Resonance- Star Wars, Friends, Marvel at DC pt 2

We dissect the evolution of serial tv and movies; and chat about the education, and intelligence of the audience. We make our way from HBO to Friends (singing praises of David Schwimmer) and make our way back to Robotech, which makes an appearance. We’re still talking about DC and Marvel. Why? Aside from the obvious nerd obsessive behavior, what is it about loving and hating, and loving to hate or hating to love our heroes that keeps this discourse alive? As adult nerds of a certain age are prone to do; Star Wars, Luke Skywalker and further force theories rear their heads. What really killed Luke? Join us, just fans, yammering about stuff that matters, as we further celebrate the mass success of the things we loved as kids. #friends #rossgellar #starwarsstories #popPodcast #whatkilledluke #theForce #spoilersReflections: Twin Peaks-The Return observations, and impressionsRuminations: Wandering thoughts, ideas, and conversations that enjoy the journey over the destinationsReminiscence: Tales of friendship, adventures, and the drinks along the wayResonance: Reviews and the like, over art of all kindsTwitter: Ruminations@FromTheRedRoomhttp://guillermotheivth.blogspot.com/Facebook Ruminations from the Red RoomInstagram FromTheRedRoom★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

Resonance - Why Monsters?

Resonance- Why monsters?Mike and I chat about restoring car projects as teenagers, that didn’t work out. Camping and just hitting the road, momentarily dreaming of touring the Arizona beauty from a bike. As the evening moved on, we then hit our topic of monsters. It was a mild Halloween night, and we wanted to continue the discussion from previous ‘cast, and address our feelings on the origins of our monsters and fear. Later in the evening, we get treated to the return of Justin, always with great contributions and perspective. What parts of monster lore and legend do you enjoy? Or not enjoy? Rumination - Sean of Oz

Ruminations Before the Quarantine Before many states issued stay at home orders, before the new normal was impacting everyone we knew, and dominated our conversations; Sean visits Ruminations in our new Colorado home. Its been a year since we jammed and chatted, and here we catch up a bit. Sean talks about beating cancer, love of his family, and being excited to move on to a better 2020. We cover in a super casual way some favorite music movies, sports movies, and the joys of hunting down rare music. We chat about the impact of on-demand digital audio vs the value to fans of having to chase down recordings…. We keep coming back to being a good person and appreciating the life we have…At some point we hit on science and god…the difference of “how” versus “why” Reflections: Twin Peaks-The Return observations, and impressionsRuminations: Wandering thoughts, ideas, and conversations that enjoy the journey over the destinationsReminiscence: Tales of friendship, adventures, and the drinks along the wayResonance: Reviews and the like, over art of all kindsTwitter: Ruminations@FromTheRedRoomhttp://guillermotheivth.blogspot.com/Facebook Ruminations from the Red RoomInstagram FromTheRedRoom★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

Ruminations - Weird Stories, And A First Time Guest

We start the conversation with a look at the way we may have been viewed by our childhood friends’ parents. Did the adults in your youth love you? Hate you? Ignore you? Maybe they just tolerated you. The main theme of the evening was bizarre and entertaining stories from the news. Of course we stray off as we relate those stories to our own experiences. Including some fun tattoo stories. Join us as we welcome Danielle M into the Red Room for the first time, and drop some giggles along the way.Reflections: Twin Peaks-The Return observations, and impressionsRuminations: Wandering thoughts, ideas, and conversations that enjoy the journey over the destinationsReminiscence: Tales of friendship, adventures, and the drinks along the wayResonance: Reviews and the like, over art of all kindsTwitter: Ruminations@FromTheRedRoomhttp://guillermotheivth.blogspot.com/Facebook Ruminations from the Red RoomInstagram FromTheRedRoom★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

Resonance- Sean Of The (Grateful) Dead

In this episode of From the Red Room, we let the resonance of a life of loving music, bring a musician back to his instrument. Finding new meaning, and connecting to a band and their work, through meaning, and intent, Sean takes us on a journey of rediscovery…I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again here; there is magic, and soul in music that is beyond words. We make lifelong friends of our musician heroes and they see us through much, often narrating our lives. Every musician has a story and a motivation. The muse finds us at different times, and states of mind and heart. It is always refreshing, and rewarding when we express our art. Go out and create. We also touch on separating art from the artist and what makes an artist stand the test of time.Twitter: Ruminations@FromTheRedRoomhttp://guillermotheivth.blogspot.com/Facebook Ruminations from the Red RoomInstagram FromTheRedRoom★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

Ruminations - on a Sad Song ep. 1

Ruminations - on a Sad Song ep. 1 What is it about a sad song? Some of us only like them when we ourselves are feeling blue, others might seek them out regardless of their current mood. What makes a song really sad, and what factors contribute to getting that feeling across to the audience? We start our mini-series using Tom Reynolds 2005 book “I Hate Myself and Want to Die” as inspiration, guide-post, and subject of review. We start with Mr. Reynolds first chapter: I was a Teenage Car Crash. Please note that none of this is meant to take the serious nature of a sad song lightly. When first picking up the book, I expected a deeper dive into what made a sad song, what motivated the author of each track, maybe biographical info that gave us insight into the artist that was moved to pen their heartbreak, and set it to music. Like many times in life, we find the laughs to make it through the pain… The episode starts with a harrowing tale of Mike and an alley fire… Finding the solace in a sad song is a beautiful human experience, through the music, lyrics, or the brilliant combination of both. Hope you find comfort in some of this, be it from the artists works, or in the simple knowledge that someone has felt what you are feeling, and none of us are in this alone.Twitter: Ruminations@FromTheRedRoomhttp://guillermotheivth.blogspot.com/Facebook Ruminations from the Red RoomInstagram FromTheRedRoom★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

