five picks. The slide down the draft board for D.K. Metcalf was a long one and when the Seahawks selected him at the end of round two, the emotion came out in his phone call with Schneider and Pete Carroll. Tune in to hear discussions around each one of the Seahawks selections: L.J. Collier, Marquise Blair, D.K. Metcalf, Cody Barton, Gary Jennings, Phil Haynes, Ugo Amadi, Ben Burr-Kirven, Travis Homer, Memarcus Christmas and (announced live as we were recording the podcast) John Ursua.

Rank #2: RECAP: 49ers vs Seahawks - Another week, another overtime thriller

Podcast cover
Read more

Russell Wilson has played in some wild games in his career and this is feeling like a wild season as Seahawks fans experienced a roller coaster of emotions on Monday night. Mookie Alexander joined me on the podcast this week to talk about the ups and downs as the Seahawks went 3-and-out for their only two drives of the first quarter. The Seattle offense failed to score in the first half, instead it was Jadeveon Clowney posting the biggest game of his Seahawks career and took a turnover into the end zone for his second touchdown on the season.

A fumble on an incredible effort by D.K. Metcalf to try and score a touchdown at the end of the half allowed the San Francisco 49ers to maintain their lead at halftime. Two turnovers by San Francisco helped allow the Seahawks offense to score 14 unanswered points and look like they might be able to coast to a double digit victory in the fourth quarter. But, as Mookie reminds us much like in the game against the Steelers, it was a fumble that allowed their opponent to get back in the game. After the 49ers were within three, the two teams traded field goals to send the game into overtime.

The roller coaster continued into the extra minutes of the game as Wilson led Seattle into the red zone before throwing his second interception of the season. After a missed field goal in overtime by the 49ers, the third drive by the Seahawks was the charm and Jason Myers was able to connect on the winning field goal as time expired.

Rank #3: RECAP: Seahawks vs Eagles - A rookie makes history

Podcast cover
Read more

The Seattle Seahawks, for the second time this season, return home from a trip to Philadelphia with a 17-9 victory. The most significant difference between the two games was the play of rookie wide receiver D.K. Metcalf. After being held to three catches for 35 yards in the first appearance, he bounced back to set the NFL record for most receiving yards in a rookie's first playoff game. Metcalf's 160 receiving yards was the most by a Seahawks receiver in franchise history breaking a record held by Darrell Jackson since 2005.

Kenneth Arthur joins the show to recap a game between two of the most injured teams to make the post season. Next weekend, Seattle will play the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on Sunday, on a field where the Seahawks haven't won since Mike Holmgren returned there for the first time in 1999.

Rank #4: Seahawks Draft Show: Reaction to L.J. Collier of TCU and Round 1 of the 2019 NFL Draft

Podcast cover
Read more

Just a week ago, the Seattle Seahawks only had four picks going into the 2019 NFL Draft. With the trade of Frank Clark to Kansas City and two trades down from the 21st pick overall and the 30th pick in the first round, Seattle now has a total of nine picks and their first round selection was TCU defensive end L.J. Collier. Collier is a player who had been previously discussed on the show, particularly because the Seahawks seemed to show so much interest in the pass rusher for the Horned Frogs. They had scouts at the Senior Bowl, they met with Collier at the combine, Seattle was on hand for the TCU Pro Day and the team invited him to the VMAC for a Top 30 visit. On the show, Rob Staton and Brandan Schulze go over the moves Seattle made in the first round and talk about the type of player they are getting with Collier. Rob says, "Be happy about this pick! L.J. Collier: great prospect, well worth a late first round pick, great choice by the Seahawks."He compares Collier's pressure percentage stats in 2018 to a couple picks who went ahead of him like Brian Burns and Montez Sweat, but says Collier comes without some of the main concerns that allowed those two players two drop out of the top 10.Brian Baldinger recently broke down some of Collier's tape on Twitter. "You ain't doing your homework on Collier, you're lazy. You're looking at stupid, underwear stats in Indianapolis. This guy's a football player.Where do the Seahawks go next? The guys look at some of the options at the top of the second round and look ahead to the fourth round at some of the positions they could now consider as the team holds four picks in the fourth round and two more picks in the fifth round.

