Thousands of veterans appeals found in boxes, file cabinets and not processed

Show Sponsor - American Negotiators 972 - 764 -3120 VA kept thousands of veterans' appeals in boxes, file cabinets instead of processing them, report shows,  When a veteran receives care at a non-VA hospital, the veteran or their healthcare provider can file a claim with the Department of Veterans Affairs to be reimbursed for the cost of that care. But if claims processors in the Veterans Health Administration Office of Community Care inappropriately deny, or fail to process those claims or subsequent appeals, veterans can be left with financial burdens, including debt. An audit of the VHA Community Care Office showed that some of its facilities lacked any staff to process appeals and rather than sending them to another office that could, staff let them sit in boxes, file cabinets, cubicles and mailrooms unanswered -- some more than five years old. And leaders said they didn't know. that modernization, including developing and implementing all the required procedures for the required new appeals process and did not have the staff to process the appeals.

President Trump now officially facing impeachment for abuse of power

Show Sponsor - The Law office of Waranch and Nunn - Did President Donald Trump try to extort Ukraine for dirt on Biden? Will any Republicans notice or care? Recently, a whistleblower from the US intelligence community voiced urgent concern about a matter involving the president. The White House is refusing to release the whistleblower’s complaint to Congress but it has been reported that it is about a conversation between Donald Trump and the president of Ukraine.Back in August, a lot of us were wondering what in the world was going on when President Trump suddenly decided to withhold $250 million in military aid to Ukraine. A week or so later it was reported that House Intelligence Committee chair Adam Schiff, D-Calif., had issued a subpoena to Joseph Maguire, the acting director of national intelligence,

Whistle Blower Complaint Sets Off a Battle Involving President Trump

Show Sponsor: The Law Office of Waranch and Nunn A potentially explosive complaint by a whistle-blower in the intelligence community said to involve President Trump emerged on Thursday as the latest front in a continuing oversight dispute between administration officials and House Democrats. While the allegation remains shrouded in mystery, it involves at least one instance of Mr. Trump making an unspecified commitment to a foreign leader and includes other actions, according to interviews. At least part of the allegation deals with Ukraine, two people familiar with it said. The complaint, submitted by a member of the intelligence community to its inspector general, renewed questions about how the president handles delicate matters. Mr. Trump defended his actions, and allies described his style with foreign leaders as more freewheeling than typical high-level diplomacy. “I would only do what is right anyway, and only do good for the USA!” Mr. Trump wrote on Twitter.Though it is not clear how Ukraine fits into the allegation, questions have already emerged about Mr. Trump’s dealings with its government. In late July, he told the country’s new president, Volodymyr Zelensky,

$1.6M NRA spends is against background checks citizens want now

Show Sponsor: The Law office of Waranch & Nunn NRA spent $1.6 million lobbying against background check expansion laws in months leading up to latest mass shootings. The National Rifle Association spent $1.6 million during the first half of the year lobbying members of the House and Senate against laws that would enact stricter background checks for people looking to buy guns, according to disclosure reports. One of the dozens of bills targeted by the NRA is H.R. 8, a bipartisan proposal that passed the Democratic-controlled House in February and has yet to be taken up by the Republican-controlled Senate. The second-quarter filing shows that NRA lobbyists continued their efforts against the bill after its passage in the House. The lobbyists also looked to make changes to the Background Check Expansion Act from Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy of Connecticut.Calls for tougher background checks and gun control in general have increased yet again in the wake of three mass shootings in California, Texas and Ohio that have left more than 30 people dead. President Donald Trump on Monday tweeted that lawmakers should pass legislation to improve background checks while implementing immigration reform.
