The crew dives into, how being judged in the public court of opinion can have you perceived as guilty in the court of law. Also, is the media actually creating division in society? Swimmers Take Your Mark | Episode 34
We start this episode off with a visit from Bobby, everyone’s favorite bear hunter. Bobby is stunned that his hunt in New York may have come to an abrupt end as his favorite bear is no longer a bear. Mack tells us about the reactions he's getting from various people while on his weight loss journey. He even gets called Tyler Perry. We later find out why. Alaric is dealing with the terrible twos and is literally pulling out hair he doesn't even have anymore. Vin suggests developing a new behavioral tool—The Baby TAZER. A modestly powered zapper to get the baby’s attention and put an end to their nonsense. Vin also discusses what is going on at the job and educates the crew on some bizarre, yet interesting hiring standards of our public transportation authority. L.O. tells us about his visit to the passport office and the menacing kid with a feces-filled diaper who caused havoc for everyone. Next, Mack shares his experience at the doctor’s office for a seminogram to make sure his boys are still swimming strong. You’ll hear all this and more in this Friday’s edition of Decoding 40. Shorty Swing My Way | Episode 33
The crew checks in with what's good in their section of the world. Vin is celebrating his 46th, Alaric is on his way to Indonesia and Mack's weight loss journey is showing the fruits of his labor. Mack shares a truth of how weight loss makes you look at the world differently and how people look and treat you differently. Weight loss is more than dieting it is definitely a mental and lifestyle change. This Week in Racism introduces us to a police officer manhandling a special needs child in a school. Of course we know the young child was black and the cop was white. Where is the compassion and training to help him deal with this situation? We switch gears and discuss the thin line between brilliance and crazy. Is Kanye a genius or is he really suffering from a mental illness? This week's libation is Rowan’s Creek. It's a very good bourbon whiskey that goes down smooth. And, for Douchebag of the Week Award, it's a two-way tie going to Donald Trump for getting booed at the baseball game and Mitch McConnell getting snubbed at Elijah Cummings funeral. We end the show on one of our favorite topics: SEX and have you ever had bad sex and what makes it bad. We can all agree laying there, like a dead fish is never a good look. No matter what your excuse might be that won't stop Mack from putting your ass in a swing. You’ll hear all this and more in this Friday’s edition of Decoding 40. Nobody Is A G*ddamn Eddie Murphy | Episode 35
Alaric starts us off with his brush with international criminality and tells us how he lands in detention in a 5-star hotel. Apparently, when you travel to Indonesia you better have your papers together or you better have your paper together. This Week's Libation is brought to us by Eagle Rare a full-body Kentucky bourbon whiskey with a robust taste and a hint of history that embodies that ole Kentuckyian heritage. In This Week in Racism, we discuss the Byron Allen vs Comcast case that has made its way to the Supreme Court and the impossible standard of an old law. We also discuss Monique vs Netflix. Monique has brought a discrimination case against Netflix for unfair wages. Does Monique deserve more than the $500k she was originally offered? Are offers based on legacy or the power to draw an audience? Or both? You’ll hear all this and more in this Friday’s edition of Decoding 40. Be sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Patreon. Programming note: We will be taking off next week to enjoy Thanksgiving with our families and friends. Our Magnum Opus [feat. Magnum P.I.'s Stephen Hill] | Episode 40
Welcome back to our eponymous 40th episode. We had to go big for this episode. And, we mean CBS big! We welcomed actor Stephen Hill to the studio to discuss his brilliant career and some of his coolest moments in television and film. Hill’s television credits include “Law & Order: SVU,” “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” “Political Animals,”, ”BLUE BLOODS, “Boardwalk Empire”, “Lewis & Clark” and “Luke Cage.” His most recent work includes Steve McQueen’s feature film “Widows,” the play “Manhood” at the National Black Theater, and the Netflix series “Maniac.” Hill’s "Magnum P.I." character, a military veteran who flies helicopters, shares a distinguished trait with his father, who was a Vietnam veteran chopper mechanic. In This Week in Racism, we consider Stephen’s inability to get the coveted blue check of Instagram on his account as a possible signal of racist intent. Stephen also talks about the Tales from Shaolin: Shakey Dog project and the reaction from Ghostface Killa. The film features an original score by indie Hip Hop producers Jake Summers, Eno Noziroh, and Wino Willy, Shakey Dog also stars Ninja N. Devoe, Angel Sanchez, Nasser Metcalfe, and Clinton Lowe - with special appearance by elusive Hip Hop super-producer Megahertz. Produced by Jeremy Sample, Stephen Hill, Marquette Jones, and Janie McFadden along with screenwriter J. Michael Neal and director Louis A. Moore. This Week's Libation is Four Roses Whiskey and we give our review, but our reviews get upstaged by Stephen’s Pappy Van Winkle story. NOTE: If you haven't watched Boardwalk Empire, there's a Spoiler Alert at 33:34-36:55. You’ll hear all this and more in this special edition of Decoding 40. Machine Gun Funk - Miami Edition | Episode 9