Rank #5: RECAP: Seahawks vs Vikings - A dynamic duo wearing action green

Podcast cover
Read more

The Seattle Seahawks continue their Monday Night Football dominance throughout their franchise history and are now 10-2 and in first place in the NFC West. With the 37-30 win, they also continue their perfect record in December in prime time under Pete Carroll. Alistair Corp of Field Gulls joins the show to talk about the pair of Seahawks running backs who helped lead Seattle to victory and into second place in the NFC playoff picture.

Chris Carson carried 23 times and had one catch for a total of 109 yards and a touchdown, while Rashaad Penny combined for 15 carries and four catches for 107 yards and two scores. Russell Wilson delivered two passes for touchdowns on the night, one to Penny and one as a 60-yard deep ball to David Moore.

Looking ahead to next weekend's matchup between the New Orleans Saints and the San Francisco 49ers means that Seattle could get help in one of two ways. A Saints win could help Seattle in securing an NFC West title or a win by the 49ers could help either team toward earning the top seed in the NFC. If both teams keep winning, that could lead to a Week 17 game that could mean the difference between home field advantage throughout the playoffs vs a fifth seed and starting the playoffs on the road.

Rank #6: RECAP: Seahawks vs Panthers - Playoff picture gains focus after Week 15

Podcast cover
Read more

The Seattle Seahawks set a franchise record with their seventh regular season win on the road to finish the season at 7-1. Russell Wilson and the Seahawks scored on their first three possessions of the game allowed them to get out to a 20-7 first half lead. Bobby Wagner had the first of three interceptions to stop the Panthers from inching closer before the end of the half.

However, like most Seahawks game, it ultimately came down to a one-score game as the Seahawks closed out the 30-24 win. Dayna O'Gorman, of Our Turf Football, joins the podcast to talk about the win and some of the highs and lows. The Seahawks linebackers were responsible for all of the Kyle Allen interceptions on the day as K.J. Wright intercepted passes on back-to-back drives. More frustrating than the close score at the end and the jet sweeps in the first half, was that Seattle was only able to score 3 points off 3 Panthers turnovers.

Rank #7: RECAP: Seahawks vs Steelers - Seattle finally scores at Heinz Field

Podcast cover
Read more

Another week and another close win as the Seahawks turn what was looking like a comfortable fourth quarter win into a nail biter at the end. A fumbled transition between Russell Wilson and Chris Carson puts the ball on the ground and the Steelers are able to get a quick score to get within two points 28-26. That score would hold as the Seahawks control the ball for the last five and a half minutes of the game thanks to a Carson first down on a fourth and one play.

After losing a challenge to a pass interference penalty early in the game, Pete Carroll was able to successfully win an uncalled penalty on Tyler Lockett in the fourth quarter. It was a big day for Locket who had 10 catches for 79 yards. Wilson threw for 300 yards on the day and Pete Carroll was able to get a win on his birthday - the first win for the Seahawks in Pittsburgh since 1999.

Rank #8: Initial 53-man roster breakdown, Jadeveon Clowney trade finalized

Podcast cover
Read more

The Seattle Seahawks released their initial 53-man roster on Saturday with the Jadeveon Clowney trade not yet finalized. To make sure the team didn't lose anyone critically important on the roster, they decide to let Geno Smith go initially before adding him back to the roster on Sunday. Rob Staton of seahawksdraftblog.com joins the show to talk about his thoughts on the trade for Clowney and why he thinks this should make General Manager John Schneider a lock for executive of the year (an award he should have won for what the Seahawks were able to do in the 2012 NFL Draft). Rob also notes the striking amount of size on the Seahawks now have on the defensive line, and we discuss a defensive lineman they added to the practice squad who had been mocked to Seattle in the first round of the 2019 draft.  Subscribe to the Field Gulls Podcast via:Apple Podcasts | Google Podcasts | Spotify |Overcast | Pocket Casts | Stitcher | Castbox | Subscribe on Android | PlayerFM | RSS Support the show with a recurring monthly donation: GetInTheFlock.com

