Discomfort & Chill?

Listen. I know all about being stuck. And I have a feeling you know a little something about that too. Can’t make up your mind? Can’t get shit done? Can’t resist clicking the “Still watching?” pop-up on Netflix after 10 episodes in a row? We’ve all been there (last night, to be exact). Discomfort & Chill? is a podcast by me, Katrin Berndt, that will loosen your grip on the TV remote and get your butt off that couch. I don't care if you have an essay to finish, a workout to complete, or friends to make. I got you. Spoiler alert! It will feel gross. But please don’t make me feel gross all on my own. I need you to join me, one episode at a time. Seriously. Hit 'subscribe' if I can count on you!

17. Happiness in Relationships: Who's Responsibility?

Get ready for some tough love, my friend. This week I get a little fired up when talking about relationships and who's responsibility it is to make us happy. We spend so much of our time trying to control the world around us in order to feel the way we want to feel when in reality the only thing that can make us feel anything is our own brain.I am going to share some examples from my own relationship, where these issues have shown up in the past and how everything has changed for me since I let go of the idea that my boyfriend needs to make me feel happy and loved. That is simply not his responsibility.I also talk about my 8-week coaching program called The Girlfriend Glow-Up which is now open for enrollment! There are only 8 spots left for the October round, so if you're ready to completely change your way of thinking and feeling, click the link below and apply today!Read more about The Girlfriend Glow-Up and apply here:https://www.katrinberndt.com/17Contact Katrinkatrin@katrinberndt.comhttps://instagram.com/katrinberndt

14. You Don't Have to Think It Just Because It's True

This is one of my absolute favorite topics to think about and talk about right now. The fact that circumstances are neutral as they exist in the world. but as soon as they enter your mind they will no longer be neutral, even if you think they are. Something can be factual and circumstantial but as soon as you think about it, it will generate an emotion in your body. SO fascinating!I have spent a lot of time recently thinking a semi-factual thought that I've just thought "is true". Well, turns out it's not harmless to think about just because it can be considered a fact. And even if it, in my case, isn't necessarily harmful, doesn't mean it's useful or productive either! It actually held me back without me even knowing it.I'm very excited for you to listen to this episode!Join the 5-Day Challenge to increase love and connection in your relationship:https://www.katrinberndt.com/14Contact Katrinkatrin@katrinberndt.comhttps://instagram.com/katrinberndt

13. The Power of Choice in Any Situation

Trigger warning! In this episode, I will mention sexual harassment and abuse. Nothing graphic or detailed, but I just wanted to let you know ahead of time.Today we are going to talk about free will, choice, options, and how to apply our ability to choose in any situation. We will talk about why it's so disempowering to think that you don't have options when you do, and the fact that there are extremely few things adult human beings have to do in life. Naturally, there will be consequences of our actions regardless of what we choose... but that does not take away our right! This information can then be applied to your relationships. Are you exercising your right to choose how to think, feel, and act? And are you allowing your partner to exercise their right to do the same? Perhaps this is a topic you want to explore further. In that case, I have created a 5-Day Challenge for anyone who wants to become more aware of what free will looks like with their partner!Join the 5-Day Challenge to increase love and connection in your relationship:https://www.katrinberndt.com/13Contact Katrinkatrin@katrinberndt.comhttps://instagram.com/katrinberndt

12. Heart vs. Brain: Which One Holds the Truth?

When we say that our heart wants one thing but our brain wants another, or we intellectually believe something to be true but it doesn't feel true in our hearts... what is it we are really saying? Does our heart really have the ability to think for itself? Is the heart even involved in creating any kind of emotion in our bodies? In this week's episode, I go to the bottom of this eternal war between the heart and the brain. I will give you some questions to journal about and take into consideration for you to sort it out as well. What do you really feel when your heart wants something, and how does it differ from the feeling you get when your brain wants something? What is mutually exclusive between the two?Submit a request for 1:1 coaching here:https://www.katrinberndt.com/coachingContact Katrinkatrin@katrinberndt.comhttps://instagram.com/katrinberndt

9. How to Feel Any Emotion

When you feel something, are you aware if you are resisting, reacting to, avoiding, or allowing that emotion? Do you know where the emotion comes from and how to generate a different one? This is what I will teach you in this week's episode!Emotions are patient. They wait for us and they don't just go away because we ignore them for long enough. The most productive way to process emotion is to feel it. Allow it to be there. Don't immediately reject it or try to feel better.Towards the end of this episode, I will guide you through one way of processing emotion. We will focus on it and feel it. Narrate what's going on in your body.
