I started PG Sports in 2011 as a sophomore  at Sacred Heart Unversity. PG Sports at first was just a twitter page, I  tweeted about sports instead of my personal page. Then it quickly  evolved into a clothing & media brand and I've gotten over 200  professional athletes in all of the major leagues to wear PG Sports  gear.  I've got big name players such as Didi Gregarious, Brandon  Phillips, Brook Lopez, Trent Williams, Vontaze Burfict, Chris Kreider,  DeAngelo Williams, Chad Dawson, ect. Check out my story if you get a  chance https://pg-sports.com/pro-athletes-rockin-sports-apparel-line-of-connecticut-college-senior/
I also started a segment of my blog  #WeBlogWednesdays every Wednesday we will have a unique sports related  article, story, or interview. It's real content from real athletes. Open  letters, articles, videos, all exclusive to PG Sports. A story about  you and your journey would be dope. Whether it's Royce White's open  letter to the NBA or Gary Sheffield Jr on what it was like to grow up  with his dad being a star baseball player or a Q & A interview with  Ms. Wagner from Netflix hit show Last Chance U or Army Vet and Clemson  walk out Daniel Rodriguez talking about his national signing day. Even a  story how I was a substitute teacher and made a student athlete a  soccer highlight tape and he got multiple D1 offers off the video!

My name is Jasmine, but I go by Jazz! I played basketball at Northern Virginia Community College, where I set 11 school records on the basketball court and was on the President's List and Dean's List academically. I researched schools/teams to attend after NOVA, and I decided upon the University of Mary Washington (I decided to attend here because I had compared my statistics to all the players returning some of which only scored 2 points the entire season prior, the school was close to my parent's house, and because I knew I could do well at a Division 3 school). However, from the first day of preseason the girls on the team stated that "They didn't come from highschools in the ghetto, and therefor were not used to having more than 1 or 2 black girls on the team and that was the way they liked it". The girls continued to make negative racial comments and tried to make me pay for alcohol, despite me being underage. I refused to take part in either. This resulted in the coach calling me in two weeks before tryouts (after enduring a grueling 2 months of racial "jokes") and told me that due to the girls on the team saying I did not have the right chemistry (although they said I was a good person) to be on the team, she would not be letting me tryout. I told her maybe my lack in "chemistry" was due to my refusal to take part in racial jokes and underage drinking. She told me that even if the girls were "right, wrong , good, bad, or otherwise", I would not be allowed to try out. She also said that she did not believe anything I said about things the girls said because she had a "variety of players over the years" ( I ended up uncovering that she had only allowed 2 black players in 14 years, which she said was a variety). Although my family tried our best to meet with school officials and find some sort of resolution so I could try out, our calls for help fell on deaf ears. However, I did not give up on my dream of playing basketball. The next year I walked on to Bowie State (a high level Division 2), made the team, got in the starting line-up, got a 4.0, AND received a scholarship! We also won our lawsuit against the school and made part of the settlement agreement about recruiting more minorities which resulted in 7 black players in 3 years, when it previously took the school 14 years to have two. I am now hoping to grow a platform so I can speak to youth and athletes so they know that they too can overcome any obstacles that come their way.

Guest: A.D. Dolphin

Social Media: Instagram @addolphin Facebook @addolphin Twitter @addolphin1

A.D. Dolphin, grandson of 1940’s and 50’s music mogul John Dolphin, launched his company, Dherbs Inc., in 2004. Dherbs catalyzed an evolution in the use of herbs as a clear pathway to excellent health, healing, and an improved way of life. A.D. explains, “I always knew I would be an entrepreneur. Everyone in my family owned their own businesses and I wanted to follow in their footsteps.”

He pursued a career as a professional basketball player and found success overseas in Australia. Upon returning home from Australia A.D. began coaching and professionally training. His reputation grew rapidly and amassed 300 private basketball students in under 2 months. “I saw how clients learned and what worked for them,” Dolphin says. “I trained each client not only according to their desires, but also to their needs.” Dolphin became a trusted ally, friend, and mentee of his high profile clients.

Sideline conversations propelled A.D into real estate & music, but he found the most success with his herbal supplement business, Dherbs. A.D. road tested what is still the company’s #1 product to date, the Full Body Cleanse. Within 7 days of the 20-day cleanse, Dolphin felt that his energy increased, his sleep was better, his thoughts were clearer, and he kicked his soda addiction. Dolphin decided to launch Dherbs as an online company. ‘I didn’t even have an email”, he laughs.

Since 2004 when A.D. and his 2 partners opened the virtual doors of Dherbs.com, they have not looked back. After over a decade of growth and success, A.D. is in the herb business to stay. “There is nothing like the feeling you get when you start helping people.”

Dolphin’s philosophy is simple and clear, “The body can heal itself if it has the right fuel.” Dherbs has over 400 herbal products that can help remedy a variety of health ailments. A.D. does not rest on the laurels of financial success. He has a thirst for knowledge and information to share with clients that distinguishes him as a leader in the field of health and wellness.

Thanks to heart and hustle, Joe would excel in athletics, even earning his place on collegiate wrestling and semi-professional football teams. This heart and hustle, though, was not confined to the playing field. It couldn’t be.

Guests: Taylor Ferguson and Alex Gnaedig
Social Media: Instagram @Tayferggs LinkedIn @Alex Gnaedig

Hi, I’m Alex Gnaedig. I’m an RN, BSN from Dallas, Texas. I married my best friend Amanda in 2016 and in January of this year we welcomed our beautiful baby Amelia into the world.
I have been a nurse since 2010 and have worked in all areas of healthcare from hospice, home health, LTAC and more recently the emergency room. I have worked exclusively in the emergency room since 2013 and have had the privilege of meeting some of the most amazing nurses, doctors and allied staff from all over the country.
When I’m not working I love to travel and build things - wood tables, fire pits, and tiny trailer homes to name a few. I love what I do and do what what I love. I’m a driven individual, and always try to remain hopeful and positive. A little sense of humor doesn’t hurt either!