Rank #9: RECAP: Rams vs Seahawks - A Tribute to Mr. Paul Allen

Podcast cover
Read more

It was a rollercoaster of emotions for Seahawks fans in this game watching the Rams get out to the early lead following a Jaron Brown fumble on the first possession. Later in the quarter, Russell Wilson connects with Tyler Lockett on an incredible play to put the Seahawks in the lead despite to early scoring drives by Los Angeles. Then it was back to the lows after Seattle chooses to play conservative and settle for a long field goal on 4th and 1. A miss by Jason Myers is followed by two touchdown scoring drives by the Rams and the two teams spend time trading scores in the second half. After Chris Carson bobbles a fourth down catch in the end zone for the go ahead score, it looks like Seattle had the game in the bag after an incredible interception by Tedric Thompson. Unable to get a first down, they give the ball back to the Rams who drive down and get in position for a game winning 44-yard field goal. Adam Emmert joins Brandan Schulze to talk about the highlights from Seattle Seahawks Thursday Night Football against the Los Angeles Rams.

Rank #10: RECAP: Seahawks vs Eagles - Defense turning the page on early season narrative

Podcast cover
Read more

With the 17-9 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles, the Seattle Seahawks are now 6-0 on the road and match their franchise best road win total from 2013. They'll have a chance to beat that record with two more road games left on the schedule against the Los Angeles Rams and Carolina Panthers.

Joining the podcast to talk about the Seahawks victory is Rob Staton of Seahawks Draft Blog. Seattle seemed determined to allow the Eagles to stay in this game until Rashaad Penny broke off a 58-yard run to put the Seahawks up 17-3 in the fourth quarter. That came after one of the most exciting plays on defense led into one of the most frustrating series by the offense in this game.

We talk about how this game impacts Russell Wilson's MVP chances especially considering the narrative being promoted on ESPN ahead of the Monday Night Football game against the Rams.

Rank #11: Packers preview: Trouble ahead for Seattle if Green Bay is running on all cylinders

Podcast cover
Read more

The Green Bay Packers are the 2nd seed in the NFC in just the first year under head coach Matt Lafleur. Zach Rapport of the APC Podcast joins the show and says how running back Aaron Jones has added an extra dimension to the passing game. Jones paired with a healthy Davante Adams has been Aaron Rodgers two key targets. However, the depth on those players has been a bit of a concern for Packers fans. On the defensive side of the football, the Packers have allowed themselves to be more susceptible to the run in hopes of helping to create turnovers. It's worked well considering in 12 of their 13 wins, they've been able to generate at least one turnover on defense.

Rank #12: 3 IN, 3 OUT: How the Seahawks won the offseason in with one decision

Podcast cover
Read more

When the Seahawks win the offseason, Clinton Bonner starts the show with an 'in.' Of all the decisions the Seahawks have made, there's one move that stands above the rest that has produced a winning free agency season. And because 3 In, 3 Out is about getting into the 'nooks and crannies' of Seahawks football, this show will not be talking about Jadeveon Clowney or the Seahawks need to go after more pass rushers. With that being the primary focus of the off-season, we leave that to other shows. Instead we look toward the offensive line, moves at wide receiver, and how the defense's ability to stop the run has been impacted by the moves so far.

Rank #13: Tracking the Seahawks interest in NFL Combine prospects

Podcast cover
Read more

Each year at the NFL Scouting Combine the teams have the opportunity to get a sense of a player's athletic traits as they run drills throughout the weekend, but maybe even more importantly they get a chance to talk to the players in formal interviews as well as informally during the week. One of the most publicized moments was last season when a shirtless D.K. came into his formal interview with the Seahawks. Corbin Smith was at the combine this year and had a chance to ask some of the players if they had met with Seattle and he ended up with a list of about a dozen names. He joins the show to discuss his thoughts on those players and some of his thoughts on the draft class overall.

Rank #14: Jarran Reed stays with Seahawks, Cardinals trade for Hopkins, Monday news

Podcast cover
Read more

The start of the NFL's new league year starts on Wednesday, and Monday was the first day that teams are allowed to interact with free agents. The biggest news for the Seahawks was the announcement that defensive tackle Jarran Reed would return to Seattle on a two-year contract. John Fraley, Field Gulls contributor and co-host of the Tasteful Profanity podcast, joins the show to recap Monday's free agency news.

Several restricted free agents were also offered tenders from the Seahawks, including tight end Jacob Hollister. The biggest departure of the day was the announcement that offensive lineman and tight end George Fant is expected to sign with the New York Jets for $30 million over three years. But, perhaps the biggest story of the day, was the Arizona Cardinals ability to get DeAndre Hopkins from the Houston Texans and send running back David Johnson along with an exchange of draft picks.