Ruminations - Blurinations From the Red Room; Reboot vs Sequel

Ruminations with drinks in hand....Well, you can only keep a lid on it for so long. We needed to cut loose and talk about something other than THAT right now. We gather from multiple points around this great nation, and revisit a couple great topics that have been breezed over before. Original vs sequel vs reboot vs remake….are they all just cash grabs? How are they different from a cover song? What makes a good cover song for that matter ? Too many drinks or maybe just enough it’s Silliness From the Red Room. Resonance - A New Return To The Last Empire Of The Jedi

Bonus Fan-Holiday Episode!Resonance - A New Return to the Last Empire of the JediHappy May the Fourth to all!!! We meet up with our heroes as they convene to pay tribute to a property they love; that many, many people love. Star Wars. A topic we’ve chatted about before here, and as we take a moment to discuss how the End of the Saga resonates with each of our guests, we also look to what the franchise could become, what we think about the current direction, and the state of that galaxy far, far, away. We were graced with Mike (Arvig), Charlie (CCC), James (JJJ) and Mike (Hoptimus) in the Virtual Red Room, and had an amazing time….My journey began, as family legend tells, at less than 1 year old, as my parents took a sleeping baby to see The Star Wars. I awoke during the cantina scene, and uttered not a peep, but remained transfixed at what played out on the screen; and in many ways, I am still transfixed, still a fan. We hope your May 4th is filled with wonder and joy, that can all set aside the less desirable elements of fandom, and embrace this wonderful vision that brought us all together. Ruminations - Mike and Charlie Shine A Light

Mike and Charlie Shine a Light Mike and I start us off with brief updates and how some of our daily operational tasks have changed. We picked up Charlie a little ways in, and we reflect on the latest Not-Doctor-recommended treatment possibilities for COVID-19. Throughout we keep the discussion going on making allowances for those with differing opinions, and express some of the frustration that can also create. We are pretty much caught up, and as Corona Virus Disease 19 becomes more and more a part of our daily lives, we look forward to times when we can change up the discussion a bit, and remind ourselves there is a lot for which to be thankful. Surprise mentions in this episode; Kid n Play, and a shout out to Tucson Local Eegees. What big chain or even mom and pop recipe do you guys wish you could execute at home? Stay safe, stay sane, for goodness sakes stay 6 feet apart, and keep a light on….for many reasons.Reflections: Twin Peaks-The Return observations, and impressionsRuminations: Wandering thoughts, ideas, and conversations that enjoy the journey over the destinationsReminiscence: Tales of friendship, adventures, and the drinks along the wayResonance: Reviews and the like, over art of all kindsTwitter: Ruminations@FromTheRedRoomhttp://guillermotheivth.blogspot.com/Facebook Ruminations from the Red RoomInstagram FromTheRedRoom★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

Resonance-Lashing out (in the name of passion)

Passion. It comes up in The Red Room often. We chase it. We try to define it. We seek it’s origins, and motivations. The best examples, in nearly any given field, or endeavor, are always cited as being as such, because of passion. The Red Room welcomes new guest YouTube star to be Lash Larue. Mike, Lash, and I dig into the topic as best as we can, and along the way we have a good time talking about games, music, our careers in retail,A.I…..as usual, the conversation is organic, and we just enjoy the journey. Reminiscence - Charlie And Brando; Swords and the Pines

We meet Brando. Charlie and Mike’s close friend. Previously appearing in name, and now, in voice. We compare notes on the way we were introduced to David Lynch. We are enjoying the art of conversation, and move from pop culture to the ancient art of sword play. Brando drops some serious sword knowledge, I can’t spell or pronounce the art in which he is proficient. We talk about first readings of Dune and Political television and we come back to the man-child theme, video games and comics versus choo-choo trains, is one really more mature than the other? Funk makes an appearance in our lives. We also discuss how we relate to one another through fighting games; virtual fighter, marvel vs capcom … And we also get a story of meeting Axl Rose, a WWE wedding, Fantasy football… I think theres something in here for almost anyone.www.FromTheRedRoom.comTwitter: @FromTheRoom★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

Reminiscence - Transmogrification And The Fandom

It’s usually a dark coffee bar, a dark booth in a local dive, or dark theatres, this time, Laura and I have a conversation in the red room which as you may know, is strangely well lit. We cover the challenge of going from introvert to dancer to the social butterfly to mom and during it all, a daring artist…Laura gives us the skinny on the Phoenix comic con, from the guy trying to attack the green ranger, to Jim Butcher (we’re sorry we’re impatient for your work), comic con burlesque…Additionally we love more of the things, and wistfully regret when we miss things we should’ve caught. Still working on getting the sound right, it’s tough, when the conversation gets going... Hopefully, as we’re still new at this it only gets better. It’s not hard edge journalism, its just a guy talking to his friends, his family, his heroes, hoping to capture some of what he loves about each of them. www.FromTheRedRoom.comtwitter: @FromTheRedRoom★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

Ruminations Mike N Charlie Night 2

We chat, at length, about family and demystifying our idols. Mitch and Charlie talk about being the short guy. The conversation heads into a place where we wonder if we're living up to the legacy of our fathers, and what we may leave behind even if it's just these words. We have varying traumatic events, some more than others. Charlie's track is super quiet, sorry about that, but if ya listen at home, or on headphones, you'll hear some stories well worth the attentive ear.★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★