In this special Miami Edition, we record from beautiful Miami, Florida. We’re here for Mack’s Bachelor’s Party and we’re having a ball! Don’t miss as we discuss the amazing and not so amazing food (pizza) we experienced. Jussie Smollett walks! and we don’t care… We talk shooting machine guns and a 50 caliber rifle at Lock and Loaded Miami and why the headphones that they have should be mass marketed to married guys. Of course, we follow that up with IF should we own guns at all… Then we hit Coyo Taco and we meet the drunk triple fisting Chocolate Rain guy with Falling Down glasses as he tries to start up a random conversation. Somehow we touch on the Mennonites, selling encyclopedias and Kirby vacuum cleaners back in the day. The difference between a Pyramid scheme and a Sou-Sou and should Jordan Peele put white folks in his movies. Lastly, we discuss dealing with the police over 40 versus dealing with police when we were younger. Come laugh and hang out with the Decoding 40 crew.

Stick to the Script | Episode 24
We start off answering the question if it is possible in today’s world to humanize customer service. The crew discusses their experiences and frustration with foreign call centers and the scripted conversations they use to supposedly empathize with customers. We all agree that better training and the empowerment of workers could lead to a happier customer base. Next, we discuss how tired and bored we are with the current search for a Democratic presidential nominee. The coverage of the Democratic field is looking more like a WWE wrestling match rather than a search for a viable candidate to lead the free world. In a country so divided by racial and economic disparities is their one person to bring the left and right back to the middle. From politics to whiskey--because that is what we do. This week’s libations was brought to you by Larceny Whiskey and we ask whether or not: Buy or Not Buy? We can all agree that it's a nice sip but not really one we would buy with the exception of L.O. We wrap up the episode to discuss investments from bitcoin to Canadian weed to Iraqi dinars we all have a good investment story. You’ll hear all this and more in this Friday’s edition of Decoding 40. And, follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram and on Patreon. P.S. Come hang with us on September 5th as we support Alaric and the latest installment of Arterotica on Sept 5 at Madame X in New York City. Visit www.arteroticaevents.com for more information.

Pacquiao Out! | Episode 38
Mack decided to introduce the crew to healthy snacks that can be best described as flavored wood. Alaric is getting ready to head to Miami and breaks down Art Basel, a wonderful art fair that transforms Miami into one big work of art. Vin shares his upcoming Christmas versus bills woes and we come up with some ideas that might even help you. We all take a moment to acknowledge a few loved ones we lost. Mack and the crew share their angst and curiosity about researching their ancestral roots. We all hope to find greatness in our past generations, but shutter to think of the possibility of having murderous ancestors. And, we touch on the effects of transgenerational trauma and how we hope to heal from that for our children’s sake. Next, we discuss a couple of news items including the story on Jorge Porto Sierra, the man arrested for reportedly trying to “barbecue” pedophiles. And, we talk about Manny Pacquiao building 10,000 homes in the Philippines and how that effort has been undermined by his anti-gay comments. Our final news topic is the muppet looking, Michelle Passley, who was arrested for driving a school bus full of kids while under the influence of alcohol. Racists Aint Sh*t But Hoes and Tricks | Episode 10
On this week's episode we meet Jaysin with an I. A typical sweater hat wearing gentrifier with a beard from the Mid-West. From police officers to voting, we explore the different facets of society and how America as a whole cares or doesn't care. We then talk about internet models. Is it all about thirst trapping and fishing for likes? In this week in racism we talk about the drunken white man who calls black patrons “The N-Word” and “monkeys” inside a restaurant. He is then very bad things happen. Mack shares his experiences working for the Post Office, working the system and getting smacked by a supervisor. Finally, we all agree, the worse thing about getting old is not being able to bounce back from partying like we did in our 20's and not being able to eat what we want. No more bread, cakes, ice cream and apparently ketchup. Hope you guys enjoy this episode and don't forget to listen to a new episode every Friday.. PEACE!