Rank #18: RECAP: Russell Wilson takes the Seahawks into overtime with another MVP effort

Podcast cover
Read more

If you tuned into last week's preview of Sunday's game against the Bucs, you probably heard Anthony Nachreiner give us an idea of exactly what to expect from his Tampa team. The game played out nearly how he anticipated. Tampa Bay got out to an early lead, Seattle got back into the game, and it was a timely turnover by the Bucs offense (and somewhat of a fluke) that allowed Seattle to pull ahead. However, the Seahawks left plenty of points on the field by settling for a field goal after the turnover and watching two field goals and an extra point fail to go through the uprights. The rough day by kicker Jason Myers was ultimately overshadowed by another MVP performance by Russell Wilson and big days for both Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf.

Rank #19: RECAP: Seahawks win 21-20 to kick off the 2019 NFL season at home

The Seattle Seahawks keep pace with the rest of the NFC West this week by getting the 21-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals at home to kick off the 2019 season. Ross Bell of the First and Ten podcast joins the show to talk about some of the biggest takeaways from the Week 1 victory.

D.K. Metcalf's performance stood out among the Seahawks along with a two touchdown performance by running back Chris Carson. On defense, Jadeveon Clowney had an impact in limited action, but it was Al Woods and Quinton Jefferson who had some of the biggest plays of the game. Where the Seahawks shows their struggles were on the offensive line, perhaps taking on a better than anticipated Bengals defensive line. Tedric Thompson also had a play at the end of the first half that he would like to have back.

Rank #20: Seahawks 2020 mock draft roundup

Podcast cover
Read more

Mock draft season has begun. Although, mock draft season may be year round considering how we get mock drafts as soon as the actual draft is over. Regardless, we can start looking around at various media outlets to see react to who they have projected to the Seattle Seahawks. Among the players discussed through the first two rounds are DE Julian Okwara of Notre Dame, TE Adam Trautman of Dayton, and CB Bryce Hall of Virgina. All are projected to Seattle in SB Nation's most recent mock draft by Dan Kadar. Rob and Brandan also discuss free agency and discuss the idea of trading to improve the team's pass rush.

With the Seahawks need to add pass rushers, DE K'Lavon Chaisson of LSU and DE Terrell Lewis of Alabama are some popular picks projected to Seattle. One player who Rob suspected would go in the top 15 is currently being projected in the late first and early second round. We discuss why safety Grant Delpit could be available and what it would take for the Seahawks to make a move for him at the end of the first round.

We close out the show by talking quarterbacks in the draft. Could Tua fall to the end of the first round and help benefit the Seahawks for a team looking to trade up? How will Carson Palmer's advice to Joe Burrow impact the draft? Check out all that and more on this week's look at the NFL Draft.

Reviewing the Seahawks 2020 offseason moves after five games

Podcast cover

Tyler Alsin, contributor for Field Gulls, recently wrote an article titled, "Seahawks Offseason 2020 review: John Schneider won draft and trades but failed in free agency." We dive into some of the main points of the article and look at how the trades, free agency moves and draft picks are looking after the first five games of the season. While Jamal Adams is looking like the player who has the ability to be the most dominant, it's hard to argue against the biggest moves of the offseason being the impact that 3rd round draft pick Damien Lewis and free agent Brandon Shell have offered the offensive line. Finally, how should we grade the defensive line moves in free agency to this point? All that and more in this latest episode!

3 IN, 3 OUT: There is only winning in this Seahawks dojo

Podcast cover
Read more

Coming off of the Seattle Seahawks 27-26 win on Sunday Night Football, the guys getting (deservedly) the most attention are Russell Wilson and D.K. Metcalf on offense and Bobby Wagner on defense for coming up with the big stop when the team needed it the most. On 3 IN, 3 OUT Clinton Bonner likes to go beneath the surface and talk about some of the highlights from the game from David Moore, Shaquill Griffin and Cody Barton.

We also discuss the important questions, like whether or not Wilson is starting to only have eyes for D.K. or if it is ever appropriate to run to set up the punt. Tune into the show for all of the nooks and crannies from the game that has the Seahawks streaking to 5-0 heading into their bye week. Finally, we look ahead to a "Sunday Night Delight" for all Seattle fans to look forward to in next Sunday's prime time matchup.

