EPISODE 32: JAMES GILL

With the release of this podcast episode, it will be my birthday week and to celebrate, my interview guest is Britain’s greatest compere and ‘my comedy brother’ James Gill. Gill is the co-founder and resident compere at Always Be Comedy club.  Having celebrated its tenth birthday in June 2021, I have been attending the club weekly for the last six years both live and online.  Together with Tech guru Tim Lewis, it is testament to Gill that he has created an incredible evening, featuring amazingly talented comic acts, as he tirelessly works week in week out to entertain an audience. EPISODE 31:BRENDAN O'DONOGHUE

In this episode, I talk to the great comedian BRENDAN O’DONOGHUE about his comedy career. A big supporter of new comic talent, I first saw Irish comedian O’Donoghue MC for Comedy Virgins at The Cavendish Arms in Stockwell in 2013.  Since 2016, I have watched him be the resident compere at Birdies free comedy showcase at The Savoy Tap in the Strand, London where he has introduced many a new comedian including Josh Baulf, Vix Leyton and Darren Walsh.  Armed with his trademark wisecracking jokes and one-liners, O’Donoghue always seems determined to give the audience a good time and whenever I have seen him, he succeeds brilliantly. EPISODE 23: ANDREW RYAN

In this episode, I chat to the fantastic Irish comedian ANDREW RYAN about his comedy career. Making his stand-up comedy debut in 2008, Ryan is both a brilliant compere and an excellent headline act in his own right.  His typical storytelling abilities matched with a warm, mischievous and outgoing manner have made him a natural stand-up comedian.  I have seen Ryan live onstage many times and he has made me laugh continuously with his wonderful routines and stories.