The Legend of Kuato | Episode 25
We jump right into this episode with a flashback and cautionary tale from Alaric that really proves if it is too good to be true then it probably is. He meets a beautiful woman at a bar and then the encounter goes left. This leads us to ask a couple of questions, “How shallow are we?” and ”Would you date a woman differently-abled or possessing non-traditional beauty?” It’s another trip for Mack aka Mr. International and this time it’s Greece. Mack gives us the good, the bad and the hilarious parts of his trip and how a very old man and ex-wrestler worked together to conspire against unsuspecting travelers. You have to hear this one! This week's libation is Grass Widow courtesy of our first Whiskey Warrior Nelson Hume. A very good whiskey, perfect for after or maybe during work. We then switch gears and discuss the fallout from the RocNation and NFL partnership and whether or not if the NFL achieved its goal of changing the narrative. Despite an avalanche of public opinion, we cut through some of the noise to find out if there’s any there...there. We also discuss the recent firing of officer Daniel Pantaleo, who was directly involved with the choking death of Eric Garner. What took so long to fire him and was it enough? You’ll hear all this and more in this Friday’s edition of Decoding 40. And, follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. And, this week on Patreon, be sure to check out the alternate ending only available to our Patreon subscribers.

Voltron Will Have to Wait | Episode 31
Alaric is late to the studio so Vin, Mack and L.O. pass the time and meander through a host of topics until he arrives. The guys discuss the latest news on the orange clown currently serving as president of the United States and how quickly he will shade his closest allies. Will he go to prison? Will Rudy Guiliani go to prison? Also, what’s the new look for 50? And, are we less responsible than our parents? Or, just more impoverished? This week’s libation is brought to us by Slane Whiskey. You’ll hear all this and more in this Friday’s edition of Decoding 40. Be sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Patreon. Want to be our Whiskey Warrior of the Week? Raisin Bread and THOTS | Episode 21
It’s another Episode of Decoding40 and we start it off with a few burning questions. Are the women on Instagram models or are they simply THOTS? And, what’s your THOT ratio? How many pages do you follow are dedicated thirst trappers? The crew opens up the show with some personal updates. Vin is almost killed by a runaway ceiling fan and rogue weed whacker. L.O. is having over 40 issues with an unexplainable pain. Mack gets invited to the Vermont Brewery Festival in Burlington, VA. Finally, after spending almost five grand and maybe even enlisting the services of a dumb lead baby to eat the paint chips, Alaric's home is finally lead-free. Next, we talk about the JPMorgan owned ship that was seized in a Philadelphia port with over a billion in cocaine and whether or not JP Morgan executives were aware that the ship was transporting drugs. And, more importantly, where are the drugs now? We wrap it up with the latest installment of This Week’s Libation, Angels Envy, which had Vin in heaven. Alaric finds out that the heiress of the Basil Hayden fortune might be a future listener. As always, thanks for listening to another episode of Decoding40. And, follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. You can also check us out on Patreon. Peace!