RECAP: Seahawks vs Vikings - A bust and boom night for Seattle

Podcast cover
Read more

For the first time in franchise history, the Seattle Seahawks are 5-0. As much as that is to celebrate, it comes after a win where the offense was ineffective for a large portion of the night. But all the Seahawks needed in the end was one defensive stop, Russell Wilson to drive 94 yards and have DK Metcalf to catch the game winning touchdown (twice). Mookie Alexander and John Morgan join the show to recap the Seahawks 27-26 victory over the Vikings. We discuss the 4th down stop that led to Wilson's 94-yard game-winning drive that puts him in the top 20 in NFL history, and the five minutes of the third quarter that made up for all of the struggles this offense had throughout the day.

Vikings preview: The 1-3 start has fans ready to move on from Cousins

Podcast cover
Read more

Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks are on a six-game winning streak when facing the Minnesota Vikings. Tyler Forness, contributor to the Daily Norsemen and Climbing the Pocket, joins the show to preview Sunday's matchup and remind us that one of those wins was due to a Blair Walsh missed field goal.

With the Vikings defense struggling through these first four games of the year, the 1-3 start has some fans ready to move on from Kirk Cousins in an attempt to get a true franchise quarterback. We talk about how that could impact the Seahawks. Despite the frustration, Cousins has a number of weapons that could be difficult for Seattle to contain. Justin Jefferson is coming off two big games, Dalvin Cook is healthy, and Cousins has some eye-popping numbers when it comes to throwing off play action.

Jamal Adams ruled out for second straight week, Week 5 Picks

Podcast cover
Read more

In Sunday's win over the Dolphins, the Seahawks put up 30 points or more in a situation we rarely see Seattle perform well. Brandan Schulze joins Anthony Nachreiner of the Nach on Sports this week to talk about how quickly Seattle was able to score late in both halves and the ability of the defense to limit the Dolphins primarily to field goals (although they continue to lead the league in yards allowed).

Damon Harrison was added to the roster for the Seahawks this week and joins a defensive line that has already been strong against the run through the first quarter of the year. We talk about how Pete Carroll not only has a stellar record against the Vikings in Seattle, but also throughout his career since leaving Minnesota after being their defensive backs coach in the late 80s. Finally, we go through the Week 5 set of games and make our picks.

3 IN, 3 OUT: Four straight 30-point games. Are you not entertained?

Podcast cover
Read more

For just the second time in Russell Wilson's career, the Seattle Seahawks have four straight games with 30+ points. The last time it happened was a late season stretch in 2015 that amounted to 142 points (the same as they have now. How can you not be entertained and impressed by the offensive performance through the first four games of the season?

Clinton Bonner gets into the nooks and crannies of the Seahawks 31-23 win over the Miami Dolphins. Though he didn't have any sacks, Benson Mayowa made his presence felt early in the game. Chris Carson had an impressive two touchdown performance and sealed the game at the end with a lunge through traffic. Which special teams player gets the MVC this week? You'll have to tune in to hear that along with all of the great submissions from the flock.

RECAP: Seahawks vs Dolphins - Florida man heard screaming at TV

The last time the Seahawks were undefeated after four weeks was in 2013. This time, instead of a 14-point fourth quarter to tie the game up and send it into overtime, they scored two touchdowns to put the game out of reach for the Dolphins. Russell Wilson had two touchdown passes, Chris Carson had two touchdown runs, and Jason Myers hit a 55-yard field goal to put the game out of reach late for the Dolphins. Joining the show to discuss Seattle's first win in Miami this century, Dayna O'Gorman breaks down the best and worst from what we saw from the Seahawks in this game.

Dolphins preview: Long day ahead for Miami if they can't solve the matchups with Lockett and Metcalf

Podcast cover
Read more

It's Week 4, the Seattle Seahawks are 3-0., and next up on the schedule is the Miami Dolphins. Historically, it's a place that Seattle has struggled on the road. The last time the team won in Miami, John Friesz was throwing the ball to Brian Blades and Joey Galloway. To preview Sunday's matchup, Brian "Cat" Catanzaro of the On The FinSide podcast comes on to talk about the strengths and weaknesses of the Dolphins he sees through the first three weeks of the season. Follow Brian at @BrianCATNFL on Twitter. Of particular concern for the Dolphins will be the matchups in the secondary with D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett as Russell Wilson looks to continue throwing touchdowns at a historic rate.

Nearly half of the Seahawks team is on the injury list, Week 4 picks

Podcast cover
Read more

Nearly half the team showed up on the Seahawks injury report this week. Eight players have sat out one or both days of the first two days of the week heading into Sunday’s matchup with the Dolphins.   On this week’s appearance on the Nach on Sports, we discuss the issues with the Seahawks defense through the first three weeks. But they have made big plays in critical moments and they are getting contributions from some of their young players.

Looking ahead to Sunday’s matchup, the Seahawks have a chance to extend the team’s winning streak when playing on the east coast in the early time slot. While Ryan Fitzpatrick has the weapons to keep Miami in the game, the Dolphins defense will have to play much better than in previous weeks to be able to stop Russell Wilson.

3 IN, 3 OUT: The ghost of Tom Cable is now 3-for-3

Podcast cover

Part of the fun of digging into the nooks and crannies of the Seahawks games is asking the tough questions that nobody else will bring up. Why does the ghost of Tom Cable only come to haunt the Seahawks coming out of the two-minute warning? Why can't Tre Flowers be more like Winnie the Pooh? And who is Cedrick Wilson? Did anyone other than his close family and friends know that he played for the Cowboys before this game against the Seahawks?

The MVC this week goes to a future Hall of Famer and the big bonus Brand-IN goes to a bright spot in the Seahawks secondary as Ugo Amadi stood out in several different areas. RECAP: Seahawks vs Cowboys - Forgiveness in Metcalf's future (someday)

Podcast cover
Read more

Russell Wilson is on fire through the first three weeks of the season. With 14 touchdown passes in his first three games of the season, he took down the record set recently by Patrick Mahomes. Considering it was the playoff loss to the Dallas Cowboys that started the "Let Russ Cook" movement with a tweet from Zach Whitman, it comes full circle as Zach was featured on ESPN's pregame show with Mina Kimes talking about the slogan that fans have rallied around.

We also talk about some of the less than spectacular moments as the Seahawks secondary allowed Dak Prescott and the Cowboys to get back into the game. DK Metcalf also allowed this game to be a lot closer by not securing the football on what would have been another deep touchdown pass by Wilson. The injuries mounted up in this game as well, but that allowed a guy like Ryan Neal to be one to ultimately seal the victory for Seattle.

Cowboys preview: All signs point to a shootout with the Seahawks

Podcast cover
Read more

The Seattle Seahawks (2-0) face the Dallas Cowboys (1-1) on Sunday at 1:25 PT at CenturyLink Field. The Seahawks haven't lost in the regular season to the Cowboys since 2014, and a win on Sunday would give the Seahawks their second 3-0 start under coach Pete Carroll. Paul Catalina of the Bleav in Cowboys podcast joins the show to offer his thoughts on Dallas coming off their historic comeback victory over the Atlanta Falcons.

With the limited offseason, he says not much has changed offensively with new head coach Mike McCarthy. On both sides of the ball, the team has some impactful injuries, but an already depleted secondary could be a big issue against Russell Wilson. The Seahawks quarterback is leading the league in completion percentage (82.5), touchdowns (9) and passer rating (140). But the Cowboys offense could also challenge the Seattle defense in what could be a high scoring game on Sunday. We discuss which team has the advantage in a few different scenarios.

Russell Wilson wants the MVP, the Seahawks long injury list, Week 3 picks

Podcast cover
Read more

The Seahawks didn't escape the injury bug that hit the league in Week 2. Bruce Irvin and Marquise Blair were sent to injured reserve, so you won't hear their names, but Duane Brown, Rasheem Green and Benson Mayowa sat out practice on both Wednesday and Thursday. There was a long list of players who had relatively minor injuries or were rested from practice this week as well.

In my chat with Anthony Nachreiner of the Nach on Sports this week we talked about Russell Wilson's comments about wanting to win an MVP award and if there might be too much focus on that particular achievement. Despite two straight weeks of the Seahawks defense giving up big yardage, there's a bigger area of concern with the matchup against the Cowboys. Finally, we go through the Week 3 set of games and share our picks.