Movin' On Up | Episode 14
Welcome back to Decoding40. We’ve got more laughs and more stimulating conversation for you. We kick it off with an homage to one of the greatest Black shows, The Jeffersons, in a way that only Vincent can manage to take it just a little too far. In this episode, find out what happens when L.O. mistakenly switched out actual alcohol for Heineken 0.0. First, we actually discuss, for real this time, the opioid crisis versus the crack epidemic and the impact that the pharmaceutical companies have had on society. And, the new prosecution that the biggest drug pushers on the planet are now facing. Next, we discuss the next presidential cycle and if the democrats are about to repeat the same mistakes of 2016. Then, we talk about hoarders and the interesting treasures that one might be surprised or disgusted to find. Alaric tells us a creepy story about the time he rescued his elderly neighbor who lived in massive hoard collection in Brooklyn. Thanks for listening! Be sure to share us with a friend. Peace from Decoding40 crew!

We Are All Kunta Kinte, No Kaep! | Episode 37
The crew opens up with a few movie reviews for your consideration that include Martin Scorcese’s latest acclaimed film, The Irishman now playing on Netflix. Mack also gives his quick take on the romantic drama, Queen and Slim, and his experience at a theater in the Hamptons. L.O. gives light on a new concept of anger that is pervasive among New Yorkers, especially, and many of our listeners are probably included in his sample pool for continued study. We discuss the use of pronouns based on one’s preference when not easily perceptible based on physical appearance. Next, we ask the question: how old is too old to have children? We then turn to politics, as Rick gives his hot take on Michael Bloomberg running for president and his late and clumsy apology concerning “Stop and Frisk”. Having entered into the presidential race does Bloomberg have a chance or is he just another distraction. This Week's Libation is Sazarac Rye Whiskey. It's a smooth full-body flavored whiskey that doesn't have the normal Rye bitter after taste. We wrap up the show discussing Colin Kaepernick and the public workout he put on a few weeks ago. We talk about the social and media impact that Colin’s display could have with all of the visuals that were at play. You’ll hear all this and more in this Friday’s edition of Decoding 40. Be sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Patreon. Want to be our Whiskey Warrior of the Week? Heeeeyyyy Massa!!!! | Episode 41
The guys continue to catch up on what they’ve been up to bringing in the new year. Predictably, the guys have been catching up on movies and shows that they normally wouldn’t have time to watch. We mention two Netflix projects, Eddie Murphy’s My Name Is Dolemite Kevin Hart’s Don’t Fuck This Up. We start the show discussing if we have evolved into a culture of oversensitive people? Where are the The Jetsons? And, why haven’t we achieved that level of technology in 2020? We then start to discuss Tesla’s newly designed Cybertruck and some of the technological advances that we have been able to witness. Then the great debate of the show has us discussing the cost of integrity. How much would it take for you to sell out to star in a Popeye’s chicken sandwich commercial? We also managed to possibly cross the line on Lizzo, Stevie Wonder, Kenan Thompson or maybe Keenan Ivory Wayans, Quavo, Eddie Griffin, Katt Williams and heaven help us, even our enslaved ancestors. This Week’s Libation is El Tesoro Tequila Resposado and has an amazing effect on the crew. You’ll hear all this and more in this week’s episode of Decoding 40. Be sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Patreon. Want to be our Whiskey Warrior of the Week? Or, do you have an event or product that you would like us to attend, sample and promote? Who's Down With KYP? | Episode 22
The show starts with our patently funny subway stories. Are bums getting too pushy nowadays and do they use their bum spittle as a weapon of coercion? The #Decoding40SubwaySeries continues as we all agree that we're really tired of all the dancing, loud music, and begging. Vin talks about his self-diagnosis of misophonia which is characterized by selective sensitivity to specific sounds accompanied by emotional distress and even anger. We discuss the story about Dr. Tisha Rowe and how she was asked by American Airlines to cover up because they felt her romper was too revealing. Is this another example of the over-sexualization of Black women's body by American Airlines? We switch gears to one of our favorite topics of hip hop and whether or not the DJ is just as important as the M.C. and should they get an equal cut of the money? We give our hot take on Spindarella and her current lawsuit against Salt and Pepa. Next, we revisit the story of Michelle Carter, the young lady who was convicted of manslaughter for urging Conrad Roy through text message to kill himself. We all go down memory lane and ask ourselves have we ever been in a relationship that made us want to kill ourselves, and is there such a thing as KYP? We end the episode with a listener question. All this and more in this Friday’s edition of Decoding 40. Be sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and on Patreon.
